Love your hair!!! Jane Goodall is NOT problematic. She studied chimpanzees in the wild and has done many good things since. I don't like the doll, though. Moving on... I bought a basic Integrity Toys doll (third hand) many years ago and dressed her in Barbie separates. I still think she's beautiful. This year I splurged and pre-ordered their Trixie Mattel doll. I can't wait!!!
I feel like rainbow high blew up so fast. One day I’d never heard of them and then suddenly there were tons of them. I hadn’t even gotten around to picking a favorite one before I was tired. Unless one releases that just perfectly fits my aesthetic and I love on sight I probably won’t ever get one.
I just discovered RH/SH the other day, I now own 5 (3 boys 2 girls) but only buy the ones who really "speak to me", luckily I'm not a completionist! I did buy a second SH Ash as I adore him and wanted a second to customize. Walked out of both Walmart and Target yesterday empty handed even though they both had tons of RH dolls, none of them struck me. 👍🏻

I'm more excited about getting Rainbow High dolls on clearance 6-9 months after they come out than I am about the dolls themselves. I wish they'd do fashion packs instead of blind boxes for $10.
Wow, I thought it was just me. TBH, RH never gave me any kind of thrill like MH did or even some of Barbies (Odile? The redhead Christmas one) when they came out. The whole doll market is flooded right now and it is too much!
My favorite doll line is RH/SH but they are coming out with way too many dolls. My main issue is the inconsistent pricing of the dolls. The new SH series 2 allegedly only has one outfit and same with series 5 of RH and they will cost around $32. I feel like that's a big rip off considering we have been getting two complete outfits for the same price in previous series. Also the fact that most of us paid original retail price for the rocker dolls at $50 and the new rainbow vision band dolls only costed $40 and I guess the original RH rock band is now retailing for $40. Which means we over paid an additional $10 for them when they are now priced cheaper. I also am a Integrity collector and the past two years have been a big disappointment to me. I hate fighting for the dolls too and the prices went up but the quality hasn't. They just came out with two lingerie dolls at that were retailing for none W club members at $170 and $150 for club members. It was literally a one piece with a robe. Beautiful dolls but way too over priced. I'll probably be skipping out next year. I also will be anti-hauling the Skullector & Haunt Couture dolls from MH because they are way too overpriced for seeming playline quality and I'm not fighting with scalpers for a damn doll. I'll just buy second hand and get the reboot dolls. I just feel like Mattel is way too greedy and it's turning off long time fans of the brand.
I am absolutely with you on Rainbow High! I was a dead set, pedal to the floor completionist right up to Pacific Coast and the Paris Hilton thing left a really super sour taste in my mouth due to her homophobic and racist past. I tried to carry on through Series 4 but once I saw all of the Rainbow Vision dolls, the rip off blind boxes and leaks of future lines - I have just completely thrown my hands up and stopped in the middle of buying Series 4. It’s just too damn much at once. I was a complete 100% Barbie nut until about 2015 when the quality took a nosedive and when RH showed up - I was beyond excited! Not so much anymore. They’re gonna have to go back to basics and slow down before I even turn back around to them. And please - no more homophobia MGA or people with problematic pasts - who do you think are buying these dolls?!?!!!
As much as you might not like Paris Hilton- they didn't even make a doll of her, she was a tiny side character in like two episodes and then the Pacific Coast line got shut down.
I have no desire to have all the dolls. With trading cards or something cheap it's fun to get them all. But these dolls aren't cheap. I'm relieved when there are dolls I have no desire to buy. I only want two from the new shadow high series
I also would love Mattel to bring MyScene back even as a reproduction. They are awesome. I think it's crazy what they charge for their black label dolls. The Rewind ones are pretty cool though. I agree they shouldn't go after content creators for free publicity. I hope they lose the princess license again.

You are not wrong about the Barbie brand items. I am not super wealthy and mainly interested in Barbie brand only, I buy barbie brand dolls that are unique or special to my eyes. The dolls may become valuable , or not but at least they please me and my taste. I do not buy any of the other dolls mentioned. Content creators like yourself give us real reviews quality control vs pricing which is so helpful and needed. Thank you for your content.
Always enjoy a good anti-haul video! I love RH but all these releases are overwhelming and I can’t keep up. Part of the fun for me is the anticipation/wait. I would love clothing with accessory packs instead. Sorry to hear about your friend.
Also, I don't know how you managed to perfectly sum up the way I feel about Rainbow High. I love mine so much, but after all these releases came out at once it was too much at once and I wasn't able to get excited about any in particular. I am buying my favorites only now...which is very freeing honestly lol

honestly I think that Collectors are the ones who are mainly going to spend money on dolls in the future, I’m seeing a trend where kids start to stop playing with their dolls at much earlier than i did at least. Mattel definitely Knows that which leads to the Overpricing of their collector dolls 😕
I wonder if kids would play longer if the playlin3 dolls were better quality. I know the idea is that kids "don't care about quality hair and articulation" but I did. That made a big difference to me as a young child. My kiddo played with their good quality dolls well into middle school. Their friend did too. Those dolls are still precious and coveted. Those dolls had nice hair and articulation. Go figure. Catch on Mattel.
I can’t do the whole “lottery” thing with integrity toys. I can’t justify paying for the membership and then possibly not having the opportunity to get the doll I want. RH I’ve never been a huge fan of. I got Ash and he’s adorable, and I got River and went meh. There’s too much coming out way too fast for me to even get excited about possibly getting one. Mattel’s Disney dolls are… awful to put it politely. If I didn’t see that they were Mattel I would’ve assumed Hasbro was pushing out one last line before the license was completely gone.

YES YES YES. I feel like people are going nuts for dolls, any dolls, and these companies are just seeing how far they can push things. So tired of seeing Mattel repro the most common, easy to find, least desirable dolls and fashions. I loved their Francie and still do but I regret every other modern Mattel purchase i have made this year. And Integrity... I will just say that I have always found their name ironic.
Honestly if the 3rd party retailers weren’t insane in their pricing I would be managing a more curated and nostalgia focused collection like My Scene and stuff.

I don’t hate integrity toys products and here’s why. I’m a huge outfit collector even more than dolls. Barbie has gone to shit so badly in the outfit quality and selection that I was just collecting fashion Avenue and fashion Fever. Which are both amazing lines, but I want more modern fashions in my collection and that’s where Integrity comes in. Also the quality of the Integrity dolls is so good, I was in doll heaven the first time I held one. Like everyone else I hate their distribution strategy, but honestly if I have less dolls will I be sadder? Actually IME no, it makes me appreciate and value the Integrity dolls I have even more compared to my 60 Barbaras. I love and appreciate Integrity’s creativity. Since I’ve been collecting integrity I think I only bought 1-2 Barbie dolls, and they are both vintage collector dolls from the Hard Rock Cafe collection. Mattel just isn’t getting my money anymore.
I like After 5 outfit on the silkstone but I have the original, so I don't need this doll. Well, I don't have the hat, but I don't really need that either.
Yeeeeeees Don Bluth animations have been my primary inspiration for hairstyles for like the last 2 years. I've got like a cross between Prince Cornelius from Thumbelina and Akima from Titan AE and it makes me feel downright euphoric. 💖 It's abnoxious how much work companies will put into HP merch while gutting original designs. I think MGA , if they had wanted to put out budget dolls that were market competitive, should have aimed for something more like what the Hairmazing budget dolls are doing rather than following the budget Barbie template. Oh and heads up the h in Thiago is silent! (It's sometimes also spelled Tiago, but is pronounced the same either way.) Tbh Integrity has always seemed really overhyped to me. I'll admit I still love Rainbow High dolls but I've also never been a completionist and I'm absolutely not cool with the way they've approached the bag and shoe packs. It's rumored upcoming clothing packs are going to be blind box too and I'm *over* it. I think a lot of people are feeling fatigue right now with the line and it's totally understandable. Of all the newer dolls (anything after SH s1) I've only bought one of the Neon Shadow dolls. Barbie continues to be largely underwhelming. And Mattel continues to hurt their own base via corporate bullying and dismissing consumer feedback.
I love RH and winter break. The beauty and detail shine through. We should just buy what we like and not try to get all of them. I have 40 and want Sabrina next.
I do love the After Five doll because we haven't seen that dress in a repro before, but I agree I'd love to see more interesting fashions for these dolls. Midnight Blue is on the top of my wish list. Otherwise most of my doll money is going to other repros and vintage Babs. I agree about RH - I get that MGA is trying to strike while the iron's hot but wow they went way overboard. I bought Ainsley bc I wanted her since the series started but otherwise haven't gotten any since WB.
Yeah more of the iconic vintage fashions/ repros are the way to with the Silkstone material also a BFMC successor with the superstar face sculpt and 70's to 80's fashions.
I love the After Five doll too! When I was around 8 or 9 years old (in the 1970s) I was gifted with a HUGE box of vintage Barbies, Kens, Skippers, clothing and accessories from my grandma’s neighbor. That black dress was in there, and it was one of my absolute favorites. So beautiful and such a classic outfit!
I am also pretty fatigued with rainbow high. I don’t know what happened but series 4 came out and I just….don’t care like I used too. Also, I guess one silver lining to the Mattel Disney dolls is that they will probably have Barbie proportions and so will be able to share clothes and shoes. Will make them a little more fun for the kids, at least. But otherwise yes they are very disappointing
Yeah the Disney Mattel dolls have 3 things going for them 1. Face sculpts are better and can be head swapped 2. Accessibility they will be at almost any store or avenue that sells dolls 3. The pricing will be decent
The "After Five" Barbie was severely underwhelming. When i saw photos on Facebutt, i thought they were old stock photos from the 90s When i realized that it was going to be a "new" release, my initial thought was "That's IT??".

At this point I just want a Barbie Extra here and there. I might want the Superstar Barbie repro to go with my Christie because the 50th anniversary one was not great. I want some of the Rainbow/Shadow vision dolls, but I’ll skip series 4, not excited about them for now. I have Sabrina and she’s awesome. Integrity… complicated. I was a massive fan a couple years ago, Fashion Royalty/NuFace, and I was getting all of the Jem stuff…till I noticed every single shoe/bag/belt falling apart and doll hands getting yellow/zombie like… and how brittle and thin their plastic feels…the joints become so loose and start making crinkling cranking sounds…I had spent a lot in delicate stuff that just began to disintegrate fast, and I just stopped.
The Superstar Repros are pretty cute and the price is....decent. Integrity's biggest failure to me is their antiquated business model with membership only fees and doll retailers that worked in 2002 not 2022.
I still love Integrity and RH 😅. But I only buy a RH doll I LOVE full price. And I only buy a few from each series, once they’re on deep deep sale lol.
I am this close of anti-hauling any Mattel doll, I mostly go to Mattel for the monster high dolls they like to do false scarcity when it comes to the monster high reproduction dolls like I have been trying to get my hands on them without giving into secondhand prices but how can I if it’s not available to the public like that 😔 Love your vids by the way
It seems like they're all in certain places. I was able to get my kiddo the creeproductuon Frankie but our Walmarts are not stocking them, at least not last I checked. I'm in Austin, TX.... I guess Texas is too bible belt for MH? But Austin sure as hell isn't, bible belt I mean.
This year I joined the Integrity W Club for the first time. They seem to be making it easier to get dolls. For example, they are increasing production numbers and have changed how the convention will work. The downside is, I think their quality control is slipping. I only have a few dolls, but they have some issues. To get them in Canada, the shipping alone is $50. The $175 dolls end up cost me around $300 Canadian, and that just isn't worth it to me. I had to admit I am not in that economic category. So, I might get one more doll if something great comes up, but I highly doubt I will join next year.
I wasn't buying whole series of RH from the start, only the ones I really liked and even with that I kind of started to wait until these would be heavily discounted or on clearance before I buy these, same with LOL. I bought almost all SH series 1 and RH series 4 and Ainsley but again, I bought them during a big sale event. And I stopped buying Mattel at all, my subscription lapsed this month and not going to renew even if it is just 10$
Oh my. So I agree they're doing too much with rainbow high right now and the prices on a lot of it are way too high. I'm not buying everything that comes out. I usually wait for a sale. My ideal price point is $17 but I am not super consistent about that. Completionist collecting is always exhausting for me, I always end up dumping lines out of frustration.
I just ordered 2 RH dolls, but they were on sale, I was happy to FINALLY see Delilah Fields, a doll with glasses, plus the Shadow High Heather Grayson, with her two coloured hair look, but I won't be getting more soon. I love the idea of monochrome dolls but I lot of the looks in Shadow High were too mono-tone and flat. Most of the RH looks aren't to my taste, I don't do trendy streetwear, I'm into mori and goth and punk. So for me it's one or two a year and when there's a sale.

The Shadow High line reminds me a bit of Monster High. I love a goth doll. But I don't think they'll push the envelope much more with Rainbow High.

I hate how people complain about stuff (like the price for the shoes or bags for RH) yet buy them in bulk? I know people can do with their money what they want, but you can't go and say the price is too high and then support it anyway 😅😅 Anyway, I'm done with RH releasing soooo much as well. They're not even €20 dolls, it's €70 or something and there's 6 of those right after series 4 released (and those stupid accessory packs) like... You are funny, clever and thoughtful in your reviews. I always learn a lot. Thank you. I’ve never been a huge fan of Integrity. I think their clothing is relatively well done (I mostly collect male dolls), but I feel their bodies lack the range of articulation I get from cheaper brands. And I just can’t deal with the “resting bitch face” expressions. I did fall head over heels for Thiago, but like you, I couldn’t see getting a membership for only a couple of dolls. Of course Thiago was released right after the deadline passed, so I ended up paying double for him on the secondary market. C’est la vie.

Not buying any RH unless something really wows me. Not touching mermaze (60$ in canada). Most omg dolls I'm anti hauling too. I have to be super picky because doll prices are insane now and the amount of releases is just too much.
Same prices in Australia. Our price is 60 AUD for that mermaid crap and some people said that Mermaid High has been cancelled...which were like halve the price here. I'm so sad. I have above average salary and with these prices I would be broke even if I would buy selected few, at the same time US students with part-time jobs can afford not only the whole line but also like to have doubles or do customs. Prices are just insane for MGA dolls outside US.
@@collectablechaoseng true true. I see a lot of collectors with double and triples XD Seems also some places in the states have really good finds in thrift stores. Where I live, you will not see a RH nor any OMG in the thrift stores. People prefer to try to sell their dolls online for big bucks.
I'm definitely not excited about what RH is doing right. But I've never been a huge fan. I do like the After 5 Silkstone Barbie. It's rare to get red heads and they are my favorite to collect. Her dress is actually made very well too. I would have preferred her to be $50 like the other dolls in this line though. I seen reviews for the vanity and people seem to like it. I really hope you like it too.
I really wanted to buy a RH and SH but like all the other comments, they are just releasing them too much in so little time and it is hard to choose a favorite or which one to buy considering they are expensive... The makeup artist was a missed opportunity for a fun two-doll playset. The other doll could have been in a permanent sitting position in a chair, with an articulated, color changing/surprise head or something. .. but insted they made ANOTHER singular career doll in printed, paper clothing. 🙃

Did you see the Rainbow High Dia de Los Muertos doll leaked and she’s wearing a SPANISH dress with a sombrero hat!?! With a rose head crown that isn’t even the right flower (should be marigolds). They did like 0 research on Mexican culture and just like slapped her together!! I was so mad, so fucking problematic and insulting.
With rainbow high, I love them but will only get the ones I will be genuinely be sad to see off the shelves. I have to be absolutely revved up to even look for the doll and be excited about catching the first look at the doll in my target before I even think about buying one. If the above does not happen I will not be touching the doll. The expectation that you need to complete lines and sets is incredibly undoable because on average they are 30-50 and that is too much for a gotta have m all attude. They aren't barbies, they don't go on sale for 5 bucks if they have a damaged box, they are a lucky, lucky thing you manage to spend money on when you can squeeze it out of your paycheck.

Dream Ella...Barbie fashionistas I think are better value. BUT as a barbie horse enthusiast since childhood, Barbie has not brought nice looking fantasy horses for years and the Dream Ella unicorns are affordable and gorgeous and I love mine. They perfectly match my Fairytopia Sparkle Fairies. And the Dream Ella birthday dolls are really cute and fun and cheap. Like you said, if they bring mermaids I will buy them, I could see them being really colourful and fun
I have been feeling RH burnout myself. I have started only buying ones I really want or waiting for them to go on sale. Series 4 had so many paint issues that I am waiting for them to go on sale just for the clothes TBH. As far as Mattel, The only dolls I have bought are made to move dolls for head swaps....oh and the monster high dolls creepproductions......BTW what the hell happened to those? Still not in stores..Are we going to get other MH characters or what?..I am still not feeling the new MH dolls....they feel more like middle school to me.

One of my anti hauls would be Mermaze. I can't stand them. I had reluctantly bought one for my daughter because she wanted one & the paint on the exposed part of the tail started to chip off in the car on the way from the store so I took it right back.

Yeah I had the gain on the microphone too high up. I had got the mic like 5 minutes before I started filming. I’ve reduced the gain and it should be a lot better two videos from now.

rainbow high is exhausting. there are some gorgeous dolls but their refusal to make fashion packs is super irritating - if they need that $30 entry point for chrissake sell bundles of three outfits! integrity makes beautiful dolls but their lack of accessibility AND lack of diverse fashion perspective gives me so much pause..their characters are all rail thin and all look like influencers without taste or style. anyways..thinking of you. loss is rough. 💕
There are fashion packs projected for the 2023 spring release roster, but their rumored to also be blind boxes like the shoes and bags are. A lot could change in the time frame, but I'm not getting my hopes up.
I totally agree on Rainbow High. A few of the costume dolls coming out are cute and i'm interested, but otherwise they are getting too expensive and too many real quick all at once. Hell, I stopped following some people because I just don't want to hear about new releases from RH anymore. Also I love that Toothfairy Barbie but $55????? Ain't no way LMAO.
As an trans collector, thank you for calling out Mattel continuing to make dolls for Harry Potter. I've seen so many other adult collectors, LGBT+ people included, stay silent on the issue and it frustrates and saddens me deeply. I also 1000% agree about the Rainbow High dolls feeling stale with the same style for so many of the dolls and lack of variety, and feelings towards Mattel. We know they can be doing so much better and it's incredibly frustrating to watch them continue to flounder.
Agreed about the Jane Goodall doll. They should really look into women who made change that aren’t always talked about. One of my tops is Temple Grandin. She is a leading woman in agriculture who changed things up a lot! I highly recommend you take a look at the work she’s done.
I walk into Toys 'R' Us and look around they mark up all their dolls and doll fashions $5 higher than Walmart. I look at the quality of the fashions and I just can't justify paying $17.99 for a two fashion pack or $16.99 for a Jacket and accessories. They used to have High End fashions (Fashion Avenue $5-$15) and low end fashions ($2-$5) now we get cheap shit fashions that I don't see anyone wearing in real life. I want Barbie leggings, jeans, Jackets, T-shirts (plain no print) lingerie , underwear, bras. Regular everyday fashions, and Party Fashions, stuff you see in fashion magazines!
I so agree about Rainbow High I do still love them but it’s so hard to keep up. Definitely overwhelming. I love Barbie hardcore fan but just wish she would try to compete with rainbow high ugh 😩
Kinda 4 months late to the party I know... The tooth fairy barbie? Cute but here in Germany she was over 100 euro ( 100 euro = 106 dollar). That's what I hate about Mattel, whatever it's in the US it's twice as much in Europe. Their excuse? No factories in Europe (at least that's what I heard). Rainbow high? I didn't even buy half the dolls. The majority is over 50 euro over here and they came in masses. Those doll youtube channels hype the sh/t out of them and bought all, sometimes even twice which created this weird fomo. Guys, you don't need to get them all immediately don't worry. Shadow high edition 2 showed up on Amazon and everyone ran buying it despite it being only Amazon US. Europeans couldn't even wait for them to show up here before paying the full price and expensive shipping. It's crazy Edit: and don't even let me get to monster high? Oh wait, I can't cause here in Germany there is nothing out. I don't know if they wait for everything to be dubbed or just entirely gave a pass on this franchise. Mattel hates Europeans (from what I saw they also get screwed over everytime MH collector dolls come out but I gave up on even trying)

I never liked Rainbow High. I cannot stand big heads !! As far as Mattel ... I hear ya. They lost me when they downgraded, then dumped the Barbie Fashion Model Collection. In favor of the Extra, and Color Reveal crap. Mattel ought to be ashamed of themselves. The two reproductions I got, Francie and the Malibu Giftset is disappointing, at best. I did get a couple of the Looks dolls, although not a fan of the made-to-move joints aesthetic. Other than these, the only thing I get from Mattel is the odd, occasional Fashionista doll. I leave them as is, I don't mind the straight arms and legs.

I’m not sure if this is true or not, but I have a feeling that the popularity of molded on tops has something to do with conservative parents not wanting their children exposed to doll nudity. I think it’s absurd, but my sister-in-law is really concerned about it. Like my niece can’t be gifted or play with certain doll brands. I’ve even notice MyFroggyStuff censors L.O.L Surprise dolls in her videos. As a kid or adult I just think it’s a weird concept and wondered if you had heard about that parent complaint.
I’m still a fan of RH, but they release the dolls way too fast. Like I haven’t even finished Pacific Cost, SH series 1, and RH series 4 and they already have 7 other series out. I don’t even think the line is 3 yrs old and there are over 50 dolls in the brand. It’s too much. I even the TH-cam series is having a really hard time keeping up with the releases.
Love your hair!!! Jane Goodall is NOT problematic. She studied chimpanzees in the wild and has done many good things since. I don't like the doll, though. Moving on... I bought a basic Integrity Toys doll (third hand) many years ago and dressed her in Barbie separates. I still think she's beautiful. This year I splurged and pre-ordered their Trixie Mattel doll. I can't wait!!!

I feel like rainbow high blew up so fast. One day I’d never heard of them and then suddenly there were tons of them. I hadn’t even gotten around to picking a favorite one before I was tired. Unless one releases that just perfectly fits my aesthetic and I love on sight I probably won’t ever get one.

I just discovered RH/SH the other day, I now own 5 (3 boys 2 girls) but only buy the ones who really "speak to me", luckily I'm not a completionist! I did buy a second SH Ash as I adore him and wanted a second to customize. Walked out of both Walmart and Target yesterday empty handed even though they both had tons of RH dolls, none of them struck me. 👍🏻

Wow, I thought it was just me. TBH, RH never gave me any kind of thrill like MH did or even some of Barbies (Odile? The redhead Christmas one) when they came out. The whole doll market is flooded right now and it is too much!
My favorite doll line is RH/SH but they are coming out with way too many dolls. My main issue is the inconsistent pricing of the dolls. The new SH series 2 allegedly only has one outfit and same with series 5 of RH and they will cost around $32. I feel like that's a big rip off considering we have been getting two complete outfits for the same price in previous series. Also the fact that most of us paid original retail price for the rocker dolls at $50 and the new rainbow vision band dolls only costed $40 and I guess the original RH rock band is now retailing for $40. Which means we over paid an additional $10 for them when they are now priced cheaper. I also am a Integrity collector and the past two years have been a big disappointment to me. I hate fighting for the dolls too and the prices went up but the quality hasn't. They just came out with two lingerie dolls at that were retailing for none W club members at $170 and $150 for club members. It was literally a one piece with a robe. Beautiful dolls but way too over priced. I'll probably be skipping out next year. I also will be anti-hauling the Skullector & Haunt Couture dolls from MH because they are way too overpriced for seeming playline quality and I'm not fighting with scalpers for a damn doll. I'll just buy second hand and get the reboot dolls. I just feel like Mattel is way too greedy and it's turning off long time fans of the brand.

I am absolutely with you on Rainbow High! I was a dead set, pedal to the floor completionist right up to Pacific Coast and the Paris Hilton thing left a really super sour taste in my mouth due to her homophobic and racist past. I tried to carry on through Series 4 but once I saw all of the Rainbow Vision dolls, the rip off blind boxes and leaks of future lines - I have just completely thrown my hands up and stopped in the middle of buying Series 4. It’s just too damn much at once. I was a complete 100% Barbie nut until about 2015 when the quality took a nosedive and when RH showed up - I was beyond excited! Not so much anymore. They’re gonna have to go back to basics and slow down before I even turn back around to them. And please - no more homophobia MGA or people with problematic pasts - who do you think are buying these dolls?!?!!!

I have no desire to have all the dolls. With trading cards or something cheap it's fun to get them all. But these dolls aren't cheap. I'm relieved when there are dolls I have no desire to buy. I only want two from the new shadow high series
I also would love Mattel to bring MyScene back even as a reproduction. They are awesome. I think it's crazy what they charge for their black label dolls. The Rewind ones are pretty cool though. I agree they shouldn't go after content creators for free publicity. I hope they lose the princess license again.

You are not wrong about the Barbie brand items. I am not super wealthy and mainly interested in Barbie brand only, I buy barbie brand dolls that are unique or special to my eyes. The dolls may become valuable , or not but at least they please me and my taste. I do not buy any of the other dolls mentioned. Content creators like yourself give us real reviews quality control vs pricing which is so helpful and needed. Thank you for your content.

Not a teaser or anything. And apparently they’re due to be officially out in the next few weeks. What are they doing??? How are they marketing this badly? Especially when the new MH dolls look so good at that price(and somehow better and more high quality than Barbies at the same price)?

honestly I think that Collectors are the ones who are mainly going to spend money on dolls in the future, I’m seeing a trend where kids start to stop playing with their dolls at much earlier than i did at least. Mattel definitely Knows that which leads to the Overpricing of their collector dolls 😕
I wonder if kids would play longer if the playlin3 dolls were better quality. I know the idea is that kids "don't care about quality hair and articulation" but I did. That made a big difference to me as a young child. My kiddo played with their good quality dolls well into middle school. Their friend did too. Those dolls are still precious and coveted. Those dolls had nice hair and articulation. Go figure.

RH I’ve never been a huge fan of. I got Ash and he’s adorable, and I got River and went meh. There’s too much coming out way too fast for me to even get excited about possibly getting one.

I don’t hate integrity toys products and here’s why. I’m a huge outfit collector even more than dolls. Barbie has gone to shit so badly in the outfit quality and selection that I was just collecting fashion Avenue and fashion Fever. Which are both amazing lines, but I want more modern fashions in my collection and that’s where Integrity comes in.
Also the quality of the Integrity dolls is so good, I was in doll heaven the first time I held one. Like everyone else I hate their distribution strategy, but honestly if I have less dolls will I be sadder? Actually IME no, it makes me appreciate and value the Integrity dolls I have even more compared to my 60 Barbaras. I love and appreciate Integrity’s creativity. Since I’ve been collecting integrity I think I only bought 1-2 Barbie dolls, and they are both vintage collector dolls from the Hard Rock Cafe collection. Mattel just isn’t getting my money anymore.

I think MGA , if they had wanted to put out budget dolls that were market competitive, should have aimed for something more like what the Hairmazing budget dolls are doing rather than following the budget Barbie template.

I'll admit I still love Rainbow High dolls but I've also never been a completionist and I'm absolutely not cool with the way they've approached the bag and shoe packs. It's rumored upcoming clothing packs are going to be blind box too and I'm *over* it. I think a lot of people are feeling fatigue right now with the line and it's totally understandable. Of all the newer dolls (anything after SH s1) I've only bought one of the Neon Shadow dolls.
Barbie continues to be largely underwhelming. And Mattel continues to hurt their own base via corporate bullying and dismissing consumer feedback.

I agree about RH - I get that MGA is trying to strike while the iron's hot but wow they went way overboard. I bought Ainsley bc I wanted her since the series started but otherwise haven't gotten any since WB.
Yeah more of the iconic vintage fashions/ repros are the way to with the Silkstone material also a BFMC successor with the superstar face sculpt and 70's to 80's fashions.
I love the After Five doll too! When I was around 8 or 9 years old (in the 1970s) I was gifted with a HUGE box of vintage Barbies, Kens, Skippers, clothing and accessories from my grandma’s neighbor. That black dress was in there, and it was one of my absolute favorites. So beautiful and such a classic outfit!
I am also pretty fatigued with rainbow high. I don’t know what happened but series 4 came out and I just….don’t care like I used too.
Also, I guess one silver lining to the Mattel Disney dolls is that they will probably have Barbie proportions and so will be able to share clothes and shoes. Will make them a little more fun for the kids, at least. But otherwise yes they are very disappointing
Yeah the Disney Mattel dolls have 3 things going for them
1. Face sculpts are better and can be head swapped
2. Accessibility they will be at almost any store or avenue that sells dolls
3. The pricing will be decent

Integrity… complicated. I was a massive fan a couple years ago, Fashion Royalty/NuFace, and I was getting all of the Jem stuff…till I noticed every single shoe/bag/belt falling apart and doll hands getting yellow/zombie like… and how brittle and thin their plastic feels…the joints become so loose and start making crinkling cranking sounds…I had spent a lot in delicate stuff that just began to disintegrate fast, and I just stopped.
The Superstar Repros are pretty cute and the price is....decent. Integrity's biggest failure to me is their antiquated business model with membership only fees and doll retailers that worked in 2002 not 2022.

This year I joined the Integrity W Club for the first time. They seem to be making it easier to get dolls. For example, they are increasing production numbers and have changed how the convention will work. The downside is, I think their quality control is slipping. I only have a few dolls, but they have some issues. To get them in Canada, the shipping alone is $50. The $175 dolls end up cost me around $300 Canadian, and that just isn't worth it to me. I had to admit I am not in that economic category. So, I might get one more doll if something great comes up, but I highly doubt I will join next year.

I wasn't buying whole series of RH from the start, only the ones I really liked and even with that I kind of started to wait until these would be heavily discounted or on clearance before I buy these, same with LOL. I bought almost all SH series 1 and RH series 4 and Ainsley but again, I bought them during a big sale event. And I stopped buying Mattel at all, my subscription lapsed this month and not going to renew even if it is just 10$
Yeah I’m glad I’m in a smaller area with less collector competition so I can wait for stuff to go on sale
Oh my. So I agree they're doing too much with rainbow high right now and the prices on a lot of it are way too high. I'm not buying everything that comes out. I usually wait for a sale. My ideal price point is $17 but I am not super consistent about that. Completionist collecting is always exhausting for me, I always end up dumping lines out of frustration.
Like they are still special dolls and everything but it’s a lot.
I just ordered 2 RH dolls, but they were on sale, I was happy to FINALLY see Delilah Fields, a doll with glasses, plus the Shadow High Heather Grayson, with her two coloured hair look, but I won't be getting more soon. I love the idea of monochrome dolls but I lot of the looks in Shadow High were too mono-tone and flat. Most of the RH looks aren't to my taste, I don't do trendy streetwear, I'm into mori and goth and punk. So for me it's one or two a year and when there's a sale.
The SH dolls gave up on the monochrome quickly too the band members sure aren’t.

The Shadow High line reminds me a bit of Monster High. I love a goth doll. But I don't think they'll push the envelope much more with Rainbow High.

I’ve never been a huge fan of Integrity. I think their clothing is relatively well done (I mostly collect male dolls), but I feel their bodies lack the range of articulation I get from cheaper brands. And I just can’t deal with the “resting bitch face” expressions.
I did fall head over heels for Thiago, but like you, I couldn’t see getting a membership for only a couple of dolls. Of course Thiago was released right after the deadline passed, so I ended up paying double for him on the secondary market. C’est la vie.
He was so pretty I’m sad but I’ll surivive.

Same prices in Australia. Our price is 60 AUD for that mermaid crap and some people said that Mermaid High has been cancelled...which were like halve the price here. I'm so sad. I have above average salary and with these prices I would be broke even if I would buy selected few, at the same time US students with part-time jobs can afford not only the whole line but also like to have doubles or do customs. Prices are just insane for MGA dolls outside US.

Honestly my favourite Mattel line were when they made the winx dolls they were absolutely stunning

I do like the After 5 Silkstone Barbie. It's rare to get red heads and they are my favorite to collect. Her dress is actually made very well too. I would have preferred her to be $50 like the other dolls in this line though.

The makeup artist was a missed opportunity for a fun two-doll playset. The other doll could have been in a permanent sitting position in a chair, with an articulated, color changing/surprise head or something. .. but insted they made ANOTHER singular career doll in printed, paper clothing.

Did you see the Rainbow High Dia de Los Muertos doll leaked and she’s wearing a SPANISH dress with a sombrero hat!?! With a rose head crown that isn’t even the right flower (should be marigolds). They did like 0 research on Mexican culture and just like slapped her together!! I was so mad, so fucking problematic and insulting.
Yeah I think I saw her and I’ve heard those criticisms and rightfully so. I don’t know enough about Mexican culture so I’m glad others educated me.
Rainbow High's track record with portraying foreign cultures is very very bad. Only Meena, Lily, and the Kpop dolls are good.
With rainbow high, I love them but will only get the ones I will be genuinely be sad to see off the shelves. I have to be absolutely revved up to even look for the doll and be excited about catching the first look at the doll in my target before I even think about buying one. If the above does not happen I will not be touching the doll. The expectation that you need to complete lines and sets is incredibly undoable because on average they are 30-50 and that is too much for a gotta have m all attude. They aren't barbies, they don't go on sale for 5 bucks if they have a damaged box, they are a lucky, lucky thing you manage to spend money on when you can squeeze it out of your paycheck.
Also the pricing is so inconsistent and we get different qualities at the price range so idk anymore.

Dream Ella...Barbie fashionistas I think are better value. BUT as a barbie horse enthusiast since childhood, Barbie has not brought nice looking fantasy horses for years and the Dream Ella unicorns are affordable and gorgeous and I love mine. They perfectly match my Fairytopia Sparkle Fairies. And the Dream Ella birthday dolls are really cute and fun and cheap.

I have been feeling RH burnout myself. I have started only buying ones I really want or waiting for them to go on sale. Series 4 had so many paint issues that I am waiting for them to go on sale just for the clothes TBH. As far as Mattel, The only dolls I have bought are made to move dolls for head swaps....oh and the monster high dolls creepproductions......BTW what the hell happened to those? Still not in stores..Are we going to get other MH characters or what?..I am still not feeling the new MH dolls....they feel more like middle school to me.

Yeah everyone in my life has been super helpful and shared their stories of loss with me and that helps.

rainbow high is exhausting. there are some gorgeous dolls but their refusal to make fashion packs is super irritating - if they need that $30 entry point for chrissake sell bundles of three outfits! integrity makes beautiful dolls but their lack of accessibility AND lack of diverse fashion perspective gives me so much pause..their characters are all rail thin and all look like influencers without taste or style. anyways..thinking of you. loss is rough. 💕

I totally agree on Rainbow High. A few of the costume dolls coming out are cute and i'm interested, but otherwise they are getting too expensive and too many real quick all at once. Hell, I stopped following some people because I just don't want to hear about new releases from RH anymore.

As an trans collector, thank you for calling out Mattel continuing to make dolls for Harry Potter. I've seen so many other adult collectors, LGBT+ people included, stay silent on the issue and it frustrates and saddens me deeply.
I also 1000% agree about the Rainbow High dolls feeling stale with the same style for so many of the dolls and lack of variety, and feelings towards Mattel. We know they can be doing so much better and it's incredibly frustrating to watch them continue to flounder.
Not to mention that mess if a holiday doll.
Agreed about the Jane Goodall doll. They should really look into women who made change that aren’t always talked about. One of my tops is Temple Grandin. She is a leading woman in agriculture who changed things up a lot! I highly recommend you take a look at the work she’s done.

I walk into Toys 'R' Us and look around they mark up all their dolls and doll fashions $5 higher than Walmart. I look at the quality of the fashions and I just can't justify paying $17.99 for a two fashion pack or $16.99 for a Jacket and accessories. They used to have High End fashions (Fashion Avenue $5-$15) and low end fashions ($2-$5) now we get cheap shit fashions that I don't see anyone wearing in real life. I want Barbie leggings, jeans, Jackets, T-shirts (plain no print) lingerie , underwear, bras. Regular everyday fashions, and Party Fashions, stuff you see in fashion magazines!
I would LOVE it if all of us doll collectors stood together and boycotted Mattel. I am SO unbelievably sick of their BS.

The tooth fairy barbie? Cute but here in Germany she was over 100 euro ( 100 euro = 106 dollar). That's what I hate about Mattel, whatever it's in the US it's twice as much in Europe. Their excuse? No factories in Europe (at least that's what I heard).
Rainbow high? I didn't even buy half the dolls. The majority is over 50 euro over here and they came in masses. Those doll youtube channels hype the sh/t out of them and bought all, sometimes even twice which created this weird fomo. Guys, you don't need to get them all immediately don't worry.
Shadow high edition 2 showed up on Amazon and everyone ran buying it despite it being only Amazon US. Europeans couldn't even wait for them to show up here before paying the full price and expensive shipping. It's crazy

I never liked Rainbow High. I cannot stand big heads !! As far as Mattel ... I hear ya. They lost me when they downgraded, then dumped the Barbie Fashion Model Collection. In favor of the Extra, and Color Reveal crap. Mattel ought to be ashamed of themselves. The two reproductions I got, Francie and the Malibu Giftset is disappointing, at best. I did get a couple of the Looks dolls, although not a fan of the made-to-move joints aesthetic. Other than these, the only thing I get from Mattel is the odd, occasional Fashionista doll. I leave them as is, I don't mind the straight arms and legs.

I’m not sure if this is true or not, but I have a feeling that the popularity of molded on tops has something to do with conservative parents not wanting their children exposed to doll nudity. I think it’s absurd, but my sister-in-law is really concerned about it. Like my niece can’t be gifted or play with certain doll brands. I’ve even notice MyFroggyStuff censors L.O.L Surprise dolls in her videos. As a kid or adult I just think it’s a weird concept and wondered if you had heard about that parent complaint.

I’m still a fan of RH, but they release the dolls way too fast. Like I haven’t even finished Pacific Cost, SH series 1, and RH series 4 and they already have 7 other series out. I don’t even think the line is 3 yrs old and there are over 50 dolls in the brand. It’s too much. I even the TH-cam series is having a really hard time keeping up with the releases.
