    Kudos to the organisers of the Logitech G Challenge (SGP) who banned the cheating driver after an investigation. One of the ways cheating can be minimised is by organisers stamping down on it hard when someone is found out.

    1- There are some streamers that do seem to be racing on rails, which is really odd to me. No TC activation, no sliding, just traction all over.
    2- The worst thing on sim racing at the moment is actually the sim racers.

    Mmmm....as a software dev I'm not sure I can agree with your theory that new software is somehow more secure. Does it involve newer ways of thinking? Sure. But sometimes those newer ways of thinking are full of security holes. Keep in mind, new games also come with new bugs that create new kinds of exploits that current developers may be entirely unaware of. The general truth with software is that as it gets older (assuming it is well maintained

      I think it's more an issue with the games we have specifically. Kunos has never really been good at multiplayer, rF2 is a fundamentally flawed mess, and the F1 games are yearly cash grabs. A new game isn't necessarily more secure, you're right, but I think it'd be more secure than what we have now.

    I would love to go back to ACC from Iracing.. but the lack of adequate session hosting and matchmaking turned me off fast. Love the tracks, Love the cars.. but in open lobby there was not enough variety. Push that idea foward to LFM... great idea.. but felt like an elitist club at times. So for now I will stay in IRACING. I would like to see ACC mimic the structure of LFM and Iracing, or... I'd love to see IRACING enhance their graphics and audio. Anti cheat software seems easy enough to implement. But there are times where live stewarding is critical, as well as clear rules and consequences.

      @@rickswanracing3139 and to get clean races you need to be a relatively high ELO driver. In iRacing if you get everyone 1k iRating but A, B, C licences it's gonna be slow but clean most of times. LFM guys say that it's because of the nature of racing you get stupid accidents from time to time and all that mess. But I believe it's because of the lack of race craft which LFM doesn't really incentives to improve.

    • @rickswanracing3139
      @rickswanracing3139 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@danbaranov I think the third comment is the most important part of the discussion. I've seen plenty of drivers be fast alone on a track, but the minute put them in traffic they cant manage it. I believe you are correct, t comes down to raceraft. Thats why in a way having a benchmark for nothing more than speed for group entry, may not be effective or accurate. As well IM not so sure about how "clean" LFM really is, I cant get in. I have 1600 irating and 4.99 safety, but at least on the track i was being tested on, I couldnt pass the arbitrary measure. he response I heard alot was "practice more". But then on the flipside I see content creators and influencers complaining about how even in LFM, and higher split iracing... people still act stupid. SO how is then how valuable is it to have that measurement for entry? This is where I feel Iracing nails it: there is a place for everyone to race regardless of skill, but they are effective at matchmaking across the board. This is something that it sounds like LFM and or ACC could benefit from. I bought ACC last summer and played it for about a month. At the end of the month after only seeing abot 3 tracks being recycled in the queues, and a pretty poor level of racecraft in the open servers, and almost exclusively GT3 content, I migrated back to Iracing.

    Competition makes people/teams look for any edge for a competitive edge, sim racing is just emulating real life. Cheating in IRL motorsport is rife, not to mention doping in cycling etc. It will always happen, all you can do is try and stop it with anti cheat and make the punishments suitable to put people off or allow whistle blowing.
    iRacing always gets a lot of flack for it's costs and age, but I'd argue the cheating on iRacing is exploits and breaking rules in the code of conduct, not so much hacks and rouge software to add more grip. This, IMO, makes iRacing the platform least likely to have cheats in it.

    One solution would be to switch to a console ecosystem (Xbox, PlayStation) that is completely closed like Gran Turismo E-sports uses. In the past, sims on consoles weren't the best experience, but now, Series X and PS5 can easily handle current day sim calculations while running at over 60fps. I know elitist will scoff at this idea, but there is a reason console players hate cross play with PC users: Rampant cheating. Of course, people would find ways to try and cheat on consoles (modded controls), but it still takes away a big part of cheating on PC, and that's third party hacks that plague most competitive PC games. Just a suggestion...

    • @KDiiX
      @KDiiX ปีที่แล้ว +1

      even if its just a suggestion its a really bad suggestion, possibly of someone never had a decent pc. consoles not only "werent the best experience" they still far of beeing the best expierience. do consoles support ultrawidescreens 5120x1440 at 120 fps? or tripple screen setups? do consoles support any sim racing hardware like vrs, simucube, heusinkveld, motion rig etc.?
      what you get on console sim racing is even a small portion of the "entrylevel" sim racing stuff that is available on pc. and i know console players dont like to hear that, but a console is just a shittier version of a pc. and its also far of beeing a closed ecosystem. but yes console players hate cross play, cause it grant an excuse beeing bad. not saying that they dont have to face cheaters, but trust me in generall 9 out 10 time someone calls someone a cheater in your voice cheat he probably just got his ass kicked.
      even thinking console sim racing experience can compete with pc sim racing experience is brutally naive

      @@KDiiX You're the kind of elitist that gives Sim Racing and PC users a bad name. So many arrogant assumptions that are just plain wrong... But that doesn't matter because all you care about is feeling superior. Do you think anybody is going to take anything you wrote seriously with that attitude (I know, you're just "stating facts!")?
      For the record, I've owned plenty of high end PCs and sim racing equipment as well as consoles. I can see the merit of switching to a closed ecosystem to help combat cheating. If consoles are good enough for a lot of E-Sports, then they can be good enough for sim racing IF they work with the right organizations like some already do. But again, none of this matters because you thought this was a slam dunk to vomit your elitist crap all over. Wrong. You're not that special, kid.

    • @KDiiX
      @KDiiX ปีที่แล้ว +1

      basically there isnt any promise at all beside "its the biggest acc ever had" and that they implement a couple of new cars. nothing else is said or confirmed at all, as far as i know its just made up speculations and hopes of the community. if its really coming soon tbh why the fuck they dont give a roadmap at least for the next couple of month or even for the next update? for me it seems to be real clear that they let the door open to back out of stuff they cant finish in time, which actually sadly means to me that the "big changes" wont work mostly right now. in the end i guess we get those announced cars, reworked setup presets, "fixed" bop(which most likely doesnt fix anything just change something, i mean the latest bop changes didnt worked out quite good), making setups more realistic( even if some may think this is a big thing, but actually that doesnt change anything at all its not even in the category "nice to have" because in the end its totally meaningless if you have the same driving experience but then you dont set it to max toe but a more realistic value. would we have any benefit of that? no, just some people would be smiling because its better for the "immersion". and still i am sure kunos will promote that change big time, while in the end its the least problematic thing about acc)
      i hope i am on that forecast completely wrong, but tbh kunos did nothing in the past year that makes me to optimistic.

    It's not perfect, but iRacing has had client-side anti-cheat (as well as obvious server side stuff) since I started driving it. At the very least games like ACC need to look at some client-side anti-cheat. Again, it's not perfect, but it covers a lot of the low hanging fruit situations. Obviously iRacing has competition "cheating" issues, like the apron stuff at Daytona this year, but straight data manipulation cheating like "grip hacks" are much less common in iRacing and require a lot more work by the cheat makers to both make the original cheat and keep it updated to continue working.
    Anti-cheat aside, we need to look at every day online racing and eSports through a very different lens here. High tier eSports races should be done on LAN, with organizer controlled PC hardware. It's one thing to occasionally run in to a cheater in my regular every day racing. It's annoying, and measures like anti-cheat should be in place to help, but at worst I've lost some time and some rating...not 5 or 6 figures in money and sponsorship. Very different if high tier eSports is being ruined by cheating, where peoples careers and livelihoods are directly influenced by the outcome.
