I think the 3D helps in a way, because the characters have physical models you can't cheat as much in animation by having limbs extend for no reason plus size consistency. AOT was really bad with that, there's one scene where a titan is three different sizes based off camera angle
Watched this show, and loved it. Until I started the manga from first chapter, and realised how much the show lacked...moreso in info than the battles Still love it though 😁
Same here, Kengan Asura's most core element is the author's sheer love of all martial arts and his great character writing in their little interactions. It's a shame that the show cannot showcase all of this but very understandable as the technique breakdowns and little moments work better in the manga format.

Yoshinari was nowhere near the level required to reach the top of the life or death Kengan tournament, but was very lucky in having a respectful opponent like Saw Paing. Someone who gave his all on the ring but isn't an animal like Akoya. That allowed him to have one hell of a fight.

Kuroki is the strongest being to ever exist that he didn't even have anyone to fight with and trained alone and he took down Kiryu and Kanoh Agito with 0 injuries. And I mean ZERO. Meanwhile Ohma can barely beat Sekibayashi but here he goes destroying S tier character after S tier character. His first fight with hair dude is so stupid. What is Ohma even supposed to do if the hair dude just kept him latched on and didn't let go and kept pounding him across the floor? Nothing, but of course, he had to let him go. Ohma straight up lost to Raian, unconscious. Then Raian does some bs for no reason, Ohma gets up and somehow beats Raian who is like 10 tiers above him at power level at this point. Then he magically heals up to full overnight and not only heals but grows 2x as strong beats other god tier characters that are way above him. And who exactly has "more plot armor". Using your logic, no one else won the tournament except Kuroki, so no one has plot armor but Kuroki? But Kuroki is actually that strong, that's not plot armor. The only other person who has plot armor is Cosmo and I agree he shouldn't have beaten Akoya but difference is Cosmo actually has fight experience against these types of fighters and he knows the other fighters. Ohma just went in blind against characters way stronger and came second LOL.

Its literally explained that raian didnt use any of the kure clan techniques and wanted to see more of his power, he only lost because he wanted to decimate ohma even more and humiliate him, which cost him the match. Ohma literally gets a power up after raian by regaining more memories of his training with Niko, including the ultimate techniques of the individual kata and the demons bane. This is absolutely shown with his fight with waka. He never wouldve won without those other techniques. Give the series a second read man. Plot armor wouldve been him simply winning with the same shit weve seen him use. Hell we even see him use his imagination to fight other fighters for more experience, while it might not be a lot it still shows us hes learning even more.
Yoshinari, I have the feeling that if he thought about the fishing and harbor he would just have the pump to get up and beat the shit out of him. I liked the fisherman the most, he was so cold.
