our delivery vehicle which is a 2011 honda fit belt broke today after 430,000 miles, had to muscle it over the alternator pulley

I dont understand removing the wheel. I just did this job in 5 minutes from the top of the engine with a craftman open end wrench. I'm really baffled by what made it so challenging to get the new belt on??

Is this different of 2005 model right? Because a saw a couple videos saying that I have to loose 2 bolts from the alternator..
