You KNOW the reason Howard the duck doesn't have articulation is because Hasbro knew they couldn't really reuse it so they didn't want to put any effort into it. There's no passion in these figures anymore, no love, just business.

Something that irks me about the Iron Spider is that in order to get the best articulation for the waldoes, you have to break up the design of them. 5:18 The ridges on the section that connects to the back aren't on the same side as the rest of the waldoes. I didn't like that so I rotated the sections on mine. 9:50 They could've used Mr. Knight's pinless suit legs on Chamber, but chose the crappy old ones.
Great video and excellent choices. I particularly appreciated that you actually explained in more than a few sentences why each figure was on the list. You just didn't name it and say it was bad. That was appreciated effort. Thankfully, I have none of the figures on your list, 😉 although I'm tempted to get Madame Hydra and Avalanche once they are deeply discounted to plug in collection gaps.
Xmanny87, we all in the community are kids at heart. What some companies forget that their customers are adult collectors and we have standards and responsibilities. Cost cutting is a corporate thing I get it. What needs to happen is for figures to bring joy and value. Reused bucks 10 years old, miserly applied paint, or no qc at the factory will lose them business not pad quarterly profits in the long run. No pinning the moon knight figure😀 the Spidey that looked like bondo was the inspiration for the paint job😄 they can do better. Let's see what 2023 offers.✌️
That Fallen One was heartbreaking. he needed to be what they call "Black Chrome". I'm almost tempted to try and take him apart and have at him with some Alclad II metalic paints. Customizers have managed to vastly improve the Howard the Duck figure by using the Body from a Jazwares 4" Fortnite suited figure.
Im so glad u included avalanche in ur top 10 worst MLs for 2022 bro. there's a great chance he will be a peg warmer or at clearance sale i hope. a necessary figure to complete d brotherhood but not worth getting on a high price. as usual, great review.

Great list! Always enjoy your content. The ML often say they have to reuse bucks due to limited mold. But then again, Dormammu and Red Skull uses the same body and were from the same wave! They could have put Madame Hydra on Quake's body. Just an observation.

I didn't have a problem with the price increase but I said only if the figures are updated and come with lots of accessories. I'm starting to look more at Mafex. I don't have any yet.

I am so happy that I only own the Molten Man out of your Top 5! The FF Spidey was an easy pass since he will be part of an FF wave soon and that this costume appeared in like one issue of Hickman's run. I have mixed feelings with Gorr. I love the character and don't think he should have been deluxe priced. I don't think he should have been on a bigger buk however but feel he should have been a lighter shade of gray.
They should’ve chose the what if version of yellow jacket with a unmasked hank pym head sculpt instead. That could’ve been way cooler than the howard the duck and a scott lang head that doesn’t have any fun factor at all.
Solid picks. Having loved the 2021 Red Skull and the amazing Zemo figure early in 2022, I was ready for a Madame Hydra, but man I couldn't believe they released something like that for 25 bucks, so I'm glad to have skipped it. Gorr I was SO excited for, personally I liked the MCU interpretation but still vastly preferred his comic counterpart so I was ready for a figure. I can overlook the comic inaccuracies with the feet and hands somewhat, but my god its so awkward to look at the rest of the body, his torso is so tiny leaving him with arms that look out of scale. The heads look great, but the hooded head basically only gets rotation and nothing else, meaning he just has to stand straight which only emphasizes the awkwardness of the body, then the other head whilst having more range is still restricted by the robes when it comes to posing. Now I don't go too deep into this line, I go for characters and corners of the universe that I'm connected to, and I love the Spider-Man villains, but even then I don't go too deep into it. Molten Man falls just outside my collecting range (then again he was in a 5 pack of random characters) but as you said it shouldn't have been hard to get it right, he's a big guy, give him a big body, that's literally all they needed to do. Namor, Vulcan, any body bigger than the one they chose would've been the way to go.
@@Xmanny87 Honestly no, but the Wonder Man in that wave tempts me. For me Strucker's head looks too big, and honestly of all the Hydra related characters, he's one that for some reason I never found all that interesting. Plus whilst I lean towards characters having their classic looks, he's one of the few where I prefer his later looks where they leaned further into the regal military uniform. As it stands only having the Red Skull and Zemo as my Cap villains is good enough for me. To me they're by far his two most noteworthy villains, and they look great mixed in with Kang, Loki, Ultron, MODOK and Doctor Doom in a more general classic Marvel villains display.

...it's been a slow drip of decline in Legends but even a slow drip eventually fills the bucket. The bucket is overflowing with sub-par releases that has this line in it's final stage unless they fix the drip.
I actually liked mr. knight. and yeah, I was so disappointed at the lack of leg articulation for howard the duck, I really wanted that figure but I won't pay full price for that.

I have hundreds of action figures in my collection yet I’ve spent thousands of dollars on nba tickets and jerseys more than my entire collections worth. Price is obsolete for your passions and hobbies just ask any hot toys or statue collectors 😂 Not a lot of nba fans are collectors of toys and action figures and not a lot of action figure collectors are nba fans… so these things aren’t selling out 😅 plus they are exclusive to hasbro pulse and few other sports websites, new price should help move them for sure if people were hesitant before

Spot on picks. I am very disappointed with most of the 2022 releases. The most I've ever skipped in a year. The best, IMO, were the deluxe figures - and they were mostly re-releases that I missed out on the first time around. This year isn't looking good so far, either. I'm half in on the Cho'd wave - def want Corsair but, don't really care to have a Starjammers team so, don't need all the figs. I'm good with Emma, Cyclops, and Corsair. Fang only if I can get at discount. The Puff Adder wave I'm half-and-half with, too, but stuck with cause I need him to add to my Serpent Society. I'm most excited so far about the villains pack. Sucks that I have to spend so much to get Stryfe but, he's def a must-have. Glad to get Random, though he needs to be bigger and he's not really a villain. And Pretty Boy I'd be happier with if I hadn't already made my own custom version (which I'm biased over and think is much better, lol). The other 3 are meh. But Stryfe is fantastic. That head sculpt is 1,000 times better than the ToysRus version (which i missed out on anyway). Plus, he's one of my all-time favorite characters. The old 90s Toy Biz Stryfe and Cable were the first Marvel action figures I owned back when I was a kid and what got me into the Marvel figs and, really, the whole Marvel universe. Got them from Target for $4.99 each. Before them I only collected Ninja Turtles and Power Rangers. Ahh, memories.
I want that Howard the Duck (I collect duck and rabbit action figures), but there's no way in hel I'd ever pay full price for him, especially considering I don't want the BAF or Scott head.

I didn’t have many worst this year I didn’t buy a whole lot waves I didn’t want or need yeah I have Molten Man and your right he should have been done on a better body I was gonna use the EX-Nhilo body, I passed on that Konchu wave passed on Love and Thunder wave I only really interested in the comic figure’s now and pass on things I don’t want or need.
I ended up getting the SH Figuarts Iron Spider-Man. No regrets. It's an awesome figure and even though Figuarts are smaller than Legends, it works with teenage Spidey.
I'm so glad you pointed out how bad that iron spider was due to poor decision-making by hasbro. I like the figure same as you but everything you said is dead on to how I feel about it. A good figure that should of been amazing.

That’s cool. But I stand by my list as Gorr’s head sculpts and accessories saved him from being on the worst category. He’s on my disappointment list because I’ve been dying for a comic Gorr figure only to be let down.

Silvermane, it's basically the custom that I did, along with others, who made it as well. But is also too short. At least my custom looks better, with the ToyBiz Gambit trench coat.
Ya now what is the funniest iron spidey and gorr are in my top favorite figures of the year XD but kinda agree with those cons. But those things don't bother me that much. I really had so much fun with iron spidey, and gorr is fine for me. he definetly won't be the smallest villain in the collection. But if it comes to molten man and avalanche well...... I was really disappointed with moltenman, really lazy repaint, not that bulky body, if they really wanted to use old body because it's expensive blah blah blah. It could be Namor body. He is not that bad but he could be better. And avalanche is not that bad but I wish he could have second angry head and some earthquake effect. BUT the most dissappointing figure of the year and the worst IMO is Retro Hobgoblin. It was one of the most like not THE MOST dissappointing reveal of all time. We have been waiting for new Hobby for 5 Years. He doesn't look like anything. Not TAS or no comic book style. They used everything from the previous one. maybe except for the legs and arms but that still made him worse because the other one at least had more sculpture. No new parts. They took off his bag and shoved it into a place where something new could be.They couldn't put that bag on him like GG. They didn't give him an untorn cape. Shitty too small glider that he can't even stand on because they chose him stupid shoes. I wouldn't take that figure even for FREE. because it would only take up space on the display unnecessarily. BIGGEST DISAPPOINTMENT OF THE YEAR. I CAN'T STAND THIS FIGURE. I HATE IT!

The funny thing is, as bad as these were, Hasbro actually his not “pricing” me out of figures in the way you mean it. For me I find myself moving on from the Legends line primarily because I don’t have a TH-cam channel and I have hit the wall of revelation that Hasbro. Has learned nothing since being called out on that Omega Red Cell Shaded Venom. With the price increase one only has to look at their collection to realize the majority of figures coming from Hasbro are Cell Shaded / Lackluster repaints of figures already in our collections. I don’t mean the Thanos Body being used for almost 5 figures. Or the Venom BAF being used for four-Characters I mean Damn the. whole cell shaded XMen wave that except for Morph and Cyclops were already present in my. Collection way before the VHS releases at twice the price of the original figures. Let’s not get started on the 10! Spideys that were immediately replaced. By the RYV and. AF body types and while still selling retro/pizza body types for the same price as the replacements. This has sent me elsewhere for my plastic crack. Because for the price of one Mediocre to. UGH spidery five pack I can get a MAfex/Mezco/Sentinel Figure which will make me smile a lot brighter than these lazy repaints of unimportant comic versions or worse lack of. imagination MCU not even. superhero characters for shows that potentially might not even return. I have yet to purchase anything released this year mainly due to lack of interest. Meaning if Hasbro is not interested in doing anything more tha. insulting me by punching me in the dick with a pathetic Abomination repaint or offering me repaint after repaint of MCU figures and slapping the the. Word Legacy on even more repaints to fool people into buying what equates to a higher priced custom job, then they do not Deserve my Money. If they keep this up while crying they need to layoff a quater of their staff because a BILLION dollar company has LOST money I will call Bullshit and treat them the Mattel way and not buy anything with the Haslow name on it. There’s new collectors joining the the hobby everyday they can’t just stop making figures or repainting already made figures because we already have them on our shelves no one is forcing us to buy 20 spidermen 20 Ironman figures 😅 unless you love those characters. Most new collectors can’t afford second hand prices for figures that got released years ago.. I myself never had a cyclops or wanted to pay $40+ for the one that came out years ago. So yea I bought the VHS one and don’t need a cyclops for the foreseeable future. Toy lines will rise and die over and over we are just a spec of time on hasbro marvel legends timeline brother ride the wave or get lost and make your own or hop on another. No one cares other than you and that’s how it should be your collection your opinion your money.

I am so happy that I only own the Molten Man out of your Top 5! The FF Spidey was an easy pass since he will be part of an FF wave soon and that this costume appeared in like one issue of Hickman's run. I have mixed feelings with Gorr. I love the character and don't think he should have been deluxe priced. I don't think he should have been on a bigger buk however but feel he should have been a lighter shade of gray.
They should’ve chose the what if version of yellow jacket with a unmasked hank pym head sculpt instead. That could’ve been way cooler than the howard the duck and a scott lang head that doesn’t have any fun factor at all.
Solid picks. Having loved the 2021 Red Skull and the amazing Zemo figure early in 2022, I was ready for a Madame Hydra, but man I couldn't believe they released something like that for 25 bucks, so I'm glad to have skipped it.
Gorr I was SO excited for, personally I liked the MCU interpretation but still vastly preferred his comic counterpart so I was ready for a figure. I can overlook the comic inaccuracies with the feet and hands somewhat, but my god its so awkward to look at the rest of the body, his torso is so tiny leaving him with arms that look out of scale. The heads look great, but the hooded head basically only gets rotation and nothing else, meaning he just has to stand straight which only emphasizes the awkwardness of the body, then the other head whilst having more range is still restricted by the robes when it comes to posing.
Now I don't go too deep into this line, I go for characters and corners of the universe that I'm connected to, and I love the Spider-Man villains, but even then I don't go too deep into it. Molten Man falls just outside my collecting range (then again he was in a 5 pack of random characters) but as you said it shouldn't have been hard to get it right, he's a big guy, give him a big body, that's literally all they needed to do. Namor, Vulcan, any body bigger than the one they chose would've been the way to go.

@@Xmanny87 Honestly no, but the Wonder Man in that wave tempts me. For me Strucker's head looks too big, and honestly of all the Hydra related characters, he's one that for some reason I never found all that interesting. Plus whilst I lean towards characters having their classic looks, he's one of the few where I prefer his later looks where they leaned further into the regal military uniform.
As it stands only having the Red Skull and Zemo as my Cap villains is good enough for me. To me they're by far his two most noteworthy villains, and they look great mixed in with Kang, Loki, Ultron, MODOK and Doctor Doom in a more general classic Marvel villains display.

...it's been a slow drip of decline in Legends but even a slow drip eventually fills the bucket. The bucket is overflowing with sub-par releases that has this line in it's final stage unless they fix the drip.

Not a lot of nba fans are collectors of toys and action figures and not a lot of action figure collectors are nba fans… so these things aren’t selling out 😅 plus they are exclusive to hasbro pulse and few other sports websites, new price should help move them for sure if people were hesitant before
Also since these are exclusive to only a couple only websites the stock is limited I imagine. So low sales of course caused the lower prices. Spot on picks. I am very disappointed with most of the 2022 releases. The most I've ever skipped in a year. The best, IMO, were the deluxe figures - and they were mostly re-releases that I missed out on the first time around. This year isn't looking good so far, either. I'm half in on the Cho'd wave - def want Corsair but, don't really care to have a Starjammers team so, don't need all the figs. I'm good with Emma, Cyclops, and Corsair. Fang only if I can get at discount. The Puff Adder wave I'm half-and-half with, too, but stuck with cause I need him to add to my Serpent Society. I'm most excited so far about the villains pack. Sucks that I have to spend so much to get Stryfe but, he's def a must-have. Glad to get Random, though he needs to be bigger and he's not really a villain. And Pretty Boy I'd be happier with if I hadn't already made my own custom version (which I'm biased over and think is much better, lol). The other 3 are meh. But Stryfe is fantastic. That head sculpt is 1,000 times better than the ToysRus version (which i missed out on anyway). Plus, he's one of my all-time favorite characters. The old 90s Toy Biz Stryfe and Cable were the first Marvel action figures I owned back when I was a kid and what got me into the Marvel figs and, really, the whole Marvel universe. Got them from Target for $4.99 each. Before them I only collected Ninja Turtles and Power Rangers. Ahh, memories.

I didn’t have many worst this year I didn’t buy a whole lot waves I didn’t want or need yeah I have Molten Man and your right he should have been done on a better body I was gonna use the EX-Nhilo body, I passed on that Konchu wave passed on Love and Thunder wave I only really interested in the comic figure’s now and pass on things I don’t want or need.

I ended up getting the SH Figuarts Iron Spider-Man. No regrets. It's an awesome figure and even though Figuarts are smaller than Legends, it works with teenage Spidey.
But that’s an MCU one. I care about the comics version more.

That’s cool. But I stand by my list as Gorr’s head sculpts and accessories saved him from being on the worst category. He’s on my disappointment list because I’ve been dying for a comic Gorr figure only to be let down.

Ya now what is the funniest iron spidey and gorr are in my top favorite figures of the year XD but kinda agree with those cons. But those things don't bother me that much. I really had so much fun with iron spidey, and gorr is fine for me. he definetly won't be the smallest villain in the collection. But if it comes to molten man and avalanche well...... I was really disappointed with moltenman, really lazy repaint, not that bulky body, if they really wanted to use old body because it's expensive blah blah blah. It could be Namor body. He is not that bad but he could be better. And avalanche is not that bad but I wish he could have second angry head and some earthquake effect. BUT the most dissappointing figure of the year and the worst IMO is Retro Hobgoblin. It was one of the most like not THE MOST dissappointing reveal of all time. We have been waiting for new Hobby for 5 Years. He doesn't look like anything. Not TAS or no comic book style. They used everything from the previous one. maybe except for the legs and arms but that still made him worse because the other one at least had more sculpture. No new parts. They took off his bag and shoved it into a place where something new could be.They couldn't put that bag on him like GG. They didn't give him an untorn cape. Shitty too small glider that he can't even stand on because they chose him stupid shoes. I wouldn't take that figure even for FREE. because it would only take up space on the display unnecessarily. BIGGEST DISAPPOINTMENT OF THE YEAR. I CAN'T STAND THIS FIGURE. I HATE IT!

The funny thing is, as bad as these were, Hasbro actually his not “pricing” me out of figures in the way you mean it. For me I find myself moving on from the Legends line primarily because I don’t have a TH-cam channel and I have hit the wall of revelation that Hasbro. Has learned nothing since being called out on that Omega Red Cell Shaded Venom. With the price increase one only has to look at their collection to realize the majority of figures coming from Hasbro are Cell Shaded / Lackluster repaints of figures already in our collections. I don’t mean the Thanos Body being used for almost 5 figures. Or the Venom BAF being used for four-Characters I mean Damn the. whole cell shaded XMen wave that except for Morph and Cyclops were already present in my. Collection way before the VHS releases at twice the price of the original figures. Let’s not get started on the 10! Spideys that were immediately replaced. By the RYV and. AF body types and while still selling retro/pizza body types for the same price as the replacements. This has sent me elsewhere for my plastic crack. Because for the price of one Mediocre to. UGH spidery five pack I can get a MAfex/Mezco/Sentinel Figure which will make me smile a lot brighter than these lazy repaints of unimportant comic versions or worse lack of. imagination MCU not even. superhero characters for shows that potentially might not even return. I have yet to purchase anything released this year mainly due to lack of interest. Meaning if Hasbro is not interested in doing anything more tha. insulting me by punching me in the dick with a pathetic Abomination repaint or offering me repaint after repaint of MCU figures and slapping the the. Word Legacy on even more repaints to fool people into buying what equates to a higher priced custom job, then they do not Deserve my Money. If they keep this up while crying they need to layoff a quater of their staff because a BILLION dollar company has LOST money I will call Bullshit and treat them the Mattel way and not buy anything with the Haslow name on it. For me fellow Boriqua I am very happy with my collection as is and haven’t seen anything from half of last year and into this year that makes me feel like I will be missing out on anything. There’s new collectors joining the the hobby everyday they can’t just stop making figures or repainting already made figures because we already have them on our shelves no one is forcing us to buy 20 spidermen 20 Ironman figures 😅 unless you love those characters. Most new collectors can’t afford second hand prices for figures that got released years ago.. I myself never had a cyclops or wanted to pay $40+ for the one that came out years ago. So yea I bought the VHS one and don’t need a cyclops for the foreseeable future. Toy lines will rise and die over and over we are just a spec of time on hasbro marvel legends timeline brother ride the wave or get lost and make your own or hop on another. No one cares other than you and that’s how it should be your collection your opinion your money.

Like you said you bought the cyclops because you didn't have one and didn't want to pay premium for an older one but not all cyclopses are the same yeah the love Triangle is expensive as hell but there are others that are less than a current ML. Unfortunately, that is happening more and more lately with the quick turn around of certain figures retro falcon, doctor octopus and the whole BS mcu black panther legacy wave. More recently the Mojo pack and its re-release within months. It's like they want collectors to buy everything or pause before buying anything. I will always do what I do with my collection as so you should but don't fall into the trap thinking Hasbro is the only game in town because it's those kind of thoughts coupled with greedy business practices that made toybiz go bye bye.
They need to give new and more Variety with the female bodies. There all literally the same…
