My daughter is actually doing a play about treasure Island and she actually started to get really better at sounding like a pirate 🏴☠️
I'm reading treasure island for school and I'm trying to get in character 😊
Trying to hear her speaking but all I can hear is the music
K

Tell me you have ADHD without telling me you have ADHD:
you gotta embrace your pirateness dudes
« invest in their arse? »
Literally what i thought she said
Become an exasperated Irishman
😂😂😂😂
I recently learned this- the classic pirate accent is directly traceable to Robert Newton’s performance as Long John Silver in the 1951 Disney version of Treasure Island. If his estate could only collect royalties!
Great coach but what's with the music?? Really distracting.
fr like dang
I'm easily distracted but I was too focused on her voice to really notice the music lol
My pirate voice sounds like I smoke a pack a day.
Just be from Somerset England.
Yeh surprised at the Cornish Pirate choice, the traditional Pirate sound you hear today is much closer to the West Country dialect found in Somerset & Bristol. Especially seeing as "Long John" Silver was from Bristol in the novel.
Blackbeard spoke with a Bristol accent this is why pirates talk like that.
And several famous pirates were from the West Country.
00:50 WHOAAAAAA DUDE
"were from chicago, but were pretty hard with our R's" wild
Thank ya matey! I'll practice more on my pairate accent
Not all pirate's had a accent real a stereo type. Pirate's came from all over the world and from many country's
.
Bazza Chapman you don’t say
Yeah your right but these are the famous Caribbean accent
@@Sami-jt5ky This famous pirate talk is actually a West Country accent from Southwest England.
if they came from all over the world then they all had accents. you got to keep in mind an accent originates form one part of the world. and just so you know and i hope you truly understand this there is no such thing as "not having an accent" that incudes you Americans YES YOU HAVE AN ACCENT AND no it was not the most common accent during the 1600s and 1800s.
excellent!
Yaaaaaar this be helpful but I already have a pirate accent yo ho ho
Yo ho ho Is mr santa

You forgot about the part where you have to say "Fire in the Hole" everywhere you go

'The first thing I would tell them to do is to really invest in their arse'

Embrace your pirateness
*Pirates are coming*
I always wanted to speak with Captain Jack sparrow. He’s hot af😏
Robert Newton is the pirate
All your various dialects sound just about the same to me.
Simple, get a job at “Pirates Voyage” for a summer.
The last one from Boston sounds almost Australian.
"oi priate walk off the plank!"
lol. I came on this because I am doing a treasure island performance at skl
Chicken From skl lol I’m trying out for treasure island at my school tomorrow
Thank you for teaching me this because I wanted to scare my mom because I went to Disney World yesterday and I got pirate staff

Who the hell do people like her think they are, some kind of expert? Most people can talk like Robert Newton when playing Long John Silver.
Doing groufy back of through voice hurts might be doing It wrong
Ahoy me hearty

Soooo to summarize..
Embrace your “pirate-ness”. 😐
“Act like a pirate” …😐
Say “RRRrrrr” and “Shiver me timbers” a lot…. 😐
Apparently a professional vocal coach knows everything a 7 year old knows about talking like a pirate… 😐
You mean is “pirattitude”
!!!!!!
Yeah but like... This is just Hollywood isn't it? Is there any historical accuracy to it? 🤔
I dod not live in that time so we dont know , it is just a guess 🤣🤣😁 but thanks anyway
Yarr welcome aboard me ship. Me name is Captain Leader.
Go to Devon and meet the real thing
Americans can't do pirate. Stop waffling like a typical American and give us some actual impressions. Listen to a Bristol accent or Dorset and you will hear authentic pirate
Who's here for Pirate day free food at long john silvers 😆
Minnesota accent is a myth
_Foxy flashback_
kinda ez for brits lads!
Arrrrrr
Baylen Levine would be proup
Proud
Easy, Grow a Beard and drink RUM!
Just emulate an accent that's in between Irish and Appalachian Kentuckian. Or like the people that live on the Keys of North Carolina.
Lol failed on locker, then tried other accents... entertaining, but wouldn't pay for coaching.
Arrrrrrrrrr
Lol
WTF
This is a really bad example of "pirate" dialects (I live in the South West of England so I know the "pirate" accent well!)... Her Davy Jones sounded Geordie and her 'Cornwall pirate' sounded like he was from Wicklow. Look up Erik Singer if you want someone who understands dialects.
Did they really say shiver me timbers?
@@davidhelweg1449 Only when their timbers are actually shivered.
