Great job Mark milked on a 60 unit dairymaster myself for a few years unreal the amount of cows that can be milked efficiently in a short space of time. Friend of mine done a lot work on your parlour spoke very highly of the set up. Great job wel done
WOW awesome video. You guys have alot to remember to do. Definitely work for your money. Thank you for all you do to deliver a fresh product to people🧑🎄🎄🎁
Awesome job, great skills, milking and filming the same time! Now I even have more appreciation for the perfect milk I can buy each day at the supermarket. Thank you very much!
The platform's final drive might be a hydraulic clutch(es) which would explain the progressive start. Electric possible as well. That's a lot of inertia to overcome.
Wow fancy milking parlour….. never seen a GEA one before!!! 60 units?? God your heard must be milked in jig time 🤔😁 great video lad very interesting!!!
How does the cow get back of this rotary system after milking ? I don't think that it get back just after opening the (door). There must be some electric pulse or signal or something like this that push the cow to get of the machine.
No most cows will back off by themselves. When they do it once they know then. We do have an empty drum hanging down infront incase the cows aren't paying attention
Those filters are reusable I have a Gea too and get couple of weeks out of those filters just rinse off well after first wash and put back in The hot water and detergent bring them up like new again!
Yes correct. A lot of other brands use gravity to drop the retention bar every time and the ram to lift it everytime. Whereas here a spring holds it up and a ram brings it down when it is needed. So it's not working as much so less wear and tear
great video, we are putting a 54 bale waikato in currently which will look very similar to this parlour. would be great to have a video looking at all your rails and locations of rails in the yard for some ideas. at the entrance to the deck do you find cows flow in nice on an angled front or not? we are being advised to have it square but that just doesn't seem logical. would be nice to scratch your head a bit and see what if there are areas you would change or anything else etc.
Discovering your channel .. great video.. 340 /390 cows .. means how many litres of gallons of milk produced per per year ? Cow performance to get an idea ? Very impressive…
@@MCMilkingItthanks for reply. am a sheep farmer so wouldn't have an idea about the cost or other factors involved. Just follow you and two other dairy farmers on TH-cam and enjoy the videos.

Milk the odd time in a new GEA herringbone, Lovely parlour, Only criticismsare NF at this time of year and also find the vacuum to be a little low but that can probably be adjusted.
It's probably a soft start motor that turns the parlour. A two stage plate cooler would suit you if you don't already have one. It cools with running water and ice Bank water.
Depends on how much milk the cows have and that but usually between 6 and 8 minutes per rotation. Would normally milk 300/350 cows an hour and when really moving can get that up to 400 cows an hour
...And Africa we're still struggling to change constitution to make more seats for lousy politicians, current politicians to have a hefty retirement package and pensions incase they loose election.
Every dairy I have seen, and my own, use this Standard practice. Plus your cows don’t look that clean. and you should consider cleaning your milk filter more often
Machines or not, the farmer’s life ain’t easy, hat’s off.
I'm in New Zealand and just got in from morning milking 308 cows, then watched an Irish man milk cows while I have breakfast.
I must love cows LOL
Hahaha same here, on what's meant to be a day off the farm I've gone and milked cows with a mate and now I watch this

I was wondering that as well, thanks for the reply.
Have GEA plant myself. Had problems milking out heifers. Shorten time till milk meter meters. Much better. Are those Lic cows
I turned mine down a bit too 👍 yes we use some LIC bulls
That's quite the process!

The coolest paurlor is a 16 stall rotary parlor but the cows uders face the midle insted but now its probably yours keep going👍
well...that setup cost a couple bucks...friendly banker?
Decades of hard work and yes, lots of debt 😅
Zaujímavé video 👌👌👌
Some parlour. So the retaining bar is up all the time unless a cow needs a second rotation? I thought it would be down until just before exit

A busy man
what is the blue drum on a rope for
Encourage the cows to get off/let them know it's where they get off

No solar panels yet but will probably put some up in the furture

About 6,000litres/cow. 480kgMS/cow
Greetings. Why do you need antennas at the entrance if you have antennas at every place?
The antennas at the entrance didn't work so they had to put them in every stall after
A MAGNIFICENT VIDEO ,HOW DIFFICULT ,And how long does it take to train newly calved heifers into the routine
Very quick now, once the get on once they are flying it 👍 and a lot go on handy enough first time
What’s the purpose of the bucket on the rope at the start of the parlour ?
To get the cows to back off the platform.
@@kevinbiggs7428 that's exactly it 👍
Do you always use so much water. Do you recycle
We use the water from the plate cooler to wash down
Which company milk parlour you have ?
GEA
@@MCMilkingIt thnx for your quick reply 🙏🙏
It's a great setup. Just wondering why ye would have this parlour instead of robots? Would there not be less work with robots?
Robots would be a lot more expensive for our herd size and in my opinion robots don't suit our system as it is a spring calving grass-based system

What encourages the cows to leave the platform and do ye feed meal while milking
We do feed meal, it's training really but the cows knowing they going back out to grass
@@MCMilkingIt thanks
What kgMS do you peak at and what production does a cow do per season?
Peak at about 2.3-2.4kgMS/cow and produce about 510kgMS/cow per season.
Why the blue barl on the platform. Thanks.
Broken unit

Ya the NF is a pain at the back end
Do you do the milking by yourself or do you have a helper
One person milking
Wiy do you have stalls booked
The ones with barrels are broken

How do you get your cows to come on to the parlor of their own free will
What are your kgs per cow this year
450kg/MS

It's probably a soft start motor that turns the parlour. A two stage plate cooler would suit you if you don't already have one. It cools with running water and ice Bank water.
Ya we have the 2 stage plate cooler 👍
What happens to the male calves?
All the male and beef calves are sold either directly from our farm or through the mart
How long does it take to do a full rotation and how long does it take to do the 400 cows plus are you on snapchat
Depends on how much milk the cows have and that but usually between 6 and 8 minutes per rotation. Would normally milk 300/350 cows an hour and when really moving can get that up to 400 cows an hour
Sorry not on snapchat, just Instagram
Why dont the cows have full length tails?
That's their natural tail length. We trim the hair to keep the udder clean
serious operation
isnt this dangerous for the cows? What if they get stuck while trying to get out but if they are to slow
There are safety switches and sensors to stop the platform if a cow isn't on or off fully
@@MCMilkingIt thanks for your reply. I am going to subscribe to your channel. Greetings from Turkey
No offence but when you have that much spent on a parlour surely that pallet could be replaced with something better.
Haha I always get that 🤣 will make up some gate for it in the future
Every self-respecting Irish farmer has to use a pallet at least once a day. I don't see any baling twine though.
good day how to apply in your company?
