It's kind of irritating that people keep complaining that these new songs are "bad." Music is a reflection of someone and what is going on in their lives. John has what seems to be a lovely wife and his first (very young, probably born around the time they began work on this album) child, he's happy, and his songs are going to reflect it. They have a song for EVERY mood you could ever have, because John writes based on his feelings and on himself (which is something rare in the industry, because most people are in it to make money and only work on what they think or know will sell. John does whatever the hell he wants, and has said so). He writes AMAZING lyrics. His songs are TOP PAR in their own unique ways. I can get down to them whether I'm crying in emotional pain, blood boiling angry, or having the best day of my life. They're an amazing band through and through, and I think these new songs are just as amazing as their old ones in their own way.
He is happy, plus when he was writing all the hits through Magnetic he was actually in a lot of pain, and was drinking on a daily basis. He nearly drank himself to death in a New York City hotel room in November 2014 that saw him shatter a drinking glass and mirror. He drank himself into unconsciousness. He keeps an app on his phone that tells him when he had his last drink, and actually saying he didn't expect himself to live past 50 (because his parents passed away in their early-50's). He, Melina, and Liliana are living in bliss, and John checks periodically on an app to see if a property in Buffalo is up since that is his hometown, and his best friend Robby Takac lives there with his wife Miyoko and daughter Hanna.
Well said - Many criticise what 'artists' put out, and it's never easy to please everyone. If you don't like it, move on to the next song or go back to what you liked before - its simple. I appreciate the very talents of anyone able to express them in this way. It's not easy, but always easy to pick holes in things that these musicians do.
@@garyshinner3832 I'm going to be 29 in October and I've been a fan of them since I was 4. Hold Me Up was released around my birth. Only their eponymous album and Jed were released before I was born in 1990.
This is exactly what Goo Goo Dolls is about: 1. Honest lyrics 2. Guitar oriented 3. A great hook Great to hear the lads still have it in them. Miracle Pill is a great tune, Money Fame and Fortune is one of the best they've put out since Something For The Rest Of Us, and this song hits home really hard. This album will be amazing for sure.
Some people just don't understand how great of a songwriter johnny is......he's been through alot in his life, he might not speak of much personally.....but his lyrics in the music does
This song hits home, more ways than one. Finding your other half to balance out our darkness just so we can lend him/her our light is simply exquisite.
This song is so meaningful to me and my wife. We've been through alot together. Addiction, lies, pain, turmoil, healing and forgiveness. We are still together and happier now than ever. Some things really are indestructible.
Been a fan since the 90s and the Goo Goo Dolls don't disappoint with Indestructible. Johnny's voice is just unique. The song has a nostalgic feeling to it.
I grew up a juvenile delinquent listening to the Goo Goo Dolls, I continued listening through some of the strangest times of my life. It’s weird, but also heartwarming, to hear new songs.
YES YES YES YES YES! This is the Goo Goo Dolls sound I remember and grew up with in the 1990's-early 2000's. Guitars, drums, heavy bass line, the piano they've used before on their old albums, and the orchestral section of strings. The song shows that they never lost their signature sound, even during the experimental stage. Every album has had one or two tracks or more with their signature sound, they would never abandon that. On Boxes, I can think of three songs that sounded, "Oh yeah, that's the Goo Goo Dolls, this is definitely one that sounds like they would put out." For the songs, I gave Miracle Pill a 7/10, Money Fame & Fortune a 9/10, but Indestructible gets a 10/10!
I've been listening to you since 1995. The sound has changed but the heart has not. I know all your albums and songs from the 1st (including Don't Beat my Ass with a Baseball Bat) until now. I always have and always will know you guys are the best!
And this, gentlemen, is why you have been my favorite band since I was born. The music just keeps evolving and reflecting personal change and that's why it keeps staying so fucking relatable. It's life cleverly boiled down into just the right words and put to just the right tune. Johnny, Robbie, Mike, and assorted company keeping the Goo Goo Dolls running for every song and every tour, y'all are amazing people and amazing artists.
This is just what I was hoping for from the new album. A genuine song with John's lyrics that speak to the soul plus the guitar is back! Saw them in concert and they are great live. So proud of the goo goo dolls, keep the new music coming.
heard miracle pill on a fm station and on serius too. Sounds so much better for some reason on the radio . Theyre still relevant. Not too many 90s bands are even making new music these days. So i'll enjoy whatever they make .
You know I haven't listened to you guys in a long time. And then out of the blue here you are rocking my world like you used to. Your lyrics always touch my heart. And the rhythm of your beat always find my feet tapping away.# amazing
I so love and adore this song!! Who knows, it might end up being one of my all time favourites like "Iris"!! Love to you all. ❤ Michele 29.10.2022@2.07pm
I needed this lyrics and a song like this right now in my life. For the second time in my life you're giving me a reason to continue. Thank you guys and God bless you
Been a fan and to multiple concerts since the mid-90's... this... this is absolutely amazing and on par with the anything you've ever done. My lord is this great. Cannot wait to see you in November. PLEASE be playing this live by then!!
I too will be seeing them in November!!! I'm so excited, I get Goo bumps just thinking about it!!! Not much into Train though. Don't get me wrong Train gas some really awesome songs but for Mr this trip is all about the Goo Goo Dolls!!!😜
the thing is ive been a goo goo dollz fan for the longest time. growing up i didnt quite understand what it meant to have family or close friends... but in the last 10 years these guys have helped me through tough times. as a music group these guys are and still way above par in my books.. TY
Congrats gentlemen!.....I predict this tune will be a huge hit!.....well crafted with great lyrics and catchy melody.... has great commercial appeal....You guys have come a long way, with great success, since you "rocked" in the clubs of Buffalo...and so deserving!.....Keep the "hits" coming as you continue to make Buffalo proud!
Although I am not a fan of their last few records, the Goo's will always have a place in my heart. I love you guys man, I may not have made it through my teens without you! Stay true Brothers! \,,/
Wow this is a Great Song! This is like a Millenial Song.. Its great that Goo Goo Dolls keeps staying relevant even though they are 30 years in the Music Industry! Keep making this great Songs GGD!!
GGD is my favorite band and I used to say the same thing... earlier stuff is the best and new stuff not as good. But as I let Spotify play their music with open ears while I’m working on my cars in the garage, I began to get it. You have to adapt to the new sound. The early stuff is cool but gets old as well when played repeatedly. GGD new sound has evolved. they’re not teenagers anymore just as I’m not. So yes I was one of those who rebelled against their new stuff but now the new stuff grew on me just like many things in life. Now I love their new sound. It’s not the early stuff but it’s refreshing. Just give a chance and let it play in the background while you’re doing something or play at your party then you will get it.
to me the earlier stuff was a bit more is punky the right word i not sure,Have seen the goo goo dolls 6 times they just get better and better,Iris is one of my favourite 3 songs ever, keep the car runnng and truth is a whisper very close behind,I just love ggd sooooooo much, cant wait until they come back to London.
@@victoriasutton9958 yeah they are the few bands that sounds great or better live. Saw them live like 19yrs ago... wow, I’m due for another live concert lol but covid is preventing that. But definitely need to see them before we all get too old 😂. Just heard their cover of “nothing can change you” “postcard from paradise” and love it. My fav goo song is “name” but I pretty much like 95% of their music catalog.
I think they did a great job !! I always look forward to their songs old or new if I'm seeing them live or buying their new cd. It is a great talent to tap into what's going on in your own thoughts and what people are dealing with in life, ( I wish I could do that )

This album's sound sounds very new and fresh. People might be put off a little because the guitars aren't as out front as previous work. John is older now and this music is more deeper and mature. I like the fuller sound and melodic unity...vocal arrangements are executed nicely...

Inspiration from you guys through my life knows no bounds. Thank-you for your music and the way it has moved my life, art, and creative writing also helping me emotionally during the tough times. I just went through heavy illness and chronic illness and the music was always there to fall back on. I'm recovering now and it didn't come from a pill :) but the music sure works like one when times are tough.
This is MUCH MUCH better than the first Song (Miracle Pill) they released. 🤞 Best song they have released since "Somthing for the rest if us" came out.
Wasn't aware they had released new music, Takes me back to old GGD, that same tune and rhythm. Very pleased; happy Labor Day Weekend everyone, be safe and jam out!!!

True though I can go without the pop tune
I’m really luvving this album ♥️♥️♥️♥️♥️♥️♥️♥️♥️♥️
Lots of texture with the musical layers & vocals!!!
Remarkable how his voice is holding up as it ages.
I was just saying this to a friend! So many artists ruin or lose their voices over time but not John! Sounds great to this day
@VH 1984 holy crap...1984 is one of my all time favorite albums AND you like the goo goos?? Are you real? Can we be friends?
How on Earth did I miss this ☔😮🙀🎶💜🏝️

Dj Dame that’s what you call great music brother 🔥🤘🏻
From Italy, Rome, as always...ROCK ON FOR "GOO GOO DOLLS", oh yeah!!!!
Should have been the first single! Haven't loved a song from them this much since the Gutterflower album.

I absolutely love when the guitar solo comes in, I feel like I am flying! This song needs to be turned up loud!

これぞジョンの必殺メロディー♪
ニューアルバムが楽しみだ!
そして、、、日本にも来ておくれ〜。
OMG this song is amazing talk about an absolute masterpiece, John the songsmith wizard
can still cast his spell.
This is probably the best thing they’ve put out since Gutterflower
Totally agree truthfully i still think the early stuff is untouchable to any song writer to date and this kinda reminds of the early stuff.
Wow since Gutterflower ?
I think "Better Days" was amazing, but generally, even as a hardcore GGD fan, I agree.
I think Notbroken is highly underrated, and should be mentioned as an all-time great song period let alone a GGD song
Drift Wood yes yes yes on notbroken. However this might be my fav song since then
What a beautiful solo!!
First time hearing.....completely what I need to hear right now
The magnificent lyrics of this band will never cease to amaze us, it is a walking inspiration:'3
LOVE THIS!!!!! YOU GUYS SOUND SO GREAT! LOOK GREAT TOO!
Hello, how are you doing? It’s nice meeting you here. Thanks for your love and support. Happy New month to you ❤🤟🏻🤟🏻
Give me just one Hold Me Up/Boy Named Goo sounding Punk song on the new album with a classic Rzeznik solo and that'll hold me over for years.
Hell Ya!! But we both know that wont happen. I've been waiting years for that to happen only to be disappointed. It's a shame.
THIS is the Goos I know and love! Miracle Pill was eh, THIS IS GOLD. THIS NEEDS TO BE EVERYWHERE. YES! I love you guys.
This one is an instant love. Two great songs out of three presented so far - makes me hopeful for the new album (keeps her fingers crossed)
This song just made miricle pill gold and plantium ,
You and I , true musicians !!!
I think they did a great job !! I always look forward to their songs old or new if I'm seeing them live or buying their new cd. It is a great talent to tap into what's going on in your own thoughts and what people are dealing with in life, ( I wish I could do that )
It's awesome so many people have listened to this, I think it's the favorite!!
The Goo Goo Dolls are just such a great band. There are very bands where I consistently like their songs as much as I do them
If we all keep listening, the goo goo dolls won't die. 1989 through 2019.....
Feeling that Here is Gone vibes
Sounds a new dawn great song to me.
Funny how this album seems to fit these crazy times. This song in particular hits home. My girlfriend lives in Canada, I live in the U.S. and we have not seen each other since the border closed in March. Though it is tough and we are being tested we will let it destroy us.
They were great in Pittsburgh. Wish they would've played this . Add this to your set list guys. Also, they should be the headliner imo
Two words... Thank you!
I sent this song to my wife...she loved it so much
LOVE THE GOO GOO DOLLS! Robbie was at my daughters pre school end of year picnic (for his niece).Thought that was pretty cool. Didn't bother him or anything but would have loved to! LOVE their story to success. John is nice on the eyes too. cutie! Buffalove :) another hometown concert please
Enjoyed reading your post-I hope to see em live one day \o/ One of the most prolific bands out there!

Got a lovely Springsteen and Deaf Havana vibe off this. 🔥
And now today....cant stop listening to this song. Goo goo dolls are legendary. Crazy that they started out as kind of a punk band.
*smile* Glad they're back.
Holy shit. Goo Goo Dolls are still poppin!
Another great song from googoodolls. Love them song since :slide, city of angels soundtrack song, name and many more. Yeahhh!!!
