Karla has a T-bolt trampstamp? 😂 I would honestly prefer a Meteorite or Ms. Marvel Sofen over this, it’s basically a white F buck body. The lack of energy effects is egregious. No excuse for that. I would probably give her the “sparkle” fx over the “bubbles”. Meteorite would work better with the fire fists. Meanwhile, I’m still waiting on Binary. I managed to find Zemo last month, at least. 🙄 (one small mercy to my post-kidney stent infection?) Quasar I got from EE, then a toy shop got a couple traded in. Jigsaw is an easy pass, not that I’m holding my breath on him. I’ve already got extra MCU Capt. Marvels to custom my own MCU Moonstone and Darkstar.
Yes, I couldn't agree more! Some Marvel Legends have been terrible lately when it comes with accessories. A pair of light effects, or new Havok's waves in a different color would have worked well. Same happened to Shriek or VHS Jean Grey!...and still a 90's Cyclops without beam. Just not justification to be that stingy!
Why are they so afraid to make comic accurate females? They give the male characters the most ridiculous muscles but they try to make the women look like regular people in cosplay. She should’ve come with effects and an alternate head for that price.
Women are afraid of there own bodies and we have worry about offending those dumb bitches. I say just don’t release them at mass retail so Karen’s don’t have to see it.
Great review Dan! Like your adding of the hand effects (not the flame ones, the other ones); that made the figure look a LOT better. Wish this wasn't a Walgreens exclusive...it'll be months before we see this in the states. Good catch on the 'upper torso' change!
There was nothing wrong with that original chest all they had to do was make new arms, now I have to resculpt the chest to be accurate. Idk of its sexism on their part or what but all the women have tube boobs meanwhile the males have skintight abs and pecs
Back when this originally came out I thought this looks more like Carole danvers I always thought of moonstone as being thinner and they proved that when they used it for ms marvel in the three pack with ultimate cap and nuclear man but the upper torso and arms are a definite upgrade
In my opinion the original version looks better. Paint apps, details, contrast, everything looks much better 💁♂️ Wish I could find it mint for a decent price, but I guess the Walgreens repaint/re-release will have to suffice
Given how bad some of the faces looked back in the early days e.g. Agent 13 aka Sharon Carter, looking like melted plastic, the original Moonstone face was excellent. For me I want them to have improved the hip situation, something about a few figures back when felt like they had hips that were too big for the torso and they looked janky when they posed e.g. Jessica Drew aka Spider-Woman.
You never know what they are gonna be available and when you remember to look they're all sold out or you see they finally have the figure you paid $45 for $22.
How we do we get Moonstone yet haven't gotten a remake of classic costume/Dark Avengers Ms. Marvel (also Moonstone), or the iconic Ms. Marvel suit! We have this awesome body and we need a remake of all the old Carol Danvers suits. Especially since the Warbird costume was only in a 3 pack from 9 years ago.
One of the best things about that one Moonstone mold is that she actually looked like a female superhero and not a weird tube person. So I was worried they’d put her on the Shriek body (which I’m not really a fan of) but for some reason this looks quite good in the proportions department.
Where is the paint? A dry brush would have made the plain body look better. The "breast reduction" is ridiculous for a figure that is busty. If they did that to a jim lee rouge on the cell shade, would people be mad or would they be like "whatever, i want it"? Paying extra money for less is not good. The face does look good though. I might get one, IF and only if, I can get it on discount.
I think it’s a nice looking figure. Especially the face print. Her upper torso redesign doesn’t bother me. Her chest isn’t exceedingly smaller than before it just looks like she’s actually wearing a super suit now instead of like a liquid latex bondage wear lol.
It’s not about the size, it’s about the lack of definition in the shape of her torso. It just looks like one big lump now, and that’s a downgrade. Even the new Vulcan torso has a clearly defined chest. Have you seen the artwork in the classic comics? They’re gorgeous! Anyway, if you support this, you might as well have one big lump for her behind as well. Lol I don’t condone this lazy new design. Just Hasbro sneakily feeding it’s fanboys some dumbed down sculpts lol
@@numunky yeah, I really hate how they approach boobs, SOOOOOOO many recent female figures have in some cases the most captivating part of their design destroyed by "wokeness". Walgreens Emma would look phenomenal with a more defined torso. However, it's just an odd lump. It's getting so bad that characters that have large ones get a reduction of some kind. Like them or not they will always be apart of the female form and until they are represented correctly every female figure in violation should get a 👎, and be passed on. They are to be celebrated not deflated!

A sculpted flight stand energy effect would've been cool. Something akin to the old Toy Biz Namor figure that had a water spout stand. The hair and face look good but, a sneering cocky expression could've been cool.

Nice! I have the SDCC box set and this looks like an upgrade. However, the SDCC one has a pearlescent white color to her costume.
