I have one R2 mk4. Listen on it every day. Shame Ruark doesn´t have the same marketing deparment like bose or JBL because this radio sounds better than the gear I tested from those brands like the bose homespeaker 500 and harman kardon onyx or authentics 200 to name a few in this size. Ruark r2 mk4 beats those in clarity and rythms.

Because we live in...2024 Bass speakers? yes it has 2x75W down to 55Hz and up to 20KHz...so not bad at all. Headphone socket...at the back? Have you ever heard about bluetooth headphone? @@xmj6830 Yes, I have two tape recorders, and sometimes I record audio into a pc from radio so that I can transfer to usb stick to listen in car ....and what's wrong with a 2000s era recorder ? What an ageist you are . Perhaps you stuck your gran in a home when she reached 60 but I didn't . I hope your kids do it to you though .
@@xmj6830All my music is on usb A sticks, so I'll have to buy an adapter . I knew that but it's still an irritant ...there was no need to fit C when A was perfectly fine and universal ...The headphones issue is a nightmare. I have expensive wired headphones and I do NOT want to pull this heavy unit out from its shelf to plug them in every single time . Bluetooth headphones are rubbish and only meant for casual listening and convenience .
@@xmj6830 I don't care about it's speaker figures. Without a bass speaker ( like the R5 ) the unit cannot possibly compete with a dedicated woofer . The laws of physics cannot be broken .. and it's absence is a total DEAL KILLER ..and a ridiculous omission at this price .. .so none of your comments changed a thing ... So , go back and apologise to your grandpa for being a tosser . He was listening and buying ' records and music ' while you were still an arrogant little brat whining in the pushchair
