The meaning of the word Hook or Crook
      BY ANY MEANS NECESSARY
"By hook or by crook" is an English phrase meaning "by any means necessary", suggesting that any means possible should be taken to accomplish a goal. The phrase was first recorded in the Middle English Controversial Tracts of John Wyclif in 1380.

I worked for a "Ugandian Asian" in London 30 years ago who told me every Muslim should have a second passport. From his family's experience in Uganda, that made sense. Living in the UK did not make him feel any more secure. While many American Muslims have bought into the melting pot myth, they are also wondering whether this country accepts them now.

    • @tariquekhan1118
      @tariquekhan1118 6 ชั่วโมงที่ผ่านมา +1

For Muslims in the US, while they support a egalitarian society in the US, it's the promotion of human rights, civil liberties including religious, in Muslim majority countries that can ensure not just the security of Muslims regionally but internationally.

    • @MCJSA
      @MCJSA 6 ชั่วโมงที่ผ่านมา +2

@@tariquekhan1118 I lived in the Gulf for more than two decades and my understanding of this matter is colored by what I read and heard there. They say that common conceptualization of human rights emerges from the specific historical and cultural experience of the west so they reject claims to universal validity and propose an alternate "Islamic" vision of the same. I was not aware of Critical Race Theory at the time, though this may provide some credence to their argument. As for your second pont, Muslims have a very poor record of defending Muslims' rights anywhere. They do well at performative stuff like boycotting Danish butter to defend against a cartoon. Less well at defending the Palestinians from actual anihilation.

    • @tariquekhan1118
      @tariquekhan1118 6 ชั่วโมงที่ผ่านมา

@MCJSA I'm suspicious of attempts to "Islamize" any civil society construct , two plus two still ends up four, and rent collectors ought to be avoided regardless of their claims to a cultural or religious correctness.

    • @MCJSA
      @MCJSA 5 ชั่วโมงที่ผ่านมา +1

@@tariquekhan1118 I agree. Regardless of the Western cultural rootedness of current human rights constructs, no one has closed discussion because so and so is beyond the pale. On Trans rights, say, it is possible to produce well nuanced arguments for and against specific policies. But, once we start saying "Islamic", we exclude anyone without the correct credentials from participation while also aruging for universal application. This fundamentally contradicts the premise of universal human rights from the outset.

They need to protest like the Maori people's did, they had suspended the government and had kicked out
New Zealand's parliament was suspended and two lawmakers were ejected during a vote on a controversial proposed law redefining the country’s founding agreement between Indigenous Māori and the British Crown. The proposed law would redefine the Treaty of Waitangi, which promises broad rights for Māori to tribes retain their lands and protect their interests in return for ceding governance to the British. The bill would specify that those rights should apply to all New Zealanders. From my point of view, Muslims must be outspoken about their rights, just like how Indigenous in Canada can be outspoken.

Warsi is a well-intentioned but gullible and out of her depth. Her political career is a litany of failures where she promotes politicians (e.g. David Cameron) and projects that spectacularly backfire and cause harm. She then attempts to justify these blunders.
I salute her effort; as for her intelligence and/or nous…no comment.
For example, her Muslim, Jew podcast. The very framing lends itself to the underlying trope that Muslims are antisemitic and somehow hate Jews. Muslims and Jews have never had any religious conflict. The conflict is about Jewish mass expulsion of Arabs and the creation of an apartheid state that racially segregates its citizens by law and policy. Zionist Jews (backed by western Christian Zionists) sailed to Palestine from Europe in British ships under the auspices of the colonial British ‘mandate’, booted millions of Arabs off their land, massacred raped, tortured them for 8 decades. It’s not rocket science why the two communities are at loggerheads. Then she wonders why what little ‘space’ she created disappeared when Israel prosecuted its latest genocide against Arabs.
You can have 20 such podcasts and they’ll achieve precisely nothing. The day you end occupation and provide restitution to the displaced, the two communities will return to their historic friendship.

As if eight hundred thousand Jews were never expelled from Arab lands. This is why we have a Jewish homeland. For two thousand years of antisemitism, the only solution was a Jewish state. Like it or not, it's justified.
As for genocide. Hundreds of thousands of Syrian killed and millions displaced by your favorite dictator, Assad. Then you have Yemen, Sudan, Iran and so on. Thank God for Israel.

Your comment highlights the problem. Islamic fundamentalists make up a tiny but often loud minority of the Muslim community in Britain and you can be sure that any incident involving them is immediately overblown in the media with deeply racist, sensationalist language in order to push a deliberately divisive narrative. Many British Muslims came to Britain to escape the fundamentalist, repressive regimes in their countries of origin and simply want to live in peace to get on with their lives like everybody else.

22:37 "Look, in the end there are only two things that make a party change, right? Those people that fund it... and those people who vote for it. And at the last election the Conservative Party suffered the worst defeat... since the late 1800s. It's a wake up call. ...if my party choose not to have that wake up call, we'll just lose again. And then eventually we'll have to find our way to the middle ground."
I'm sorry, this doesn't make sense. Labour didn't gain a single vote this election. (fewer votes and only marginally better vote share than 2019, which was framed as a catastrophic defeat. Fewer votes AND vote share than 2017)
The Tories lost votes, but they primarily lost them to Farage's Reform party, reminding us (as he did with Brexit) that there's a third way to influence a party's platform under FPTP, and that's by outflanking them and threatening to siphon enough voters to cost them seats.
I suppose you could argue that's an outgrowth of voters being able to affect a party's platform, but it doesn't indicate what Warsi is saying it does.
Farage put the Tories in a position where they lost because they *weren't bigoted enough* . As someone worried about Islamophobia in the UK (among other things), I for one hope they *don't* learn the lessons of this election.

I think the thing is, that people are good at criticising things in others, but not themselves. I could talk to you about a country that has had several terrorist attacks, regular car bombings, kidnaps, vigilante mobs etc and religious and ethnic tensions. Indeed, the main political parties are led by people with involvement with terrorist organisations.
Now I bet you´re thinking of Pakistan right? No, I wasn´t talking about Pakistan, I was talking about Northern Ireland. Yet, for some strange reason people don´t talk about people from there being inherently violent or a problem. I wonder why that could be?

That's not it. Islamophobia is a type of discrimination, as is, racism, anti-semitism etc. It depends on the type and scale of discrimination that makes it worse than other types of discrimination. In short, yes. Islamophobia isn't racism, but it is a very dangerous type of discrimination.

Islamaphobia isn't racism as Islam isn't a race. Muslims from all over the world joined ISIS to slaughter in the name of their God it wasn't any particular race that went there.
The term is actually an oxymoron as a phobia is an irrational fear while fearing a cult isn't irrational but common sense.

DYK that Palestine/PHLSTIN/FLSTIN 🇵🇸 & its arabian KING "Abi-Melek" are mentioned in the Bible, in the original text of the Torah, chronologically since Abraham arrived it seeking refuge, long before the birth of Jacob (claimed renamed as Israel)?
    Genesis 26:1 states:
    Isaac went to Abi-Melek,
    👉King of FLSTIN👈
Some claim that the word "פלשתים" is pronounced as "P-L-SH-T-I-M" and refers to the Philistines as "the Peleset," an ancient Greek Sea People who allegedly invaded the region post-1200 BC and later disappeared, thus disconnecting it from modern Arabian Palestinians.
This hypothesis is FALSE and blatantly conflicts with Abraham's timeline (circa 1800 BC), though it remains a matter of scholarly debate.
The translation should reflect the name of the land, not its inhabitants:
    "פ ל ש ת י ם"
    "ف ل س ط ي ن"
The Torahic "פלשתים" and Arabic "فلسطين" are linguistically and graphemically aligned.
Many words in the Torah have Arabic equivalents or roots (according to Strong's Concordance), suggesting a linguistic connection.
Many Torahic words match Arabic pronunciation despite complex morphological structures.
🔴 The Quran mentions that the Torah was originally in the Arabic tongue before being altered (see 3:78, 4:46, and 46:12).
    Q. 46:12:
"And before it was the Book of Moses as a guide and a mercy. And this is a
    👉 confirming Book 👈
👉 in the Arabic tongue 👈."
The first Torahic mention of "FLSTIN" is in Genesis 10 as a PROPER NOUN within the context of Noah's sons and refers to a descendant of Mizraim (Egypt) through Casluhim ✅️, not from Caphtor (Crete) as claimed.
By analyzing the Torahic text where "פלשתים" is mentioned and comparing it with the corresponding Arabic text, it becomes clear that the words and sentence structures align with Arabic linguistics on several levels.
    Example: Genesis 21:34 (consonants only)
    ☝️ "בארץ" (b-e-r-ṣ)
    👈 "פלשתים" (ph-l-š-t-î-m)
    Arabic equivalent:
    ☝️ "بأرض" (b-e-r-ḍ)
    👈 "فلسطين" (f-l-s-ṭ-ī-n)
The correct translation should be: "In the land of FLSTIN" ✔️, meaning inside the territory of FLSTIN, not 'in the land of the Philistines.'
Since vowel points were added later by the Masoretes, "פ" could be "F" and "ש" could be "S."
While the suffix "-im" in Hebrew commonly indicates plurality, in the case of "פלשתים" (Flst:im), it should be considered part of the name, similar to "Mizra-im," and how the Arabic suffix "-in" is used in "Flst:in" (Palestine).
The absence of the definite article "ה" (ha-) further supports the interpretation that "פלשתים" (Flstin) is a proper noun referring to the land itself rather than a term for its inhabitants.
Furthermore, the transliteration and translation of names across languages show that the Koine Greek term that appears in the Septuagint "Φυλιστιεὶμ" (Phylistim) reflects the Hebrew "פלשתים" confirming the read of "f" (ph) & the "s". Another variant, "Φυλιστῖνοι" (Phulistînoi), emerges from forms like "Φυλιστιίμ" (Phulistiím) and "Φυλιστιείμ" (Phulistieím). This underscores the connection to the Arabic pronunciation "FLSTIN", where the suffix "-in" aligns with the Arabic form, as opposed to the Hebrew "-im".
👉Check the transliteration of the Greek verse Genesis 26:1 in the Septuagint. 💯
The comparison of the words "בארץ" and "بأرض" (both meaning 'in the land of') also shows a phonetic similarity with Arabic pronunciation: "b-e-r-ṣ" and "b-e-r-ḍ."
The similarities in the sentence between the Torahic text & the Arabic text are multifaceted, involving orthographic, graphemic, phonetic, phonological, morphological, and semantic dimensions. These similarities highlight both the visual and sound correspondences between the Hebrew and Arabic terms, as well as their deeper linguistic and historical connections.
'F-L-S-T-I-N' in Arabic script represents consonants without vocalic diacritics, subject to accent variations.
In Latin, 'P' and 'PH' correspond to the Arabic 'F,' making 'Palestine' the Latin version of 'FLSTIN,' similar to 'Pilipinas - Philippines - Filipin.'
"Abi-Melek" (meaning "father of a king") reflects Arabic and Semitic regional roots, indicating long-standing cultural integration. This suggests that the Philistines in the Torah were INDIGENOUS and well-established people in the region, not foreign invaders.
ℹ️ The Amarna Letters also support this by mentioning a regional ruler with a related name, "Abi-Milki".
    The gospelly phrases:
    🟨"Tali-tha cumi" and
    🟩"E-phpha-t-h-a",
    resemble the Arabic phrases
🟨“تعالي ذا، قومي” (taʿālī thā, qūmī):
    "Come here, arise," and
    🟩“افتحا" (i-f-t-ḥ-ā):
    "be open".
Both phrases share structural, linguistic, and vocabulary similarities with Arabic, confirming that Jesus spoke Arabic too.
The expressions "Land of Israel" and "Jerusalem" are ❌️NEVER mentioned in the original text of the Torah.
"Israel" is ️NEVER mentioned as a land in the Quran either.
🔳 In the Quran, the term 🔷️"Children of Israel" refers broadly to a group that received prophets and divine guidance, not exclusively to Jews. Moses urged them to rely on God and be 👉Muslims, so to enter the Holy Land (5:20-21, 10:84). Among them, some believed in Jesus & attained faith while others rejected him & denied (61:14). The Quran highlights that Jews and polytheists are the most hostile towards believers, while "Nasara" (Christians) are more amicable (5:82).
💢 PS: Not a single verse in the Quran confirms that Jacob is the same figure as Israel.
The lecture titled "The Rise of Arabic" by Dr. Ahmad Al-Jallad on TH-cam presents epigraphic and archaeological evidence indicating the presence of the Arabic language long before the revelation of the Quran in the region.

Not the enemy within; the enemy period. Islam went to war with all of mankind in 634 CE. It was finally defeated in 1918 however since the massive oil money began coming in after 1973, Islam is back, with the Islamic Republic of Iran, Al Qaida, ISIS, etc, etc. And there are no people more racist than Muslims. As an observant Jew I could not live for scarcely one hour in any Muslim majority country.
