Great video . How did you manage the grazing for the 10 in 7. When you were on the oda milking had you to move the cows in the evening to a new paddock or had you set up paddocks to suit oad milking at the weekend?
Ya might have been better to do the trial with 2 groups in the same year so you are comparing like with like. One on twice a day and the other on 10in7
Would you ever consider oad milking. I was 10 and 7 from Sept and went oad from I st of Nov when cows were housed.sell count stayed the same ..worked well.for me and had no labour on farm since August..only issue was cows became a bit unsettled for first few weeks .did you do 24 hour grazing on the oad days on ten and 7
Moorepark would be around 5000 litres a cow & shockwaves if she happened to eat ration, this system of 10 in 7 is fine for late lactation but wouldnt work on a high yielding cow@@daireharlin181
Super informative video, thanks for posting. Certainly something for most dairy farmers to consider going forward
You are a natural educator, well done
Interesting episode !
Hi, a fantastic channel, great information with very clear education 👏
Love to see your ways of reducing scc in problem cows?
Keep the good work up.
Brilliant video, thank you

A mix of both but mainly we moved them because we don't have many paddocks big enough for long grazing like that
@10:54 what's the blue plastic drum for? Is it to get the cows moving quicker backwards off the rotary?
Yes it's just to help get cows off
nice interesting video

Yes that would be more accurate. That's what they did in Moorepark
how much is your electricity cost for 1 milking?
In not sure I'm must work that out
Went through callan today is it possible to view a milkitg
We are all dry now
Going through callan again shortly Possible to view a milking now ?

Don't think we would go to OAD full-time. But I wouldn't rule it out. We usually moved the cows on the OAD as most of our paddocks aren't big enough
Would 10 and 7 work for 10,000 litre holsteins
Moorepark are doing trials not sure of cow volume
No it won’t. Different system. Think those 10,000l herds are milked closer to 3 times a day
I'm not sure but I don't think it would
