@@ShadowmercypXXV most gaming companies are earning humongous profits year after year. Piracy made their products popular and now they are eating the fruits. Netflix and Prime is majorly popular in India because of pirated content only which made people appreciate a different art form, and then when people liked the content, they chose to buy their subscription. Gangs of Wasseypur is so famous coz of intense piracy here, otherwise not many would have even knew that it existed. I don't think even once when I'm pirating any product from top companies, those companies are already earning billions.

When I was a youngster, I engaged in a lot of piracy, but after being involved in our community and starting to make money, I started purchasing games.

bro u made a one thing relatable for me is that lack of online trust thing. normally mine parents would buy me 1-2 games a year but unfortunately when watch dogs legion realease i bought it in ubisoft game store and i havent even got the game till now from the date of realease.i even went to support section but it didnt helped me thats why now mine parents lack in online.

All of the reasons are true but I think the Indian mindset, unwilling parents and lack of enforcement of laws are the biggest reasons. In other countries people have to think thrice before pirating something because they can actually go to jail for but but here we don't think for a second before pirating something. Maybe this this will change in the years to come but i think piracy is something that will be very hard to remove from India because it's not just games that are pirated but almost everything

All of them are very true but there is some point I like to mention
11. *bad internet connection:* before Jio Fiber or Jio 4G we used to download games in 60-120kbps which can took a week to complete 10-15GB download
12. *large size in gaming:*
This is biggest reason why people still use prepack or compression installation on gaming , because new game size is crossing over 100GB where most of people don't have unlimited internet connection I heard some countries provide 1TB for a month so instead downloading 100GB GTA + 10GB update from epic /Steam store you'll ended using Repack version which is around 70% compression than actual game which take some installing the game on your PC but it'll save your internet data
13. *your laptop is become outdated for new games:* where most of new games are require SDD, RTX GPU also latest windows 10/11 which supports Direct X 12 I don't think anyone has laptop which have SDD or RTX GPU because most of gaming have low end pc which is only used for school/college project or office work if they want to do gaming on laptop they have spend expensive money on buying expensive laptop which is one time investment , so they don't want to spend ₹4k-5k for buying games on Steam or epic game stores

14. *Thanks to epic game store free games on every week:* most of Indian use epic game to add good things on their account because it's totally free you don't have to pay your money also that game is totally legit you can play that game without risk on virus from shady website

1) You are from a middle class family and you spent all pocket nd Stipend Money on buying RDR 2, GTA 5, Battlefield, Witcher etc all together 50000/- and you are using GTX card.
2) Your friend is also from middle class family and he Purchased a GPU for 50000 with his pocket and stipend money, and that is RTX card 🥰, he is pirating all the games.

Sad reality of india. This is because most Indians are using a potato pc or old rusty laptop to play games so they don’t find it worth to spend money on real games. Hopefully gamepass and ps plus let’s them access games without piracy.
If you are a student you know that your parents will not spend money on games because they think gaming is a distraction. Ask them the same amount of money you had spent on the game for books and they'll not even think twice before handing you the money.

Being a doctor, even i have to think about paying 5000 for a game. So can't even imagine ki teenagers ko unke parents itne paise denge. So to promote legal gaming business in India, prices have to be reduced drastically.
Just as an example, kuch saal pahle tak maximum log MP3 ya FLAC download karte the for listening & that led to loss of revenue to studios. Buy aaj mobile data is dirt cheap. So everyone just streams it from amazon or tidal or jiosavan etc. So piracy has nearly stopped. Music artists & Studios are getting their money & people are listening to music legally.
Aisa hi kuch karna chahiye game developers ko India me. Prices for Indian region should be much lower than their USA counterparts. Like COD-MW2 should have been maximum upto 500 for campaign & 1000 for full multiplayer etc. Other games should be priced around Rs 500-800. Then only more people will pay for it.

I purchase many gamrs now like rdr2, witcher 3, many multiplayer games too, like 9-10 games but still I mostly pirate singleplayer titles😁
The reason I pirate games is because the price is never adjusted to Indian Purchasing power. I mostly buy later on sales, but these days even the "discounted" price is way too steep for Indian market. Barring Call of Duty franchise almost every other games get cracked in a few months.
Another reason is also that the computer hardware itself is ridiculously expensive in India. Once you are completely drained building that mid/high end PC, you no longer have the will to pay exorbitant amounts on games too.
Mainly parents don't think that one should spend money on games

If the game companies try and reduce the prices of their games in a way which keeps in mind the purchasing power of the Indian rupees compared to the us dollar, I think then this problem of piracy will be significantly decreased.
The United states and European countries are their biggest markets . If Indians were a big share as they are , it would have been valid

You won't believe,I played And completed RdR2,Gow4,GtaV, Ac Odyssey and more games and only spended 5 dollars for that.also recently released uncharted 4.
Finally I'm a 24yr old doing job now I earn more than enough money for my expenses and enough on my every month savings even then I can atleast afford one new game per month I'm against piracy since the beginning even before I had the job

All of the reasons are correct what you mentioned in this video. Moreover since I no longer live in India and staying in Germany for the past 4 years. Here the laws for piracy are much stricter in comparison to India. For example, if you ever try to torrent here your IP address is tracked and you’ll have to pay a fine of around 1000-3000€ equivalent to 2.5 lakhs INR depending on the file size you downloaded illegally.
The problem here in India is that laws are made already. However people have already figured out the loophole for it. Moreover I have stopped piracy completely be it buying films or buying games.
Another barrier is that games are highly priced in India. But people should wait for sales and discounts. For example, on launch fifa games cost around 5000 but on Black Friday it costs around 2000 only.
Moreover game companies never include south Asian countries in their profit margins. Because they know there is a huge piracy in this regions. That’s the reason why some developers like EA stopped making Indian centric games i.e. cricket games. After cricket 07 no more cricket games are developed by EA. Because they faced a lot of losses and had poor sales since there intended target market was Indian subcontinent.

Unless I start earning like ₹100k and above I will never buy a game. They cost like ₹3k for newest released titles, and just buying 3-5 games would cost you 10-15k a month, remember that this figure is literally the entire income of many people. Unless they make regional pricing or our entire GDP increases 2-3x piracy will never decrease

And suppose a certain game is coming in future lets margin 3 to 6 months before release I simply start saving money each month for such expensive games (for example adding 500 to steam wallet each month from my earnings).

Did piracy of movie, games and software as most of the paid versions are really out of budget. But thanks for "Epic Games"& steam sales game like GTA V, Tomb Raider series i am able to play them Free. Or some games get really at cheap price in sales. But yes latest game i still not able to play coz its too costly and my system is not that much of upgraded. So Still have HDD full of pirated games 7 to 8 years old one.
But paid versions really have feature and run very smoothly on pc.

Let me share my experience here
I used to back up my photos in my pc every year.....almost 4-5 years worth of pics. Thousands of memories were in my pc . That way i used to keep my memory clear in phone.
Tho pirating games never hurted me , even tho pirated were somehow slower , didn't support multiplayer , and somehow their file size were larger for god knows what reason.
All these reasons never bothered me at all.
One day , i needed to use MS word for a project but didn't wanted to buy it.... student or online version was not an option.
So ovio....i got it from pirate bay for free.
ABSOLUTE worst mistake i ever made
Shocker, that was a goddamn virus
And not just your every day virus that you can kick out by deleting files or antivirus....nopes
It was a ransomware virus.
For those who don't know about ransomware virus , trust me ....this thing will wreak havoc on your computer.
With seconds that virus pushed my GPU 2060 super to its very edge, it was using it and my internet to make copies of itself all over the system....copies that can't even be detected.....i pulled the ethernet.
That calmed the gpu but the damage was done
Now i have had my fare share of viruses and usually they never caused any probs to me.
But this bastard of a virus , it encrypted every single one of my photos, even those that were in my external hard drive.
Not just photos , documents Gone , songs gone
Thank god i didn't store any important info there
But the worst thing for me was to lose 5 years worth of memories.
Ransomware can't be cracked unless you are a genius or you have a key.
So i used my last ditch effort and reinstalled windows. Ouch
After that
I decided to stay from pirated stuff
Whether it's games or softwares
They are not worth the risk for me.
Sure if you don't mind if your laptop or computer gets laggy or wrecked all to hell completly
Or if you think you don't have anything important on your system
Then sure , pirate as much as you want.
But maturity advice is , if you can afford to buy the actual stuff then just buy it.
Yes you paid for smthing you could hv got for free
But atleast there is no risk or headache at all.
So plz pirate stuff ONLY if its necessary.

I too lost my 10 year of childhood, family pics to qqjj ransomware. I had to now back it all up to cloud, in hope if some online key is decrypted for it in my lifetime. I may or may not be able to see those memories before i die.

I had a ps 4 pro and I have purchased used one for 27k i got only 1 controller and no games in 1 year I spent 3k for ps plus and another side I have purchased some games worth 35k and in that 35k cod games are 2 cost 11k and I have purchased a joystick cost 10k so total I spent 63k in a year for purchasing console,games, joystick and for new AAA title games are going above 6k so I'm spending 5.5k every month and I can't even get any coupons to apply so I have sold my ps4 and purchased a gaming pc for 125k now I can pirate a game so I can know is that game worthy for playing or not and when purchasing games i can get coupons so I can buy games at more cheap cost and there are few websites sells games almost 50% off the company's need to sell games at less cost 5k for a games is too much in India

I bought original Prince of Persia Warrior Within back in 2006 after saving for months. It was expensive, but I loved the game when I pirated it and I genuinely believed the studio not only deserved it, but it'd help them continue to make amazing games. Oh how naive I was.
Now the company is so bad, they can't even authenticate original game keys properly, deteriorate genuine owner experience with harmware like Denuvo, and make substandard games that are mostly soulless cash grabs.
Nope. Not only have I lost interest in playing new games, I never support AAA studios day 1 now either. I only buy originals on Steam/GOG/Itch when they fall below 500 bucks on a sale. Even if I have to wait years for it. The current gaming market is outright travesty and completely disconnected with genuine gamers, catering only to a the rich or addicts to milk their pockets.
