Had pains on my right lower abdomen, went for an ultrasound doctor said I have acute appendicitis. Did another ultrasound and doctor said no appendicitis. What does that mean? Please reply. @@Radquarters
@@werrejennifer4896 Ultrasound examination can be a little subjective, it depends on the operator (person performing the scan) as well as the doctor interpreting the scan. These are two different people. If the appendix is dilated without any other abnormalities the exam is technically inconclusive. So well one doctor saw findings and said there is appendicitis, a different doctor may look at the same scan and not be as decisive in their interpretation. In these kinds of cases it will depend on your symptoms and what the surgeons think.

Chronic appendicitis appears similar to acute on ultrasound. The differentiation is typically made based on clinical history.
