I remember reading the manga for this fight and I’m still sad by its ending and especially for the talk between saw paing and Gaolang after the fight you could feel gaolangs anger because of his decision to not fight anymore especially after all his talk about being his rival but he never really understood why saw paing couldn’t do it this fight was probably one of the best ones story wise

When I read Saw Peing lost to Rei I was angry that the simp won.
But when Goalong's released his anger at Saw Peing I KNEW Goalong would regret it. It would've been weird, anticlimactic and disappointing if Agito lost
(prior to seeing the match, while and after seeing their match it would've made sense since Agito was too cocky and full of himself, instant karma)
Having an antagonist (Agito) lose, just for 2 side characters settle their rivalry, that's bad. I was surprised how Goalong lost, but it made me even more hype to see Saw Peing vs Goalong have (an on panel/camera) rematch since it's clear they are closer after both losing their matches

Heres a fun fact for any Saw Pang fans. On top of having the thickest and toughest skull in the world, that thing is also a lethal weapon.
Saw Pang has killed or crippled most of the opponents he fought in Kengan matches using The Hammer of Burhma. Once you take that hit, chances are you're not getting back up.

I saw some improvements too, like the 3D blood in the air in slow mo scenes looks amazing, and some characters got amazing facial expressions, you can see that in kuroki specially
Yeah the animation is top tier but they downgraded a bit on the action itself you feel me? The fights feel "slower" than the past seasons

A LOT of the contestants for a major buff. All's looking good for Saw Paing, many fighters (not all, about 4 are never mentioned again that weren't anything special)
Personally I'm very curious about Haruo's potential and growth. His leg is still in pain from his match with Akoya, funny enough he purposely didn't let it recover since Sekibyashi said 'worth through the pain' and he did since leaving the island

main rule when fighting against someone faster than you in striking is force them to slow down to your tempo. This is very realistic and had been done in sports. One of the best real life example is superlek vs takeru, where superlek masterfully picks apart takeru's flurry aggression for 5 rounds straight (prob 3 or 4 tho)
After witnessing this match my respect for these two went up. Paing for trying to protect his people. Rei for using his version of the lightning spirit style.

Looked like he was trying to throw an elbow, not a headbutt at the end. In the Manga I coulda swore he went for a headbutt and got countered.
Either way, that headbutt counter was absolute bullshit. At that downward angle, the chin would be tucked. No fucking way you're gonna get a fist under it.

For the record we actually find out that this fighting style has a huge weakness. Its not made for drawn out battles.
The Lightning Spirit style is made for one shotting opponents and very linear attacks. Its a style that was specifically made to not be paried, blocked, or evaded and it relies solely on the speed of the user. The first attack is always the most important and whether it lands or not is a very crucial factor.
Basically. The worst person to fight using this style are tanks like Jun, Haruo, Gensai, and Julius. Bc these fuckers can tank hits. The moment you get tired. Its over. Youre done. Bc like i said, the style relies on the speed of the user to make the attacks work. Without it. Its very very weak.

If someone kicks Reis shin, breaks his foot or damages his kneecap. He slows down and now the fighting style is completely useless.
Your legs get taken out or they get crippled it's over.
It's a cool fighting style unfortunately it's very predictable. Julius especially would be the worst opponent Rei could ever face bc he's just a massive wall of muscle. And the other big drawback to the Lightning spirit style is that certain moves have a tendency to hurt the user if done enough times.
Don't forget the long arm dude.
Honestly, the fact that it takes characters like this to Stonewall the style really goes to show how dangerous it is.

what if saw paing use both of his arms and grabbed reis arm in the end and kicked him with all his might? instead of the headbud? because reis ability to cancel his headbud is so fking bug
Saw did a down ward elbow, Rei was too low to be grabbed.
Saw best option in that moment was to throw a knee to hit Rei as he delivers his rising double uppercut. But alas, they were in the heat of the moment hard to think of the best option when things are going on too fast
@@neththeobnoxioussponge8929 yeah. he should have just took few steps back and think of another tactic. dont have to just tank reis attack like that. his been tanking the whole round. throw a knee would probably work. but if rei blocks it than its uselss. dont know what he can do after he somehow hits rei after his throwing knee. are you talking about the move he did earlier? jumped up with a knee blow or just a knee kick?
@@scisfoodsucks just a normal knee. it's a reason why you don't see much boxing headmovement in kickboxing or muay Thai. they're in a constant risk of getting hit with knees or kicks. trust me, knees hurt a lot that would've hit rei's face or chin and knocked him out.
even if he blocked it, rei would be at a disadvantage since he's crouching. so saw paing might use this as an opportunity of getting him into a clinch and repeatedly knee him until he gets knocked out or at least break his guard if rei's blocking. If Saw paing didn't clinch him, Knees deliver a lot of power so he'd probably get pushed down, putting himself at an even worse position.
plus let's also consider saw paing's strong bones, he'll probably deliver even more stronger knees with his nigh unbreakable bones
@@neththeobnoxioussponge8929 i just thought of the ending combo. he kicks rei legs until his unable to move fast. and than charge at reis face right on with his head. like saw paing facing down and just covering his chin and charging foward to hit rei with the top of his head. that should work. so its not possible for rei to target his chin and use that skill again

Waaaaayyy better as an MMA anime, but that’s just my opinion you might prefer Bakis style though I do find it a lil goofier/bizarre for my taste lol
Kengan Ashura has more emphasis on tactics over the fights with a lot of semi-realistic chereography.
Generally better in terms of action for me, because it's much more fluid, more creative, pays respect and homage to all msrtial arts, less exposition and better characters
