    When I first came across this series in my recommended I thought: "Really? solo play? How fun could that be?", and here I am patiently waiting each episode to see the next trek of the brave mapper. This is genuinely entertaining please keep it up! I'm very interested in seeing a dungeon delve.

      Thanks! I have begun to delve so you should see videos soon

      @@BanditsKeepActualPlay is this a completely solo game or are you incorporating other players into the "delving" part? Very interested to see what's next 🤔

    This plays like a board game and I love it. My recommendation is, like in board games, have a board with the steps you need to make. Ex: 1- roll to see the moves , 2- move the Maper, 3- pay food/water, 4- look for encounters, 5- advance the clock time. Then you can have a marker on top of what step you are and this way is easier to keep consistency and don’t skip steps

    im very new to DnD and have only played 5e but I am incredibly fascinated with the game and its history; this is such a well made series that provides a lot of insight for my curiosities. the algorithm put a video of yours with only a few hundred views onto my homepage and I clicked since "Actual Solo Play" was very interesting to me but other videos I have watched in the same genre didn't quite click for me. hexcrawls are very fascinating so far and i love imagining how this mapper is feeling and what hes doing in-universe as you play

      I’m glad you found my channel- it’s awesome how such a simple thing like moving the mapper around can allow us to imagine fantastic worlds and the people who live in them.

    I adore this! I think I'll try my hand at it. A couple of things I would suggest--disallow crossing rivers except by ford (or maybe bridge, if you're playing on a hand-drawn map), and that you use d7 instead of d6 to track days.

    • @BanditsKeepActualPlay
      @BanditsKeepActualPlay  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      The river takes 3 moves, I tend to think of that as searching around the area (5 miles) to find a shallow or natural bridge. If you try the crossings only at fords, let me know how it works out. D7 is a good idea, but I don’t have one so I’ll stick to the d6 😊

    Hello Daniel! I am from Japan, and I am trying to do a solo game with OD&D like yours, since it's difficult to find an OSR group here in Japan. Your video inspired me a lot, I just wanted to thank you for your entertaining videos.
    Could you give me some advice? I am trying to give our players a map through gathering rumors in town, but I am not sure how to select a guardian appropriate for each map, and also don't know how to adjust the guardian (difficulty) level to PC's level. Do you think of any good way for this?
    Thank you!

    • @BanditsKeepActualPlay
      @BanditsKeepActualPlay  ปีที่แล้ว

      The book says the guardian should be from the level 6 list, but I do not do that. What I do is look at the value of the map and find a treasure type that could be that value. Then I find a monster with that treasure type. You usually will have a few to choose from, so you can pick one that balances (at least somewhat) with the party level.

    Welp, is it me or thou kept hoping for lair during random encounters, yet thou forgot to roll for both the Cockatrice and the Hill Giants? Also, that Giant Types table is quite funky: giant Gnome? welp that a first. XP

    • @BanditsKeepActualPlay
      @BanditsKeepActualPlay  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Giant type is just a term they use, not really sure why- perhaps they are related like the Fey creatures are in later editions? Yeah, I sometimes forget to roll the lairs - I may need to make a cheat sheet

    Your sessions aren't in the right order. It goes newest to oldest. Which makes for a huge pain when trying to watch in order just listening while I work. Each new video I have to open my phone up and select the next video, otherwise it plays the previous video.

    • @BanditsKeepActualPlay
      @BanditsKeepActualPlay  10 หลายเดือนก่อน

      It’s set up that way so people who are caught up get the newest first
