I have used this method to build my credit to £5000 in total spread across a few cards. I have only used £230 to buy a tumble dryer and paying off over 3 months so i don't pay interest and i put small subscriptions like netflix on my cards and set a direct debit to pay bill in full. This keeps them active and looking like i manage my credit well. I did this over a course of 18months. I am aiming for £10,000 credit in time for getting my mortgage. That should help cover any major emergencies like needing a new boiler or the roof needs repairing.
Singleton Peach I don’t understand the last bit of your comment....having a £10,000 credit limit to pay for emergencies is very risky.....wouldn’t a much better way be to build a emergency fund, that way if something happens, you don’t go into debt. Such good advice! I use credit cards in all the positive ways you highlighted. I have a teenage daughter, I wonder if she listens to me, as I try to teach her life skills, so I send her your videos. I honestly wish I could get people like yourself into schools, your delivery is everything.
I wish this channel was around when I came to 18. Credit cards, store cards, finances and loans up to my eyeballs! Checking those debt links in the down bar but they weren’t there! Anyone help?👌🏼 amazing as always Patricia x
My dad was a first generation finance college student that educated himself and subsequently his kids about finances. He is still learning and teaching me along the way. I’m so grateful for that education. They really should teach this stuff in school from a young age but happy we have channels like this to learn from.
Credit cards are very useful and I believe people should get one the second they turn of age BUT only if they are smart with their money. I have too many friends that have gotten into bad financial situations because of them, KNOWLEDGE DETERMINES THIS! They really should teach this in school, its kinda evil haha if not used properly. Thanks for this video!! There are also a lot of online resources as well if youre not in the UK since some countries have different rules etc.
I was so lucky that the executive at the bank explained me the dates and deadlines and to always pay all the credit to avoid interest, he was so nice I was so young and I have never had debt, but I get great credit offers now. So important to know how to use it!!!
YouTanyaTube I got a credit card just before I reserved my first house to build up my credit score as I’d never had credit before. I got a points credit card so I get vouchers to spend on the high street once I have enough points to redeem. To build up my credit, I used to only use my card for petrol at the beginning of the month and then pay if off straight away. Definitely one of the best things I did as my credit score is amazing. Nowadays I use my credit card for that protection for when I’m booking things for my wedding, for holidays etc. Once again another informative and fun video Patricia :) xxxx
Credit card debt-free and loving it. I use (mainly) 2 credit cards for automatic payments for subscriptions like Netflix, gifts, and personal purchases that I pay off right away. I used all the tips and committed the "don't do" as well along the way. Presently, I am paying off my car loan of $8,000. I am in my late 50s and my credit card debt was $25,000 to $30, 000. I had to move out of my rental back home and start over financially. Now I need to let my money make me money. I want to learn about investing to generate income while in retirement.
I'm now 36 and because I still haven't fully mastered the concept of being a good money manager, I have never gotten a credit card due to fear of course! But you explained some points that I never knew of before but I intend to exercise all for the sake of building a "credit score". Thanks Patricia. XOXO
I have been using my credit card to improve my credit rating for 5 years now ,this is a great advise . Always cover the amount you spent in full by the end of the month ladies please .
I've done something similar. Get a funds transfer into your current account. The handling fee these days is between 2 and 4 % and the balance is usually interest free for at least 18 months ( more on some cards.) The handling fee is well below the rate of inflation, so as long as you are using the money to buy capital appreciating assets ( eg gold or shares) then you are investing using none of your own money. Pay the minimum payment ( between .5 and 1% of the sum borrowed) on a direct debit. When the interest free period runs out, you need a way of paying it back. Or you can use another card to transfer the balance.
Withdrawing money on credit card is an interesting one particularly when abroad. I found out it was a lot cheaper to withdraw money on my credit card in a country like Comoros than when I did on my debit card. I travel a lot but haven't paid attention to this until I was in Comoros. It might be same for many other locations as well.
I don't have a credit card at 23, but I'm looking towards making more money outside of student finance income / Bank of family. I'm looking into more of a pre-paid card and actually building my credit line to start a business in general. Thank you for this video, it's nice to have the U.K. version of finance.
Great tips! For years I was overspending on credit cards and playing hot potato with 0% intro offers. Yikes. But I committed to paying it all of last year (got there on Dec 23 lol). Now I have one card for recurring bills that gives cash back that goes to my savings, and another for groceries/gas for travel points. Happy to say I pay my balances every month now!!
Really great tips🙌🏾. I was that irresponsible user who never thought of my credit card as debt since I paid continuously and would sometimes just pay down the entire balance owed like twice a year just because I could. It wasnt until i had used it for an emergency that took my balance way down that i really felt the weight of living under that debt. At the beginning of 2020, I began working at correcting the habits that had lead me to where I was and thankfully I have been able to reverse the damage I did by making more responsible decisions and being proactive about financial planning. Just goes to show that it's never too late to change the course of your finances. You just need the will to do it💞
Hi Patricia, so happy with your financial tips. I've only had my credit card for two years now and in the beginning I only used it for when I was on holiday. Because in alot of countries you cannot use Cirrus anymore. So I got my Mastercard to make my vacationing easier. Now I also use the card for purchases of which I want them to be insured in case something goes wrong with the seller. And I never buy things that I actually cannot afford. I have heard the horror stories of mountain high credit card debts and they scare me immensely. So I use my card wisely and only for money I already have to spend.
I've wanted to build my credit history for so long but haven't had a lot guidance when it comes to credit cards so i've just never opened that door, thank you so much for doing this!
Yes girl! I used a secured card for a year as an intermediary between my bank and vendors, so I always paid it off in full every month because I only used it on things I was already going to buy. I built up my previously nonexistent credit score to almost perfect by pretending the really small credit limit was how much I had left in my bank 👀
Wow this was so timely for me! I'm literally (as in within the next half hour) about to pay off my credit card and am adamant about being smarter with it going forward. Great tips & sending gratitude all the way from Canada! 🇨🇦

My credit card actually helped me to save more money in my bank account cause I use it for all my purchases during the month and pay it off with my paycheck. So I’ll have the cash from the previous month saved
I learned so much real life lessons within this 12 mins than ive ever learned at school.... Lord knows i dont need geometry.... but i sure couldve utilize a class on credit cards
Lol I understood the joke and I love this video! Thanks for sharing this. I’m thankful that I learned most of these tips before I got my Amex platinum card. One thing I never knew is that you didn’t have to stay loyal to credit cards. Thanks for that tip.
I use my credit card instead of my debit and then just pay it off in full at the end of the month. I don't spend more than I have or know I will have and then all the money I have spent convert into points/offers.
I realized that not all credit cards are created equal when it comes to interest rates, rewards, and whether or not you get a charge when you travel abroad. Thanks to my husband I am wiser now. We have travel credit cards and that means that there is no international fee. Also, we compare airfare from different sites then use our credit card apps to purchase flights and hotels and can always call them to match the lowest price not forgetting the benefit of earning travel points. We look at what the rewards are and say if this month they hv. A 5% money back on gas only at shell gas station, We compare gas prices and see if the5% is worth it. If it is, then we will get gas at Shell. Just a few ways we use our credit cards. Thanks Patricia for sharing your wisdom.
I couldn’t get everything the credit repair agent asked for, I was only able to pay my boAf card and discover but this was a very amazing service, was all done perfectly 👌

Credit cards being thrown at me when I was 18 was the beginning of my financial peril. 40 now and I’m finally finding ways to fix my credit and I have naan one credit card.
Love Love Love you for this!!! I’m 21 and have 4 lol but I have a 725 credit score so that’s the plus to those cards. I’ve always been one that was scared of debt period. It didn’t matter if it was a cash loan, credit card, mortgage or car loan. Debt itself scared me. But if you want to build your credit within a year and have discipline, credit cards are definitely the way to go. I was kind of impulsive with mine when I first got them, but that stopped quick haha now I have no balances on any card. Another piece of advice having automatic payments raises your score.
I recommend a very good specialist Michael Gibbs [Gibbs@creditpatchup.com] who helped me so much to improve my credit score and removed all negative items that I didn’t want. My score was 510 and after 9 days it was boosted to 790. I was very pleased and desire to share this with the world. I was not sure he would actually do it because I have been scammed twice. He told me all I need to do which I humbly did without hesitating in less than a week I saw the miraculous job, I couldn’t believe it. And I got a mail from credit bureau confirming the good job he did. Contact email [Gibbs@creditpatchup.com] Cheers.
Me and my husband got our first credit card in March. We got one with cash back and put all our bills/groceries/eating out on it. We pay off all our charges every few days so we haven't ever carried a balance and we've already made $141 just for spending on our regular expenses! Maybe that's not a lot to some of you guys but we live in Oklahoma so $100 goes a long way!
I use my credit card to pay for deposits for holidays, car insurance if affordable to pay off and use 0% balance transfer for 2 cards. One has no money and the other card has the debt on it. I am paying over the minimum payments and should pay off the balance in 12 months with a 0% interest rate 🤞🏾🙏🏾. I budget loosely monthly and go over budget so need to sort this out as overdraft charges are higher now. My credit sore is in the green as I only buy what I need not what I want. This is hard tho and I am sure I have lost friends from this. Thanks for tips 👍🏾
A good tip to build credit is to get your first credit card and just use it for fuel each week nothing else. Pay it in full each month or even each week, a couple days after the charge has cleared if you have online banking pay the balance straight away that’s a really good way to start using credit as a young adult to build your score or repair it if you’ve had a bad history. If you only use it for fuel it can’t get out of control. X
I was willing to do anything, I needed a high FICO score. I toiled all my life and was not going to blow it because of a low credit. I needed a house, a car and a loan to boost my business. After I was denied a house the real estate agent introduced me to a credit repair group Credit PatchUp LLC, she told me that he has been helping her clients with credit issues. Without hesitating I contacted him. He repaired my credit within 8-10 business days to as good as new. Things are getting better, I have better chances of achieving my dreams. If you have issues with your FICO, talk to (Mark@CreditPatchup.com) His effort is massive and effective.

I was always afraid of a credit card when I was younger but then I researched and learned how to use it.... I wish I had this video sooner. But thankx
I was so lucky that the executive at the bank explained me the dates and deadlines and to always pay all the credit to avoid interest, he was so nice I was so young and I have never had debt, but I get great credit offers now. So important to know how to use it!!!
I purchase my holidays on a 0% interest CC, and pay it back before the 0% interest period finishes.
What's CC😕

I got a credit card just before I reserved my first house to build up my credit score as I’d never had credit before.
This video was extremely helpful, thank you!! It revealed that many people often think that having credit is equal to free money which it's not!
XOXO
this whole channel really was such a great idea Patricia 🙏🏽👏🏽🙌🏽

Had I learned what you’re teaching years ago! Lol, I’m fixing my credit now so I can’t complain; I learned eventually! I love this channel already ❤️
I don’t know why anyone would dislike this video, it’s very informative! Thank you 🙏🏾
I have been using my credit card to improve my credit rating for 5 years now ,this is a great advise .
Always cover the amount you spent in full by the end of the month ladies please .
Patricia our here educating the masses!!!! I’m here for for this content! 👏🏾👏🏾👏🏾
I've done something similar.
Get a funds transfer into your current account. The handling fee these days is between 2 and 4 % and the balance is usually interest free for at least 18 months ( more on some cards.)
The handling fee is well below the rate of inflation, so as long as you are using the money to buy capital appreciating assets ( eg gold or shares) then you are investing using none of your own money.
Pay the minimum payment ( between .5 and 1% of the sum borrowed) on a direct debit.
When the interest free period runs out, you need a way of paying it back.
Or you can use another card to transfer the balance.
Been loving this channel but I was feeling anxious for Patricia that there weren’t any disclaimers. Glad she says it now 😊
Withdrawing money on credit card is an interesting one particularly when abroad. I found out it was a lot cheaper to withdraw money on my credit card in a country like Comoros than when I did on my debit card. I travel a lot but haven't paid attention to this until I was in Comoros. It might be same for many other locations as well.
I have two credit cards and use them regularly. In order to avoid being in credit card debt, I pay off the balances in full every other week.
I don't have a credit card at 23, but I'm looking towards making more money outside of student finance income / Bank of family. I'm looking into more of a pre-paid card and actually building my credit line to start a business in general. Thank you for this video, it's nice to have the U.K. version of finance.

I’ve heard way too many horror stories about credit cards, so be responsible when you’re spending that cash!!! Like Patricia said - use it wisely! 👏🏾
I was just talking to a client about improving her credit using credit cards. Like literally just hit “send” on that message. 😊
I need improving my saving skills... what did you work, if this is OK to ask?
Brianna Coleman th-cam.com/video/X1MI0QewAsY/w-d-xo.html
Thank god I learned these tips from my dad from an early age 🙏🏽. No credit card debt here.
I love your style! You always pick simple but flattering colors and patterns and I really like it.
I'm finding this channel so informative! I watch all your videos on both channels, but the break has been so valuable! Thankyou ❤️❤️
This video is gold. Pure gold. Everything you do is pure gold, girl. Keep up the good work.
Yes girl! I used a secured card for a year as an intermediary between my bank and vendors, so I always paid it off in full every month because I only used it on things I was already going to buy. I built up my previously nonexistent credit score to almost perfect by pretending the really small credit limit was how much I had left in my bank 👀
I love how you break things down so it's so easy to understand xx

Wow this was so timely for me! I'm literally (as in within the next half hour) about to pay off my credit card and am adamant about being smarter with it going forward. Great tips & sending gratitude all the way from Canada! 🇨🇦
Patricia's out here doing the lords work!!
Would be great if you could cover how to responsibly use Credit Klarna, particularly for younger consumers
I found your channel recently, and I've already learned a lot!! Wish I found your channel in my 20s so I could have sorted out my credit a lot faster. Thanks for all your tips!
Patricia!! I always smile when I watch your videos!! Gurl, you're awesome and I love your sense of humour, even when you're chatting about something serious, like money...
At the end of the day only use credit card when you can afford it. Use credit card only for the benefits like rewards and security
Really love this channel. Every time I think about something I need to know more about you seem to uplaod that very video! Thanks Patricia x
I needed this 5 years, thankfully I have a plan now and am almost debt free now.
Please can you make a video about property investment, how to get into it, what you need etc. LOVE your channel!! ❤️
I am sooo early omg Patricia thank you so much for this channel! God bless you! ❤️
Patricia - I think you used to do modeling...Good to see you Helping ppl get credit
I just recently paid off my credit card debt! Feels so good! 😊😊😊
I wish I could just paying little I guess I don't have the card anymore but lessons to be learn don't want anymore just buy things cash now
How much ?
Some people will probably use it to buy that bag you showed us in the beginning. It’s tempting by the way 😍
My credit card actually helped me to save more money in my bank account cause I use it for all my purchases during the month and pay it off with my paycheck. So I’ll have the cash from the previous month saved
My auntie told me a story of this girl from back in the day living off only credit and paying off one credit card with another - so now I’m here
I learned so much real life lessons within this 12 mins than ive ever learned at school....
Tiffany-Nicole th-cam.com/video/X1MI0QewAsY/w-d-xo.html
This is brilliant! I swear I was just talking about getting my first credit card and now I have this to refer to.

Great video Patricia!! You always spoke about making a finance channel and I’m so happy you did! Thank you 🤗🤗
Thank you for the advice! Yesterday I was thinking about getting a credit card and this video today seeing your video in my recommendations was good guidance on how to start! Love your videos definitely a true role model.
I love my AMEX card! So many amazing perks and I don't worry about fraudulent charges.
"a little trip locally to Spain" lol yup im def way in the US upset that "Spain" isn't a "lil" trip for me LOL. Loving your energy & this video was right on time!
Patricia, this content you are creating on this platform is so incredible. I am watching every video and I even ranged the bell (which i rarely do). You are not only entertaining, but also super knowledgable. I am interested in what do you think one can do with around 13k CAD in savings (I hate spending money xd) and I got a CC with a limit of 1500$ (as a newcomer with no credit score in Canada) and I am do against credit cards but they are so necessary in canada to build credit score and to even rent a car or buy tickets to concerts. I am watching your channel cause I want to know how best to deal with my savings as i don't want to spend them.
Binged all the videos on this channel! I'm obsessed!!! 😛😛💛

*I always always pay off my credit cards in full every months 🙏🏻🙏🏻🙏🏻 I am a real estate agent in South Florida and help people to build their credit scores to buy a house, so I think it is very important for me to have a good credit score and be a role model , don’t spend all your limit and pay in full every month is the most important thing. But I agree 100% with all your tips in this video 👍🏻👍🏻🙏🏻🙏🏻*
We don't have credit score here in the Netherlands, its based on ur monthly salaris how much u get. Also cc aren't widely used
Also if you have a good payment history and record with the company you can ask them to lower the interest rate for you
Shivers at that warning ⚠️
"Where's the black card, ma'am?" *salesperson 👀👀* Well played Patricia! #creditcardawareness #theroadtobecomingamillionaire

Honestly, thankful for your videos and you helping us out here🥺❤️
Thanks Patricia - I’m learning a lot from your vids. Thank you so much!!! You do drop those little nuggets of wisdom like a boss🦸♀️
How I miss the CC offers in the UK the ones in Canada are rubbish! I love using CC’s to my advantage and glad to know that I already do all of these tips given ☺️
They company is also deliver to UK Deeply happy I come across this trustworthy vendor been a second time of getting CC from him *Ericroboti*
On telegram much love I have for you 💯✅
Credit cards being thrown at me when I was 18 was the beginning of my financial peril.
I am so grateful for this channel. Thank you so much!! Also can you do more videos on investing, ETFs etc
This was good for my research. I’m on the verge of making my credit card video for my channel. Good info. Thanks!
As an American a “little trip to Spain” is highly amusing lol
Great vid PB.. dont spend the whole £5000 accent made me laugh 😂
