For those that don’t get the joke at 50:48, there was a character named Yukito Kunisaki for the anime AIR (also animated by KyoAni) where near the end he was reincarnated as a crow It seems like a weird joke at first until you find out that this was because Daisuke is played by the real Daisuke Ono who also played Yukito and the crow! They technically could have successfully landed the joke in English by getting Vic Mignogna (aka Edward Elric of FMA fame) who played Yukito in the English dub, but this was changed in favor of using Johnny Young Bosch as Daisuke also played Itsuki Koizumi (who the character above is clearly modeled after) a character in Haruhi Suzumiya who Johnny voiced in the dub. Basically this is a voice acting joke that you can only fully get on the JP side of things. I’m also guessing that Kogami’s Japanese VA also voiced Potato (a dog from the same series) based on Daisuke’s off handed comment, but other than that it’s a cool inside joke, lol.

I loved Minoru but a few things I can't get my head around is, why was the last tiny section in Japanese? Why wasn't there a proper ending? AWhy wasn't there any credits at the end? But one thing is what's the point me looking for all those gosh darn episodes if I could have just watched them on one damn movie!!??
If I remember right, that guy was Minoru's voice actor, also named Minoru Shiraishi. He claimed that the cartoon Minoru was modeled after himself. I heard he ended up having to take a time out from voice acting because the right side of his face was paralyzed.
