I'm a tree service owner who just recently purchased a Timberwolf Alpha 6 with a boxwedge, and now Im trying to figure out the logistics of it all. I got myself a pile of wood..that's the first step 😂 New subscriber here
Another great video Heath. I'm all about eliminating touches. I'm light years ahead of where I was 2 years ago, but there's always room for improvement
Them big buckets make for an efficient way to feed the axis . We also used a dump trailer backed up to the splitter and that worked good as well . We will catch ya next weekend at the show .
Great Video as always Heath. I do not make Firewood to sell yet. I am looking at a Wolfridge Log Splitter RS-V, Small One but about What I can Afford at the Present time. I have Been in Touch with Bob Nelson. Now I have to figure out when to get it. Probably will not be until Spring. I can't make the Paul Bunyan Show again. Some day I will though. Have a good time, say Hello for me at the Show. Best to Rachel. Ron from the Woodyard in Duanesburg NY.
I am going to go to the dark side of firewood soon and start stacking restaurant wood to season. I’m not sure if I’ll use ibc or weld up my own racks. See you at Bunyan.
@@geogesterrett6391 I sell all my wood green in bulk at current time but I’m going to start stockpiling specialty firewood for restaurants and I want it to dry as quickly as possible without taking up too much room. Someday I’ll build a kiln but it will be a couple years for that.
hi there splitting right out of the bucket , that sure looks familiar ,if you were to remove the vertical sides and end on the log lift you could the the tractor bucket right on top . now when cutting those sides and back off keep in mind a way to reattached them with a slide and pin so they can be used when needed as they were intended to be used . will also need a drop leg , if we lived close think of the stuff we would be making , best to all john
Vertical MACHINES HAS A HUGE ROLE IN THE FIREWOOD INDUSTRY SUCH AS EASTON MADE AND WOLFE RIDGE, THEY ARE EXCELLENT MACHINES IF YOUR WORKING ON YOUR OWN OR YOUR DOING BUNDLE WOOD OR YOUR GETTING TREE SERVICE WOOD, THE 17VS AND THE AXIS ARE THEY WAY TO GO ,
Great video, great tips, Heath. Have you found that keeping a sharp edge on the blade makes a difference with the Axis? I've yet to sharpen mine. It still has the factory edge and it seems like it just smashes that first 1/8 - 1/4 inch of every cut, potentially leading to less control. See you at Bunyan
Cutting away the front of the tote will only work if you neatly stack your wood in the tote. Does the extra time to fill the tote negate the quicker dump time?
Check out our previous video on how we modify totes for conveyor fed or lose tossed wood. Similar concept. We stack off the vertical splitter and conveyor feed or loose toss off the horizontal splitters and firewood processor.
Ryan, google “bulk fluid delivery near me.” If the companies that are available aren’t too far,…I would suggest to just show up and ask to speak to the man in charge.
Great video Heath. See you in a couple of days! Safe travels
Thanks Andrew! On the road now!
Great firewood tips and tricks Heath. Very helpful information.
Thanks Kenny!

Nice!!
Welcome to the channel. It’s a constant game of improving and changing!
I like a vertical splitter for everything.
They are nice!

Thanks, we are always adapting and improving. The firewood community has definitely help change the way a lot of people do firewood!

Ron, that’s a nice splitter for sure!
Thank you for sharing the tote idea, I’m going convert my totes. Keep up the good work.
You’re welcome. They still need a little tweaking with heavier wood but still love them.

Any reason to switch to stacking?

A kiln would be awesome! We may try going the other direction and try selling some green.
See you there!
I always like a quick easy dump.
For sure!
Seems like there's always room for improvement no matter what you do. See you at the show!
See you soon Obie!
Good one 👍🏻👍🏻
Thanks Noel.

Yeah I e seen someone do it before lol. We’d have a lot of projects going that’s for sure!
good operator job!
Thanks Brian.

I agree 100%
I ain’t never seen small splits from someone who splits with an exe 😂😂!!
Set your tote on two or three pallets, and you’ll save your back even more.
Great input. :)
For sure! Setting it up on pallets would definitely help.

Ken, yes it helps! Makes cleaner cuts and fewer kick outs with knots etc.
Loving my axis the new one the only bad is the super split runs all day on a tank of gas
The new Axis is sweet! Super splits are nice as well.
Good job. I’ll stick with the green bulk wood. Right up the conveyor and out to deliver.
I think we may try some of that with the oak load we have.
Hello Heath, Sorry but I found the best way, cutting totes don’t need to be cut or chained😂👍🇺🇸
Yeah yeah yeah, but I do t have rotating forks lol!

Wouldn't it be more efficient to take 4 or 5 blocks and set on the table of the splitter than reaching for one at a time?
I did it like that later in the video.
@@hardworkingmanoutdoors Nice videos you do, love watching. I live in the Gaylord area and heat with wood. Keep videos coming.
I would like that Tote up in the air 18" or so to start .
That would definitely help.
What kind of wood is that
This was Maple. We’re going to run some oak, hickory, etc through it in upcoming videos.
Hey Kieth where can I buy an IBC TOTE at ?
