    It’s great to see Full-Race’s success. I remember seeing the owner start this during the early 2000s on Honda-Tech, while he was still a college student.

    I've been wanting to get an upgraded turbo kit for my mazdaspeed 3. I thought full race was on the expensive side but now after seeing this, I'm going with the full-race kit. I'll take quality over price anyday

    I have a Full Race Kit on my K20 Civic. Ive had no issues and makes great numbers. I would recommend anything Full Race to anyone. You get what you pay for.

      I'm an old school fox Mustang guy... but damn I love that Evo 9. I have a buddy who has a very nice black Evo 8. That car is awesome. The 8 and the 9 are just amazing. I really don't care for the 10. I worked with a guy who was all about the 10, we would fight about which one is better all the time =) This is a great video my man. Full-Race is no joke. Very nice facility! Thank you for posting this one. You did a really great job.

    I have always been sold on Full Race but seeing the owner's knowledge and passion just reinforces that thought even more.

    I did gov construction and some of the pipes welded we used guys that welded in nuclear and the pharmaceutical field. They used “orbital” machines and they yielded the same type of welds but no electrode. It was so wild so to see these guys do a similar technique for race applications is amazing!
    You definitely get what you pay for and now that I know how these guys do it their products are a bargain no matter what. That technique is just that good!
    The quality cannot be compared to anything else in the world of welding.
    Our guys made me a little orbital welded keychain and I have to this day. Those welds are sexy.

    After seeing the quality control there's no doubt I will use Full Race to get my FA20 to where my FR-S needs it to be. I'd be happy with 320 hp at the wheels. I got the car for the turns. If I want a fast lap time I'll get on my bike. I want to put a turbo on that too.

    yeah this guy is SUPER knowledgeable. They've got crazy precision and quality products. They probably produce the highest quality manifolds there is. I wonder if they do titanium? If not they should. Not gonna have many titanium projects but they would be the leaders of the industry.

      I want to upgrade to a big turbo for my Mazdaspeed 6, but I'm not sure. I thought my stock turbo was maxed out, but it turns out my stock BPV is leaking and I'm waiting for my aftermarket one to arrive.

      SI0AX Haha, what can I say? Mazdaspeed 4 LYFE!
      Here's the low-down about the stock turbo (Borg Warner's K04): it only flows 35 lbs/min. This means on a Speed 3 that's fully bolted in a region with good-quality fuel, you can hit in the 290-300whp and 325-330wtq range on 93 octane. On a Mazdaspeed 6, you'll have lower numbers than this due to AWD drivetrain losses. I speak from personal experience, having tuned Gen 1 and Gen 2 Speed 3s, and Mazdaspeed 6s. If ethanol is in your area, you can run an E25-E30 blend and up those numbers to ~330/380 on a Speed 3.
      It all depends on your goals. I went with a BNR S3, which flows ~43 lbs/min, yet still spools really quick. On my ethanol blend tune, I put down ~385/380 in good weather. In the dead heat of summer, I'm down to about 365/355, but that's higher than it would be otherwise because I spray water-methanol too to keep my charge temps a lot cooler.

      SI0AX Yeah, far too many of their fakes. I personally run the Synapse Diverter valve. It's pricey, but it's the fastest reacting valve on the market. A lot of folks like the Corksport one and the GoFast Bits one that has custom-adjustable VTA. Technically we lost metered air if we VTA, and that causes issues with richness, popping, etc. But if you set it to just VTA like 25-30%, you can usually have the cool VTA sound with little to no drivability issues.
      If properly setup, a BNR S4 will generally hit 20 psi by 3,700 or so. I hit it by 3,250, and that's with a tune set to keep boost low in the bottom of the powerband to keep my stock block happy. And if you have a stock block, I think the S3 is the better choice, personally. If you ever want to build, you may want to get the S4. You should easily hit 450whp with it with proper supporting mods. I'm at ~385/380 @ the wheels on my S3.

      Ah, I talked to the seller and he was flat out honest but said the fakes perform well. He said I could return it after testing it and not being satisfied. HKS specifically made the 4 because the 3 was copied so much lol. I'll check out the synapse. I plan on keeping the stock intercooler because of meth.

      SI0AX The stock intercooler will be a major bottleneck if you upgrade your turbo. If you have your heart set on a top-mount, look into the CP-e on or the ETS one. You'll definitely need to upgrade with a bigger turbo. Stock TMIC flows like crap.

    Good video and fullrace make very cool products, although the factory could do with some 5S. haha
    One thing I noticed was the end tanks on the coolers did not look very aerodynamic, yet point was made of the CFD work on the turbo manifold. Wouldn't the charge system also benefit from a smoother path?

      +TheAuzzieSniper most professional fabrication shops have welding bays with hood extraction and you can get masks. Yes the fumes.are toxic but iys all risk management. Im a fabricator by trade and love getting to weld stuff like this up

    FR designs are in a weird place where they're not quite full race spec (Inconel etc), nor optimised for street use (runners too large and long). Great build quality for the price though.

    really wished they did d16 honda motors just due their turbo superior spool characteristics. planning on making a world record circuit d16 ej1 with their turbo but they only have k and b. lightweight as possible from top to bottom just like type r integra FWD hitting record proves dont need 800hp and everyone always doing weight reduction anyways but to start lightweight power plant i'm sure to prove people wrong

    3.5L twin turbo ecoboost motor into the ecoboost mustang.
    so much yes. IMO the base engine that the mustang should have had, then if you want more step up to the supercharged v8.

      As good as that engine is, its still an old iron block design at heart, that makes it much much heavier than even the 5L v8, its also comparatively a very long and tall engine.
      For cheap and easy power its a great engine (fantastic even, so much potential with so little work), for emissions, weight and handling its not the right choice though, for that the all alloy 3.5L V6 is a better fit.

      Your engine will have to "fill" bigger amount of air if your manifold is too big, so it has to fill big headers volume and then it will spool turbo, that creates turbolag. Same with big ass intercoolers, for example, lot of guys which dont know basic rules has Subaru Impreza with stock TMIC which is designed for stock turbo, they buy big front mount intercooler with very long IC pipes, it takes so much time for stock turbo to fill that big volume till it gets to throttle body, so if you are running stock turbo you dont necessary need bigger IC and bigger sized headers. I recommend to use software for those applications, for example lotus simulation or pipemax, or new 4T header wizard.

      Thats the drawback to shooting in a dark area on a manual focus camera. Its really hard to keep focus due to the short depth of field. Ill try harder next time!

      It's not that bad...but I get what you're saying...we do 5s at my plant...and after the initialization it's much easier to do quality,safe work in a space everyone is proud to work in...👍
