This song (and so many other songs by Panic! at the Disco) are just fantastic. They're deep. They're personal. They're meaningful, and they're unique and interesting.
The meaning of the lyrics of "Death of a Bachelor" are particularly interesting because they're about marriage and the casting off of an old way of life so that it can give way to a new lifestyle and adventure. That meant that during Sarah smiles was made it means he was still dating Sarah, then Death of a Bachelor is about Brendon marrying Sarah.
He sings "waiting for the sky to fall" in Sarah smiles, which is a song he wrote for sarah right before they started dating, and he sings "watching the sky fall" in this. That. Is so cute ❤

Pandii This likely isn't the real meaning but it's what it means to me: so when he says 'taking over my body etc.' I think he means taking back in control like blurryface was taking over him but he's coming back. 'I bet a lot of me was lost ts uncrossed and i's undotted' he wasn't himself, we all know that blurryface isn't Tyler. 'Not anymore flesh out the door swat' he's becoming a new person, and like I said, taking control over Blurryface. 'You are surrounding all my surrounding' he means blurryface. 'Twisting the kaleidoscope' he was messing with his mind. 'And I'll be holding onto you' Im not sure about this one, when you deal with depression who often don't want help (or for some people) you want to stay in that state because recovery is scary so he's holding onto blurryface.

I always understood the second verse being him meeting a former lover, giving her the news that he is getting married. He asks her to share "one more" drink with him, and being egotistic asks her ih he was the best she ever had. Then he asks her to smile even though she's sad. His fiancee would have no reason to be sad that he is getting married.

I watched this so I could compare my thoughts to yours, as I genuinely thought of this having a deeper meaning.
I thought “the lace in tour dress, tangles my neck” is actually a metaphor for death also as suggested by the songs title, seeing as it can link to someone being hung and dieing

So I've been understanding this song wrong the whole time. I didn't check his background (I'm not a big fan), and thought that he's still a bachelor, and understood it as literally "Death of a Bachelor". But turn out I was wrong.
But, thinking about some other songs, I'm wondering if the artists write about the other people around them or just no certain one. Bcz it doesn't have to be a story about themselves. And thinking like that, many songs can have different meanings. How do u think about this?
