Pens are my absolute favourite topics to listen and talk about but mostly listen because i normally used very basic pens (literally like most of my pens cost 0.8 dollars or 10 bucks in my currency) i recently got into fountain pens because i thought educated big people use them and that is how i found yours and couple other channels and i was surprised as to how much more there is to it then just pick up and start scribbling. It's really nice to see and hear.
1. That's a bunch of beauties you got there. 2. My most used pen of late has been the Pilot Parallel, so I definitely would replace the full set. Sailor's zoom nib is my favorite, so I would replace my Young Profit , though the model and nib metal are not important. Other normal sizes I would replace from my Faber-Castell and Franklin Christoph pens, as those two brands make the best steel nibs. Finally, I would replace my Kaweco Sport , cause that's the only BB nib I could find, and it's great. I don't know why I have those other 60 pens...
Haha 😂 the other 60? They’re just for fun 😝. You know I don’t hear to many people show love to Faber Castell. I love their art markers, but the fountain pens I’ve tried haven’t been a hit for me. Which type do you like?
@@CarrotsOlives Interesting. We've had different experiences, as I would say I've heard a lot of praise for F-C. As a lover of slim pens, I get a lot of use out of my two F-C Neo Slims. To those who like a more normal girth I would recommend any of the pens with the nib covered in dots, like the Loom, Ondoro, Ambition, or e-Motion. That's a nice range of pen sizes and prices. However, if you have tried one with a dotted nib and just don't like it, take your own advice rather than mine.
I have wanted the twisbi mini in white rose gold but I have the iris vac and it’s too heavy. Is the mini much lighter? I love mini pens and twisbi nibs are really smooth for me.
Wonderful survey! I so regret being too late to get in on the Kilk you show. On the other hand, I am glad to have an Asvine P20 that consoles me for not getting the Leonardos. What a hobby!
Go ahead and say the bad word. LOL I know the feeling, especially pistons with an ebonite feed, but the pain cleaning out the pen is well worth the writing. Some excellent, excellent pens. I've been watching this topic over the past couple of days, and I am most impressed by your selection. The Mr. Cypress is stunning. I've been checking their site out. It has a gold nib on it right? A couple of things I think you might like. 1) An ebonite pen, and I mean just ebonite, not ebonite that is lacquered. It has a very warm, grippy feel to it. 2) If you like a smooth barrel, you might like an urushi lacquered pen. 3) I think you'll like a Pelikan M800 or M600. Pelikan has some of the smoothest nibs. 4) If you like independent pen makers, take a look at Newton Pens. He can do fully customized pens, and I mean fully customized. 5) If you ever get the chance to try an OMAS take it. SCRIBO are former OMAS peeps. Even better if you can get your hands one to buy.
Thank you for all your suggestions! I do have about 5 pelicans and I do like the nibs, but they didn’t make the list because of some issues I’ve been having with them. Yes the Mr. Cypress pen has a great nib, but they aren’t anything special. You pick between a jovo or bock. I have been looking into Urushi pens a little. That is looking to be my next goal pen, just gotta save up. 😊 Omas pens seem difficult to find so I don’t know if I will get to try or own, but I am more than happy with my Scribo.
@@CarrotsOlives What's wrong with the Pelikans? All 5 of them? Yeah, that is the issue with either the independent makers or most penmakers you get either Jowo or Bock. Personally I prefer Bock, but there are those that make their own nibs, but we know who they are, and the prices they command. Some are modifying nibs.
Nice selection! I've been tackling the "those I'd buy again" list after failing miserably this year on both the "single pen" challenge (!) and even the 5-pen list (one each: pocket, travel, everyday use, vintage/flex and grail). I thought I could get down to 10 and was briefly there but kept coming across others in my collection I had to add! At least I'm still under 20 😃. I know a lot of folks like the Platinum 3776 but it's not for me. I never could get the nib the way I like it. I'm also not a super fan of TWSBI but of their offerings, the 580 ALR is the best of the bunch in my view.
it would have been helpful if you could have listed the pen company names below in the description , because the pen makers I wasn't familiar with , some I tried to listen how you phonetically pronounced their names and sounded the names out to spell them when looking them up it took me a while to find a few of the names you mentioned
If you like watching Chris, you can't be all bad, no matter what everyone says.😊 Sorry, couldn't resist. My mom used to say that all the time. Some wonderful pens. I was especially happy the see The Diamond 580, the Feel, and the 3776. I greatly prefer gold nibs, but I became a TWSBO lover during the Covid lockdown. I bought as many (Morte!) expensive pens as I could afford, and then started buying TWSBIs out of sheer boredom. I ended up with twenty-eight of them. Way too many. I like them all, but the 580ALR and the Precision are my favorites, though the Vac700 is also a fun pen. I have the blue Feel, and it's one of my three daily carry, anywhere and anytime pens. I also make the Visconti Bronze Age, which is one of my favorite pens, a daily carry, and, oddly, perhaps, the Kaweco Brass Sport with a gold nib. I really don't know why I like the Brass Sport so much. It's heavy, it's small, it holds almost no ink, and the gold nib is overpriced, but I love it. I love watching the brass patina, and for some reason I find writing with it almost addictive. I rotate two or three more expensive pens, depending on where I'm going. I also almost always carry a TWSBI ECO, but I don't count it as one of my pens. It's just a great pen to hand to someone else who wants to see how a fountain pens writes, and it's cheap enough to give away, at least occasionally. I have four 3776s, but I just saw one in a video that is a Maki-e, and it was stunning. Now I'm trying hard to resist looking for one, but it keeps pulling at me. I already have two Namiki pans, a Maki-e and a Chinkin, and I really, really, really shouldn't even think about buying another Maki-e, but that one really was stunning. Anyway, great video, and a really great pen collection.
Wow what a collection! Very beautiful love.

@@CarrotsOlives I love the e-Motion (black version over the wood ones, which are beautiful but not well-balanced for me) and the Hexo.
Beautiful selection!
Many thanks!
Great collection! Some of them are on my wishlist. 😇🩷🙏🙌
Good choice!😊
A very nice collection, thank you so much for sharing!
Thanks for watching!
Gorgeous collection❤
Thank you!
I totally agree. It would be most helpful for us viewers if you posted the names of the pens that you mention in the description box.😊
Thanks for the advice. I need to stop being so lazy 😊

Thank you

That teal and purple pen! Did you say cardi pen writes is the maker? And did you get #6 nibs to swap out?
This is the link and yes the nib can be switched with Franklin Christoph. hardypens.com/
