Thanks for the video. Good to have these new options. Would call this « advanced midi mapping » the day basic mapping such as jog wheels can be done though. I understand this could disrupt your hw certifications based business model, but it should at least be available to those who bought the full suite of options for 300 bucks.
This update adds multiple actions to each input, so is now better than rekordbox, but definitely still not "advanced". To be "advanced" it needs conditionals, modifiers and jog whell mapping. That would put the same level as traktor. VirtualDJ is even better as it has a full scripting language with any number of conditionals and variables, and support loops and timers
Heyo Serato guys! I plan to buy the 1000SRT. 😇 The only thing I dislike are the dimly lit Loop In/Out buttons. I want them to be always on full brightness, just like on the typical CDJs. Is this possible with a specific LED/output mapping? Thank you in advance 🥰
Somebody please help, The DJControl Starlight works with Serato DJ Lite on the same computer, but not on Serato DJ Pro. The issue arose after updating Serato to the latest version because of video not displaying on the 3 screen when trying to mix video, this was fixed but left me with no MIDI In Serato DJ Pro. Reverting back to Old version didn't fix the MIDI problem and has now left me with an annoying free trial message when I have purchased every Serato laptop and video package. Reinstalling everting also no dice. Serato DJ Lite works fine with DJControl Starlight, but Serato DJ Pro doesn't recognize the DJControl Starlight.
Thank you sir for sharing this video additional knowledge for me ..even I'm thinking very difficult to learn but through your explanation i learned a little bit.
I need some help here! How to map the pitch slider in serato dj pro, my pitch knob (AKAI AMX) is broken and there is nowhere on the software a pitch slider. Thank you
The strangest thing is that i can't assign another when i press A. When i press A it doesn't do anything. Can u help please. Its a new windows gaming laptop.
Hiya Lee, Are you running Serato DJ Pro 2.4 or above? If not please make sure you have updated to the most recent version :) If you are still not able to see the data types I would recommend reaching out to our support team at support@serato.com
@@SeratoHQ It's basically a "Mute" on/off button for each deck that's built into current Rane mixers. Dj's with motorized platters like the Rane 12/Technics Turntables would like to leave the faders open and start a song from a cue point. Currently on motorized platters you have to open the fader and hit a cue point at the same time. If you leave the fader open, you have to stop the platter at the beginning of your cue point but if you hit the start button from the cue point you'll will get the wind up noise from the song as the platter gets up to speed. With "Silent Cue" button, the deck is muted as the song continues to play, platter continues to rotate. When you hit you cue point/hot cue button the song starts at that cue point and is un-muted at the same time. Dj's using motorized platters would have the ability to start at cue points without closing any faders.

Is it possible to map controllers that are not Serato enabled? I would just try myself but I am nervous that I might mess something up and then the next time I plug a Serato enabled controller into the software something might be wrong. Lol Because of that reason alone I haven't messed with midi mapping features
Hey there - yes, you can custom map MIDI devices as secondary controllers alongside your primary Serato hardware Please get in touch if you have any more questions: support@serato.com
Serato for starters I wish I could assign those buttons to other functions since I don’t use Serato fx a whole lot. I would also like to be able to use the fx in single mode and not just chained mode
@@SeratoHQ this is what your support anwsered: "Hey There, Sadly this is not possible, Midi Mapping features in Serato DJ Pro are limited nd the channel level is not mappable."
Finally a way to Map 3 effects to one button, biggest update right there fo me.
And could you please explain, what is the different between
Relative - signed bit
Relative - binary offset
Relative - 2’s complement
Thumbs up if you'd like to see more videos with more examples for creative midi mappings.

Is there a silent cue midi option?
Can you go more in-depth about 'Silent Cue' and how this would work?
Serato I have the DDJ-XP1 midi mapped to use with Serato. I want the silent cue buttons to work like they do on the XP2
Just buy the xp2. Best serato controller out there.

Which 3 effects are you using for the first use case?
Epic reverb, clean echo out, distortion.

Can I now map beat jump to the pads of my mc4000 using the shift button? And pitch shifting to the parameter buttons of an SP1 using shift as well?
Currently, you cannot midi map the 'Shift' button to enter into a secondary MIDI layer.
Are you sure about it? In the video that guy uses shift to map 2 encoders to library scroll, do I miss something?
