- Ja Morant might seem like an obvious draft pick now -- he's projected to go No. 2 overall to the Memphis Grizzlies in the 2019 NBA draft. But the former Murray State point guard spent much of his high school and college years being overlooked. In fact, his basketball talent might have gone entirely undiscovered if not for a tractor tire and a bag of chips. I'm shaking my head because I just can't imagine how his father trained him personally instead of getting him into basketball programs which are expensive. This is just one of those stories will tell you that the hindrance of achieving your goals or making them begins inside of your head. I'm touched by his story because I never followed anyone's nba story from nba other than Kobe and this man.

Yes he is... Murray State University coaches do not bring problems to campus. Our student athletes are either juco transfers, or academically eligible players when they get here. Every single one of them can handle the microphone without embarrassing themself.
2.5 years later, and this man is an NBA All-star starter, and leading the grizzlies to a potential deep playoff run. Absolutely amazing story. Cannot wait to see the career he has. Go Ja and go Grizz!
