Hi David. I agree mostly with what you're saying and how people can get burnt with fraudsters or whatever reason they come up with etc.... I have a short story for you.... My opinion is that (crowdfunding) is very subjective to what the product is and who is doing it whether to trust them or not. I designed a product over the last few years and then did a private "soft launch" in mid 2021 with people who are "enthusiasts" of the sort of thing I designed (not a sex toy, lol). That went ok and I got lots of feedback. I made some major design changes and then did a Kickstarter at the beginning of 2022 which was successful and which I fulfilled all the orders of the backers. The public reviews for that release on various social media has been amazingly good. I say amazing because the competition is fierce and my product is being rated up there with the best or by some actually the best. Since then I've been selling privately orders from people emailing me and just this last week I have a proper website up with prices and a parts selectable contact form to go forward. This week I just finished a new cad model for prototyping and potential sales of which people are asking for. There are many more plans for expanding which I share with my small army of followers and they seem to trust me, but that trust didn't just come along overnight. People have been watching me develop the product over three years and I've made hundreds of prototypes. That's the conclusion really, just that I have a good repour with people built up over a long time so they trust in what I make and will back me knowing I won't let them down. This isn't a sales pitch as I'm not saying who I am nor what I made, but the story is true and as you're a kind hearted person I would say don't give up on backing other people's dreams if you like the product, just be careful who you back and for how much. Personally I have no use for a small wind turbine, I just came to watch the vid because I love stories of entrepreneurship.
I love your entrepreneurial spirit. Shine on ladies. This is why I love the Freethink channel. I believe that we should mix all kinds of solar energy products. Capturing the power of wind, solar, and hydro will go a long way to drawing down our need for fossil fuels. This is my first time seeing your product. Combining several of these with some solar panels goes a long way to keeping my battreies full. I wish you two ladies success.
wind generators been around for over 100 years you think nobody thought of this before 🤣 it doesnt work it only generates about 20 watts barely enough to slow charge your phone lol
Well considering it can only charge small devices, a solar power bank is better because I don't need wind and the solar power bank is smaller with more watts I believe.
what if its night or a cloudy day 🤨🤨........ and also wind energy appears is more more than twice as efficient as solar energy. both are good based on condition..... like in Norway where solar panel are useless........
Im a prepper & i could really use that portable wind turbine 🤔 Solar wind & water all can generate energy so people don't have to be so depended on this grid that's already on the edge of collapsing
The truth is, we need to not rely on any one way of producing power, we need as many options as possible. Wind, water, ocean wave power, solar, even smaller but more frequently spaced nuclear reactors (less contamination if one goes critical) Limiting ourselves to one style will create problems
Would take a very very long time for you to get your money out of it, provided it lasted, which I highly doubt. If your a prepper I suggest building your own. if anything goes wrong you would be able to fix it.

How can I buy one?! Love it! I was kicking around the idea back in 1998 of a small wind turbine array that I could place outside of my apartment window to charge and power my cell phone, a small light and my laptop. An array that would be portable because I lived in an apartment, but something small enough to put on my window sill and close the window on the frame to hold it in place with the idea that you could take it in anytime you wanted. Now I see your turbine and I'm excited again. Well done guys! Very impressed!
I love that the entrepreneurs here are women and not men (I'm a man). The entrepreneur ship space needs more women involved. It's refreshing and exciting to see new players in the game. Diversity is one of the great roots of development.
Bruh, you are so lost. Women or men - it doesnt matter. Diversity - even less. All that it matters is that a creative and smart people with good business sense are in it.
Not entrepreneurs, simply scam artists. Wind power is well established and well known how it operates what it can produce under what conditions, the physics and maths are fixed....and this thing will never be any use whatsoever I'm afraid.
@@toystorybro Why? Why it matters in any way that they are women? Specially since women are "in the field" from a veeeery long time ago. The first female-owned business in the United States is recorded in 1739 when Eliza Lucas Pinckney took over her family's plantations in South Carolina when she was 16 years old. In the middle ages there were women merchants. And they made bread, beer, wine, and sell it to the people since forever.
I'm thinking of a windmill like device that you can install on your vehicle where you can charge your gadgets like phones, powerbanks or store any kind of battery that store electric for use anytime you want.
We can do nothing about the changing climate. It has been changing since the earth was created. It’s like having multiple streams of income. Will have multiple streams of power solutions. Thank you for designing this. Can’t wait to try it! Congratulations on all your hard work! Blessings
500 Canadian dollars for basically a portable rechargeable battery. Don't know, but there is a company called Anker, who would wipe the floor with this flapper thingy. The products they have are on the next level, including the solar powered ones. Either this company drop the price by A LOT or, well, you know. Kuddos for doing this, but a regular Joe won't be buying this, when he can buy ~15 decent power banks (without the solar rechargeability) for the price of flapper plastic thingy. Just a thought.
I hear you (I personally wouldn't buy it, but that's because I don't belong in the niche), but hear me out on the counterpoint. Powerbanks are quite heavy and they will run out. What if you go on a weekend camping trip? You might just last long enough with the powerbank. But any trip over 2 days you will need to carry extra powerbanks. Solar chargers are great, except they require you to be charging when the sun is out, which is when you will be out wandering about. Maybe you can hang it off your backpack, but it won't be optimum. This flapper thingy can allow you to take a trip as long as you want and you can recharge your devices as you sleep. Is it expensive? Yes. Can it be cheaper? Yes, but that is in the future when they improve production ability. But does it have a niche where people will still buy it? Definitely. Also, somehow it is a viable option for offgrid as well. If you were to buy 10 of those, for a total of 5000 CAD. You would be able to produce 10 x 40w x 24hours = 9.6kW in a day. That's about 1/3 of what an average house consumes, but for an offgrid house, that is very decent. Yes, there are times of less wind, but there also times of more wind.
@@Simqer most people camp out in forests , this obviously won't work there , also on beaches but no one stays at a beach for over 2 days , other place where this would work is mountains , so yeah its niche market .

Seems like a decent product. Its basically a power bank that you can recharge with wind instead of outlet. A bit pricy. The selling point ofc is the weight and the fact its gonna work even in the night or on a cloudy day.
Thing is useless. Supposedly you need 28 mph winds to make 40 Watts power so it's basically only good in a hurricane and then can just barely charge your cell phone. Lol
Hmmm. Hope the rotor hasn't been designed purely to wrap round the body, but I suspect it has. Might have to end up changing the 'n' to a 't'. Better call the marketing department...
I'm not sure what the use case for wind turbine the size of 2 footballs would be over like 2-3 portable power banks of the same size that could recharge my phone 8 times over. Maybe if you were going to be in a windy place with no power for several weeks where you use your phone constantly? I already have car jumper pack that also acts as a powerbank + flashlight. That holds like 6 full charges for my phone anyway (20000 mAh for my smart phone with 3000 mAh capacity.
@@nntflow7058 When you're in the wilderness?? What does that even mean? No one is going to carry that backpacking, so car camping, boondocking?? like all renewable energy, Solar, Nuclear, and Wind power come together to fill the gaps of each other's capabilities. Nobody is advocating for all Solar, or all Wind. Astonishing how you tried to enter this conversation without even thinking through your point.
Any thoughts on a VAWT system? The wind where I live goes in all directions and not consistent. I already have a 3D printed version getting ~30-45 watts, looking to iterate and eventually mass produce.
I admire the effort and idea but you’re asking more then 500CAD how is this justified as a purchase? I mean how much time would you need to spend outside to make this worth the asking price?
Eh, panels of any wattage are about the size of a medium to large laptop bag. Personally I'd rather have the wind turbine. I camp in the woods and my solar panels are meh at best but there's always a breeze. I wouldn't expect this to charge my battery bank quickly, but to set it and forget it to get a week's worth of trickle charge wouldn't be bad. That being said, their competitor that's already to market, WaterLily and WindLily, it's cheaper and has extensive reviews already proving concept.
You probably have, but if you have`, in the operating instructions please make sure that ` this product must be used responsibly especially in the vicinity of children `. This caveat could potentially save your great company. Hard work does pay dividends :) Greetings from the UK John.

You guys are AWESOME!
I would hope that there to hook several of these together and use it to feed my large capacity batteries. Combining several of these with some solar panels goes a long way to keeping my battreies full. I wish you two ladies success.
wind generators been around for over 100 years you think nobody thought of this before 🤣 it doesnt work it only generates about 20 watts barely enough to slow charge your phone lol
Thanks so much for your kind words! The next model we develop will be able to be daisy-chained or linked together.
Very inspiring
YES! I love that the prototype started on a Drum Cymbal stand.
I like your product, it is really amazing one .
Well considering it can only charge small devices, a solar power bank is better because I don't need wind and the solar power bank is smaller with more watts I believe.
what if its night or a cloudy day 🤨🤨........
and also
wind energy appears is more more than twice as efficient as solar energy.
both are good based on condition.....
like in Norway where solar panel are useless........
No just make the blades bigger...
@@surajraika9245 powerbank. what if there is sub 8mph winds? dude ...
Well you’d need sun then.
Also they literally showed the watts to weight ratio of a solar powerbank compared to their turbine.
@@surajraika9245 What if its not windy...
Im a prepper & i could really use that portable wind turbine 🤔
Solar wind & water all can generate energy so people don't have to be so depended on this grid that's already on the edge of collapsing
The truth is, we need to not rely on any one way of producing power, we need as many options as possible. Wind, water, ocean wave power, solar, even smaller but more frequently spaced nuclear reactors (less contamination if one goes critical)
Limiting ourselves to one style will create problems
Would take a very very long time for you to get your money out of it, provided it lasted, which I highly doubt.
If your a prepper I suggest building your own. if anything goes wrong you would be able to fix it.
@@seitanbeatsyourmeat666 Exactly, which is why this is so great. We already have solar power banks; this will be cool for when the sun isn't shining.
@@planefan082 ive already experimented with using truck alternators to produce electric to my cabin. Its not hard to go 100% off grid if you have the cash to do so
This item is useless. You need 28 mph winds to produce 40 Watts of power which really is not enough to do anything
Congrats On this genius design !
Good luck. We NEED this tech
Wish people really thought about what they assume is a solution.
Well done ladies! 👍
Honestly I totally support these girls after watching this video. They’re both really knowledgeable and personable, not only are they incredibly smart and passionate but they also seem to have great personalities. Not gonna lie I did laugh pretty hard at the final few seconds of the video (where they are both joking with each other). I bet you these girls and their company will succeed even more in the future! Great video btw, thanks Freethink for posting this.
The product is being demonstrably ineffective and they didn't show it actually working; 40W power output it's a joke, just enout to power a small led lightbulb.
Incredible idea, good luck 👍
I LOVE IT!!
i like this kind of people of making useful things for the better of our society... i also wanted to make wind turbine but didnt come to my mind that u can make portable windturbine..greatwork... this can be useful in a car but in different design... imagine your car have small cylindrical cone pipe..then inside of the cone pipe have multiple wind turbine motor...imagine the power that can create with that specially when your car is moving fast ...
Brilliant work Ladies - I look forward to owning a Shine wind turbine. Cheers💫
That is actually super cool
I was thinking of something similar for housing a few years back. Well done you :) maybe scale upto homeshine once you've cracked this market 😉
This is people making solutions not excuses. Im in love.
Wow as I was designing.....a mini one for my home during load shading ..this inspires me more 🙏🙏🙏
Keep on innovating!
@@alexforce9 Sorry, I’m excited about another gender entering the field?
@@Pabz2030 Why? Im not an expert but it seems like a decent little product for a niche audience. Is the math wrong in any way?
Great job, looks like a winner.
I'm thinking of a windmill like device that you can install on your vehicle where you can charge your gadgets like phones, powerbanks or store any kind of battery that store electric for use anytime you want.
I am interested in purchasing one, where can I place an order
We can do nothing about the changing climate. It has been changing since the earth was created. We can however, find new ways to get energy when our antiquated power stations fail. if the EPA or the tree huggers or whatever they are, would let us build new power stations it would be a great help as well. It’s like having multiple streams of income. Will have multiple streams of power solutions. Thank you for designing this. Can’t wait to try it! Congratulations on all your hard work! Blessings
I love it 😍 I want it
Well done.
So impressive
Thank you!
@@Simqer most people camp out in forests , this obviously won't work there , also on beaches but no one stays at a beach for over 2 days , other place where this would work is mountains , so yeah its niche market .
it's called a turbine. please approach these conversations with a modicum of respect and decorum. The entire point is renewable energy and micro-grids. That's exactly what this product is (on track) to deliver.
@@ryanmartinez874 micro grids? you would need 300 of these to power the average house lol Wind turbine generators have been out almost 100 years you think in that time nobody has thought about making them smaller? The sheer arrogance , ego and lack of basic science in people these days is scary. There is a reason why real wind turbines are massive !!
There is a heck of a lot of electronics inside. Why so much?
Great story!
Hell Yes! Great job.
you made a video about them but didn't think to include a link to them in the description?
Nice!!
It's there synergy for me, with this dynamic I can imagine how every difficult situation just melts in front of these two
Seems like a decent product. Its basically a power bank that you can recharge with wind instead of outlet. A bit pricy. The selling point ofc is the weight and the fact its gonna work even in the night or on a cloudy day.
But not when there’s no wind.
Another good point!
Thing is useless. Supposedly you need 28 mph winds to make 40 Watts power so it's basically only good in a hurricane and then can just barely charge your cell phone. Lol
@@mebluewater I literally spat out my food after bursting lol over the hurricane comment lol
That holds like 6 full charges for my phone anyway (20000 mAh for my smart phone with 3000 mAh capacity.
was wondering too
Wow powerful creation by this two ladies, it shows that when you are determined you can achieve anything.

Go girls!
I just fell in love with that sky-blue top girl for her confidence... 😅
N yeaaa the product and execution too
good job . Weldon
Thanks, Weldon!
Totally agree, Microgrids are the way to go, 👏👏👏👏
This is amazing! I’d take it on a hike or camping trip
I think these things are a great teaching tool for everyone to learn how feeble wind power really is.
When you are in the wilderness with no infrastructure. Feeble wind power is the equivalent of nuclear power plant in your hands.
@@nntflow7058 When you're in the wilderness?? What does that even mean? No one is going to carry that backpacking, so car camping, boondocking?? I boondock fulltime, from the desert in the winter to the mountains right now and I've never seen a single person make wind power work. Even in ideal conditions (the desert), solar is still better. But neither of them will ever power a modern industrial society.
@@nntflow7058 There are fadically better solutions than this. They have modules you put near a fire that produce 5x the power and and 1/5th the size and cost less.
@@canadajim The entire point is renewable, clean energy. That is not what a fire gives you.
like all renewable energy, Solar, Nuclear, and Wind power come together to fill the gaps of each other's capabilities. Nobody is advocating for all Solar, or all Wind. Astonishing how you tried to enter this conversation without even thinking through your point.
Where can I get this
DORKS! I love it.
I wish them the best, good luck girls with your endeavor.
Now I know what I want for Christmas.
I swear I had this idea. Well done girls its awesome 👍
Very good
Any thoughts on a VAWT system? The wind where I live goes in all directions and not consistent. I already have a 3D printed version getting ~30-45 watts, looking to iterate and eventually mass produce.
Do u love tulip Wind turbine's??
Generally, they suck. Not much output for their size
i will mass produce it in thingiverse lol, profit secured...
I admire the effort and idea but you’re asking more then 500CAD how is this justified as a purchase? I mean how much time would you need to spend outside to make this worth the asking price?
Free think should see through the red flags, show us everything not tease
Solar would have been a better idea since probability of a sunny is much more likely to be than a windy day.
Why didn't you show this thing in operation I might have been interested .
👏 👏 👏

They seem like the perfect partnership for this company. Pretty great product too ngl.
super 👏👏👏👏💖
How Much?
Likeable girls. I think I will buy one of this when it is available in the EU.
That... that is your decision making process?
You probably have, but if you have`, in the operating instructions please make sure that ` this product must be used responsibly especially in the vicinity of children `. This caveat could potentially save your great company.
Hard work does pay dividends :)

YES!!
Yep, just put in a little safety warning. It's lightweight, so I doubt it could seriously harm anyone, but people do seem to have a way of being stupid around everything
