    I get Jason Cundy's point about football being a cut-throat business, but I don't get his attitude that treating players badly, no matter how much they are paid, should be normalised and accepted as OK behaviour. It isn't OK and if we accept that it is OK then our morals and ethics have been corrupted as well. Above what salary level is it OK to treat someone badly? That kind of thinking comes from sheer envy and callousness.

    Looking back over Sterlings numbers - they are excellent. Comparable to the best wingers to have played in the premier league and in many cases better. His numbers are much better than Giggs for instance. Having said that Giggs played as a LM in the old 442 system for most of his career (after 2007 he played as a LW) wheras Sterling has been a LW in a 4231 or 433 his whole career and thus slightly closer to goal

    You all seem to be missing the point here. The era where Chelsea players paid hundreds of thousands of pounds, yet fail to deliver on the pitch is gone! Sterling is paid top money, he needs to put his head down, work harder, train harder and let his footballing output do the talking in training as well as in games. He isn't Messi, he isn't Ronaldo, he is a well paid footballer whose income feeds those so called handlers issuing that contradictory statement, yet the player isn't delivering as he should. The fact that you are paid hundreds of thousands of pounds doesn't guarantee you playing time. It's your output that matter and if you're not putting in much efforts on the field of play as well as in training to compete well to merit selection, then Chelsea reserves the right to move you on! Let's not forget that coaches have been sacked for such poor attitude by well paid Chelsea players in the past. It's about time these over paid players are held to account, to produce outputs in matches that merit their contract and to get rewarded for their passion and commitment. Enough is enough.

    Tbh it’s about time a manager had the balls to make this decision. He hasn’t earned the right to be in the squad. For the money he’s on he should be the main man. He’s not even 5th choice in that attack. Good riddance to him going tbh. Get that massive waste of wages off the books.

    Player welfare makes me laugh - sterling is still getting 300k plus a week, can train at top facilities, gets his food prepped for him etc etx etc. whilst football squads are getting out of hand now with the sizes, he has not been good for ages now and the manager just made it cleared he is not playing. Pretty clear to me, of he really wants to play football he will move and maybe have to take a wage cut

    WINSTON BOGARDE - Jason Cundy. Yeah all this, might just be the natural 'cutthroat' end of football... I get it. It's just the sheer extent that Chelsea are virtually ripping up the entire system with disregard to what the fans think, and who they connect with.

      Because Chelsea have the biggest squad that needs trimming. There’s no point letting them train with first team when the squad is so big. And cry me a river about “uprooting their family”. Some families can’t afford to put food on their table, these guys just have to decide what city they want their next mansion in.

    while sterling left QPR for money, left liverpool for money and left city for money. mercenary since he was 14 years old at QPR. then somebody treats him like what he is and he cries about it

    • @magnificentmiz8317
      @magnificentmiz8317 22 วันที่ผ่านมา

      Man City wanted to sell Sterling and Chelsea wanted to buy him.
      Chelsea then offered him a contract.
      Nobody forced them to offer him a Saudi type contract worth a reported 300-350k per week.
      I doubt he has a problem leaving the club, it’s just the way the club has handled it that has probably pissed him off.
      I agree he should of kept his mouth shut and kept it in house.
      Chelsea will have a hard time getting rid of him because no other club will pay them wages, so they will have to subsidise his wages and loan him out or pay him for the remainder of his contract (or at least a year or two)
      How does this make him a mercenary?
      So any player that moves to a bigger club is a mercenary too?
      Make it make sense
      I take it that you would never change your job to go and work for a bigger company for double the wages?
