I am not the only one who just jump straight to helldivers 2 after watching the trailer to liberate planets from illuminate and missed the rest of the game award event
My buddies and I were in the middle of a campaign when one started freaking out that the Illuminate had arrived. The announcement had just happened 5 minutes prior and so we closed our games, updated, then dove for democracy.
Someone was saying it was gonna be revealed during the game awards a while ago (they weren't a leaker or nothing they just got a lucky ass a guess) So I guess most people were believing that guy and expected it to happen
Like someone said on a completely different comment. Its not a room full of gamers, its devs, some actors and some fans, its even surprising there was even a reaction from the fans screaming a little, dont know about other reactions to any other game shown here but this one seemed pretty good

Why would they cheer or clap for their competitors lol where I was sitting, in the back section, those seats are for the fans. People cheered and clapped but the trailers are played with high audio you really can’t hear the fans that much. It’s still fun nonetheless

Balatro, FF7 Rebirth and Astro Bot are all fantastic games. Knock it off. Elden Ring DLC is the only one that shouldn't have been there. That taking Helldivers 2 spot is absolute garbage. My choice would've gone between FF7 Rebirth, Wukong and Helldivers 2 for GOTY. I Understand why Astro Bot got it and I do love that game but it does show how goofy western game critics are.
