SILVER ENDEAVOUR departs Greenwich, London on 7th April 2024 at the start of a 14 day, one way trip to Leith, Scotland.
SILVER ENDEAVOUR is an ultra luxurious expedition ship and has a capacity for only 220 guests. Having such a small number of guests means that it can sail to Antarctica and land passengers ashore there. Any ships carrying more than 500 passengers are not able to do this.
SILVER ENDEAVOUR was assisted by the tugs VB AMBITION and VB PETER.

Interesting video, thanks. There was a time (that I’m old enough to remember) that similar sized vessels would regularly pass Greenwich en route to the London Docklands. Spent many happy hours further down the Thames at Gravesend watching vessels heading for all parts of the World.

Thanks for watching and for your kind comments. Yes - I often go to Tilbury / Gravesend myself to watch the vessels go by. It is a shame that they recently stopped the Tilbury / Gravesend ferry since I think it was a useful transport link for the local community.

Very beautifully filmed. It is a great ship. It has two tugs. Has it got a pilot as well? The skyline of London & the ship are well filmed.

Thanks. The two tugs will assist the ship until it passes through the Thames Flood Barrier at Woolwich and then they will be disconnected.
Yes - it does have a pilot on board. The ship was flying the H flag on top beside the British flag but it was a windy day (Storm Kathleen) so I was not able to film the flags clearly.
The pilot will have boarded the ship before it left Greenwich and will take it as far as Gravesend (that was in the FS STYX video).
A new pilot will come on at Gravesend and take it to the port limits. It will then head out into the English Channel since it was heading for Guernsey.

I hope they have good stabilisation the Irish sea has been as rough as, the last few days 🤮. They are currently in St Mary port on the Isle of Man.

Yes - I saw that there was a gale warning issued for the Irish Sea in the latest shipping forecast!
