The original Bebop softhead was just about as pink as this one, I believe. It was the later plastic/hard headed Bebop that had the pink spray and color way toned down.
I'd have to have it in front of me to say for sure, but I remember my childhood Bebop figure (which was a softhead) as being VERY pink. (to the point where I saw this and it took me right back.
@@maxmiller5619 I'd say so. Weirdly enough, never had Dirtbag as a kid. He wasn't as easy to find. Groundchuck though, was one of my favourites. His sculpt also had a lot of detail, like Bebop. That should look really impressive on a modern figure.

I never liked the pink face on the original figure but having this Super 7 version, I actually like it. Keeping it on him but my turtles are rocking the alternate heads. Love this Bebop, I think he's the star out of this wave. Side note, I see today BBTS announced the preorders for the first wave's "Alternate versions". They look the same pretty much, just a lil darker in paint.
I love this guy! Probably the best looking of wave 2 in my opinion as well! I think the pink face would look even better to me if they would have kept his mowhawk closer to the violet tone the vintage figure has instead of the magenta one they gave him. That way it wouldn't be so much pink tone together in one small area. Either way I still like the pink spray one a bit better than the other one because it gives his face a little bit more dimension and looks like plasticy than the brown.
I wish the NECA figures felt as good as the Super 7 ones. It's like both companies use completely different types of plastic where NECA feels a little cheaper but Super 7 feels like an old toy with solid plastic. Not sure if anyone else has noticed this. That aside, I cannot wait to see what Super 7 waves will be after 5 (yeah I am late here), but oh man they are beginning to hit some cool mutants and I am here for it.
I just wanna say that your reviews made me pull the trigger on these figures. Especially since i got a lot of them for $40 on Amazon. can't go wrong. Keep up the reviews!!
Bebop is my favorite TMNT figure period. In all iterations. - I think this because he was strangely the one single character I DID NOT own as a child, so he has always had sort of a holy grail aura about him for me. I don't even know why I didn't have him... its not like he was rare...
His sneakers are supposed to have white shell toes & bottoms. Idk why they’d skip that. Rocksteady’s weapons aren’t painted either. Just gray plastic. No extra head like Bebop. Rigid plastic for the hands that don’t fit the weapons well. The rest of those two look fantastic but could’ve been perfection.
I know it' very late, but I got my figure recently and was able to put the shield in Bebop's left hand after warming it for a while in case anyone is still wondering. The only downside is that shield gets warped a little due to the tightness of the grip.
My only very tiny gripe is that I wish the chains on him (belt, shoulders) were like the ones on the Neca cartoon version and that the brown head had a purple mohawk instead.
That has such great detail on the sculpt! I love the articulation! If only they had these when I was a kid! Im not complaining with what we got with the original Playmates though! haha! Great stuff!

Looking at my original Bebop, it's not so much pink as it is a more flesh tone. Or at least that's the way my figure looks. It could have varied from figure to figure back in the day.

this has to be the best ult figure they have done thus far. I know his tul face matches my OG figure's face... but in higher detail and color he looks more like a pitbull than a hog. I dont like the new facial expression either. So I'm torn between both heads. lol
The 2023 Playmates Target re-release of the original Bebop amd Rocksteady have some of the laziest, sloppiest, paint jobs I have ever seen. Shameful. Embarrassing.
In my opinion non of these new toys have any value long term. Even for new collectors if you go this route with new stuff you simply just regret not chasing the older toy lines that retain value and or go up in value plus the items actually have meaning, history and pride of ownership.
It is a throwaway culture now. Nothing produced today has long term value. Unless it was something produced in low quantities, which has rarity on its side.
@@sdc3536 There is nothing more fun/and funny than taking something so silly so serious. For instance that's why wrestling is hilarious and people that don't get that and just say "its fake", miss out. However, everything stated is 100% true about new vs old when it comes to Value $ with toys.

Mine arrived yesterday, and man this is a big beefy figure! Or should I say Porky? Bad joke aside, it's an awesome figure.
I cant believe how much I love the pink head! I wish they had a different accessory with this instead of the brown head. Over all I love it!

These are the paint apps I was hoping for on Mutagen Man. Still a shame they didn't give him as much love as Bebop.
My Bebop's legs are pretty loose, makes me worried about him knocking a bunch of stuff over if I'm not careful.
Sometimes the ab crunch messes up the sculpt if they are bare chested. I Know like a batman figure, with his outfit, sometimes it works

The drill gun is really a terrifying weapon if you think about what it would actually do and how it would have to be used in order to do it.

I remember that excitement these sparked. But with the quality decline, them hitting discount , price hikes & over production… they lost their charm!
I'd say out of Super 7's series 1 and 2, Bebop is the winner for best figure thus far IMO.
