@@thegreatgambeeno sorry, but there is no record of anyone named Olsen (or any variation thereof) having been in Duran Duran. In fact, there have been no members of the band, past or present, with a last name beginning with O. And while their bassist is named Nick (Rhodes), there has never been a Nigel in the band. Oh, and Elton's drummer's last name is spelled Olsson.
In 1997, Reba McEntire and John Michael Montgomery both topped the country music charts with completely different songs both titled "How Was I To Know".
For your Duran Duran entry, you should have also included that there were two drummers named Roger Taylor at the time: One with Duran Duran, and one with Queen. Here are a few other musical coincidences: Duane Allman of the Allman Brothers Band died in a motorcycle crash in Macon, Georgia, on October 29, 1971. Just over one year later, on November 11, 1972, his bandmate Berry Oakley also died in a motorcycle crash just a few blocks away from where Duane Allman lost his life. The original cover of Lynyrd Skynyrd's Street Survivors album featured guitarist Steve Gaines' face on fire. Steve Gaines lost his life in the plane crash which killed several members of the band and their entourage shortly after the album's release. In 1964, the duo Jan and Dean released the song "Dead Man's Curve", about a young man in his Corvette Stingray who was killed during a drag race along Sunset Blvd. Just two years later, Jan Barry himself was involved in a bad crash in his own Corvette Stingray not far from the fabled curve from the song, resulting in a brain injury which brought an end to the musical act. On the night of February 2, 1959, after preforming at the Surf Ballroom in Clear Lake, Iowa, Buddy Holly and his bass player, country legend Waylon Jennings, were on the tarmac of Mason City Airport, as Richie Valens and JP Richardson waited inside the plane. The two men, who were good friends, gave each other a little harmless ribbing as they said goodbye. Holly said to Jennings, "I hope your ol' bus freezes over." Jennings replied, "Yeah, well I hope your ol' plane crashes." At 12:55 am on February 3, the plane crashed shortly after takeoff. It took decades for Waylon Jennings to recover from that night.

Freddie Mercury and David Bowie meeting before stardom didn’t require me to wrap my head in duct tape so it wouldn’t explode because removing it would hurt big-time.
The cover of Lynyrd Skynyrd's Street Survivors where the members are standing in front of a fire is eerie because 3 days after the album was released lead singer Ronnie Van Zant died in a plane crash.
Biggie passed away mid-90s yet in his infamous song Juicy he rapped "time to get paid, going down like the world trade" 4 or 5+ years before 9/11. Had ro replay it as an adult like wtf. Then realized there was a prior unsuccessful attempt during his lifetime
No Dream Theater? Live Scenes from New York depicted the Big Apple on fire (in one of the bands often used iconography) and was actually released on 9/11. I picked it up that day not thinking twice about it. It was yanked a few days later and a new version with an altered cover was released later.
This one's a little personal. On my twenty-third birthday (1996), I got two CDs, Bush's "Sixteen Stone" and the self-titled album by The Presidents Of The United States Of America. Both albums have a song called "Body".

The 27 Club will always be such a tragedy, man, all of those legends still had such a great career ahead of them but while it’s still interesting to think what could’ve been if those artists were still alive, at the same time we wouldn’t have gotten some of the additional music we have now (Dave Grohl forming the Foo Fighters following the death of Kurt Cobain and The Rolling Stones recruiting Mick Taylor and eventually Ronnie Wood after Brian Jones)

Wilco's album Yankee Hotel Foxtrot was originally going to be released on September 11, 2001, but their record label rejected it and they had to buy out their contract, they released it digitally on the 18th, and the physical version came out in April 2002. A funny coincidence for all Swedish people, happened on the 6th of April 1974. ABBA won Eurovision with Waterloo and kickstared their global success. That date also saw Björn Skifs enter the Billboard No1 with the song Hooked On A Feeling. It was the first time that Swedish music had had any real international success. Now Sweden is a pop miracle, but that date was the start.
Regarding the 27 club, I had always thought that they were mostly drug overdoses or suicides. Looking it up on Wikipedia, saw that there are a lot of them going back more than a century, and while OD and suicide are prominent on the list, so are traffic accidents, a few plane crashes, and a few who died of long-term or genetic disease. Murder was another common cause. The ODs and car crashes can be seen as terrible consequences of hard living, but the others not so much. Regardless of cause, 27 is just too young to go.
I find it kind of funny that on The Coup's first album, they have a track that corrects the pronunciation of a cheesy sounding reporter who mispronounce the word "Coup", as in "It's the Coup, this is Boots, Speak". . . Hint: the "p" is silent. . . then you repeat the same error on that whole section.

As an African American woman, I am but a casual fan of Tyla, but I really like her cause she seems pleasant and just having fun with her career. I was initially confused about the "coloured" thing but once I learned more through some brief research...I've let it go. That's what she's called in SA. I don't really expect ppl to change certain things when coming to another country. Tbh, I don't think she ever brought up her racial identity - others (Americans) did. She really placed emphasis on her being an African artist. And it got annoying cause she addressed the "coloured" situation prior and acknowledged her "black" roots but the goal post kept moving from what I kept seeing. And just like with some Africans, some Americans are using their negative experiences and preconceived notions to judge the opposition quite harshly. It's annoying as hell tbh😐

Pop princess Britney Spears and opera diva Maria Callas, whose lives have both been defined by high drama and attracted more than their fair share of media attention, share a birthday, 2nd December. This winter Britney will turn 43, a mere 10 years younger than Callas was at her premature demise from a heart attack in Paris in September 1977, 4 years before Ms Spears was born in Mississippi.

9/11 has so much coincidence to it that I don’t think it’s a coincidence. A coincidence is a couple of weird things that happen. But when something has too many coincidences and not just a couple but a shit ton more, something tells me that’s not a coincidence.

Hint: the "p" is silent. . . then you repeat the same error on that whole section.
Lynyrd Skynyrd's album cover for Street Survivors depicted them on fire. It was altered after the plane crash that killed several members.
John and Dimebag died on Dec 8th. Jim Morrisson is BORN on Dec 8th.
The drummer for Queen and Duran Duran have the same name Roger Taylor
Number two was DEFINITELY interesting. Having an explosion of the Twin Towers after 9/11 happened, REALLY?!?
Why do people tend to forget the first "member" of the 27 Club? Brian Jones from the Rolling Stones.
Robert Johnson was actually the first
@@ashleybrown4754 You have a good memory.
Pete Ham of Badfinger also died at 27!
@@ashleybrown4754 While he set the tone for the "club", Johnson was by far not the first musician to die at the age of 27. As a pop culture reference, the "27 Club" Became a thing after Brian, Janis, Jim, and Jimi.
Gospel duo Mary Mary, consisting of sister Erica and Tina Atkins, both married men with the last name Campbell. The men are unrelated.
Biggie Smalls: Life After Death, released 2 weeks after he died
The Coup is pronunced "the Coo"
Robert Johnson was the first known member of the 27 Club.
You have the 27 club at number one but don't mention the artist who was the first member Robert Johnson.
When I was at school, 28 of the 30 kids in my class were Scottish; freaky stuff! 🏴
Furthermore, 29 one of us were Protestant; is this blowing your mind?!!! 🤯
Finally, all 30 of us were born within a year of one another; W-T-ACTUAL-F?!!!!!! 🤣
These coincidences are just the matrix getting lazy and slipping up.
I don't think Bobbi-Christina's death was a coincidence, but more of grief induced trauma response.
So are you saying that because her mom died in the tub she did also but died of grief? I'm not sure what you mean. Suicide?
Hello good afternoon ❤❤❤

I Want The Top 20 Update For The Unbelievable Music Facts In History.
So you talked about the coup but did not talk about the live album from dream theatre which not only showed new York skyline in flames but came out on the morning of the attack?
How about the curse of the Grateful Dead keyboardists all dying tragically?
noted: as a fan of taylor swift i'll add more duran duran to my playlist
😄
Rip Amy Winehouse
It's not a big deal, but you pronounced The Coup inccorectly. ✌️
I was at Alrosa villa in columbus ohio when that coward shot dimebag. scary shit man
I wasn't shocked. Probably nobody.
There are other coincidences around music and the 9/11 tragedy.
All the albums released on and around September 11th 2001:
(And the spooky coincidences people say surround them)
Dream Theater - "Live Scenes from New York" (which coincidentally and unfortunately the cover contained originally the image of the New York Skyline engulfed in fire atop a red apple embeaced by barbed wire mirroring their self-adopted symbol of The Sacred Heart of Jesus Christ as a pseudo-logo).
Slayer - "God Hates Us All" albums which contains themes of war, religion, international violence and terrorism.
Jay-Z - "The Blueprint"
Fabolous - His star studded debut "Ghetto Fabolous"
Professor Griff - "And The Word Became Flesh"
The Coup - "Party Music" (which was not released on that day but was originally slated to be released in this date but postponed and originally featured an image of the twin towers and an explosion hitting one of the towers for the cover art.)
Mariah Carey - "Glitter"
Bob Dylan - "Love and Theft"
Ben Folds - "Rockin' The Suburbs"
Nickelback - "Silverside Up"
The Microphones - "The Glow, Pt. 2"
Yes - "Magnification"
P.O.D. - "Satellite"
The Moldy Peaches - "The Moldy Peaches", which there are way too many coincidences including a song called "New York City's like a graveyard" and a banned music video for a song taking place in New York and containing people looking up to the sky and paper planes, to just mention them in a single comment.
I would also mention the 1999 formed duo "I Am The World Trade Center" and their 2001 album "Out Of The Loop", which wasn't released in September 11, was released July 17th 2001, but they have a track called September, which is the 11th track and their music video for their main single "Metro" contains footage of the members of the duo in New York City as well as footage of the buildings of the world trade center, including the Twin Towers, with the eerie image of a pulsating orb of light above them or what seems to be next to them.
The other album that I'd mention is the System Of A Down album "Toxicity", which wasn't released in September 11th, it was released on September 4th 2001, with themes of global aggression, war and terrorism as well and contained songs like Toxicity, ATWA (which coincidencidentally is also the last name of one of the plane highjackers, Ali Atwa), Jet Pilot and of course Chop Suey, which coincidentally hit #1 in the Top 100 Billboard list and cointains the lyrics "I don't think you trust in my self-righteous su1c1d3… I cry when angels deserve to die".

not really not surprised by these coincidences
I don't believe in coincidences. Stuff just happens.
Most of these I knew already!
The initial release of Phil Spector's Christmas album featuring The Ronettes did poorly on its initial release. The date was Nov 22, 1963, the day of the JFK assassination! It was re-released successfully in 1972.

That's a crazy thumbnail you guys chose
That was supposed to be the original album cover
"their vocals melt so smoothly"
not to me. i don't listen to Bowie and am not particularly a fan of his voice (nothing wrong with it, just not a voice i wanna spend time listening to) so in Under Pressure his voice does not fit at all. i love the version with just Freddy singing it.
The world is full of coincidences. 🎉

09:31 Looking at Janice Joplin, you would think she's in her early 40's and not her mid-20's.
Yeah, i'm not watching some video that shows thousands of people in New York dying in order to see "how cool" music goes along with it.
Nice clickbait thumbnail!
WTF kinda thumbnail is that?
it was the album cover before they changed it
9/11 has so much coincidence to it that I don’t think it’s a coincidence.
A coincidence is a couple of weird things that happen.
But when something has too many coincidences and not just a couple but a shit ton more, something tells me that’s not a coincidence.
The Coup were responsible for 9/11, you read it here, folks! I'm sure Dream Theater were involved too.
It's a big world. I'm sure that could account for so many coincidences. We could go back to Nostradamus supposedly predicting 9/11. (If you believe in that crap.)
@@dawndurante1554 “Coincidences” like if you fold the One Dollar Bill into a plane you can get an image that looks exactly like the WTC towers on fire.
A short lived TV show called The Lone Gunman that aired from March to June 2001 had an episode where they needed to divert a plane from hitting the WTC towers.
And a shit ton more.
How many “coincidences” do there need to be in order for it to not be a coincidence?.
The album "God Hates Us All" by Slayer was released exactly at Sep. 11th 2001. How about this?
I guess it depends on whether you think that God sent the planes into the towers.
Well, the ones that flew the planes into the towers were convinced that it was God's work!
OJ Simpson's no so great escape live on TV TRUMPing David Hasselhoff's pay per view music special and coincidently at da Domestic Terrorist/Treasonous Coward's Trump Castle resort.
