  • The Executive Director of the Community Foundation of North Central Washington, Beth Stipe, spoke out at a Link Transit Board Meeting today about a proposal that would put a repeal measure of part of Link's funding on the November ballot. Stipe and a majority of voters cast their ballots in favor of a sales tax measure that increases Link's funding in two stages. The first stage went into effect in 2020, the second at the beginning of this year. Some board members are pushing for a repeal measure because they say Link can serve the community adequately without the extra money. Critics of that view say that faction of the board want a "do-over" and they're not respecting the will of the people.
