I travelled Taiwan as my first asian country basically and stayed here for a couple months. I didnt speak any chinese but i had someone who could help me out with things.. All i can say is, i never regret it, and Taiwan is very very very safe and people are friendly and helpful. Nobody should be afraid of coming here and exploring the culture!
Taiwan is one of beautiful country in the world even it's tiny. I just came back my traveling of two and half months in Europe, to learn and experience different culture and lifestyle, I love Europe same time I love Taiwan. Each time in new country meeting new friends I introduce Taiwan, I told them what they can do, see, eat, such friends people little shy but really want to help and welcome them.
I'm always glad to see people enjoying my country, whether it's New Zealand or Taiwan. I have to say, that girl has guts! I wouldn't even hitch hike in New Zealand
One of my friend from France, during ten days from north to south, we explored lots of foods he told me this is first time in Asia, he was nervous before he came somehow he is here into our life, learn culture. Our country is tidy, clean, nice people, amazing food especially 24 hr shop they don't have.
Last few months I met some backpacker traveling in Taiwan, they told me Taiwan not like another Asia countries have many foreigner like this they can enjoy more with real local people, I saw different side of my country from them. Welcome all of traveler to discover Taiwan.

The video reminds of me a memory when my friend and I were left on in the middle of somewhere at night without light on the street. After 20mins of waiting, a taxi driver eventually stopped and gave us a ride for free. To be honest, don't stick with Taiwanese only when you study abroad. That doesn't change your life at all.
This why I love my country..Not for the fancy club,shopping mall.....The people here is god damn awesome. Most of my foreigners said that Taiwan is the best place for living,maybe not for traveling.Because You need some time to explore the charming part of Taiwan. They don't know how to explain the feeling ,but they kind of stuck on Taiwan. This vedio did touch my heart ..Good job u guys..I gonna share it with my friends around the world.

Taiwan is a very nice country and the Taiwanese people are very nice. Travelling in Taiwan is easy and comfortable. There is beautiful nature for hiking, lots of mountains with forests and waterfalls. Excellent food, food is for many Taiwanese an obsession and it shows. Taipei is a very dynamic city, good subway system.
I think they used a reflection form when they worded the title, as in "How come foreigners seldom come to Taiwan? They should definitely come more!" At least that was how I see it.
This vid is so positive in fact; but why there is a totally opposite title of the vid?? Is it for sensational purposes or something? I cant understand. The title should be Why do backpackers love to go to Taiwan, exactly.
The only inconvenient thing when I backpack to Taiwan when I was 19 as my first destination, I wasn't allow to purchase a phone SIM as the Taiwan regulation stated 21 and above which disappoint me. I manage to live on the old school way with public phone card & map the entire journey. Sorry for emphasizing the one & only disadvantage I came across but Taiwan still one of my favourite country to date after 4 years exploring the world.
+Liang Shuhua My friend purchased a SIM card at airport for two weeks Phone and 3G purpose, without problem. I should pass your concern to the Phone company and may be the department who handle the Mobilephone regulation. Eventually a lot of young man own a SIM phone in Taiwan.

Nicely done. But, IMO, this title is inaccurate and very misleading. With the plot and story it is telling, it should be "為什麼外國背包客應該來台灣" not the other way around. Anyone agree?

To be honest, don't stick with Taiwanese only when you study abroad. That doesn't change your life at all.

Taiwan is a very nice country and the Taiwanese people are very nice. Travelling in Taiwan is easy and comfortable. There is beautiful nature for hiking, lots of mountains with forests and waterfalls. Excellent food, food is for many Taiwanese an obsession and it shows. Taipei is a very dynamic city, good subway system.
I have been two weeks in Taiwan. I have visited Taipei, Tamsui, Pingxi, Yingge, Sanxia, Sun Moon Lake, Taroko gorge, Lugang, Tainan and Kaohsiung.

背包客預算控制很重要，譬如在東南亞或中國大陸玩可以用陸路交通連結省錢一次玩很多地方，如果首次想體驗中華文化也會犧牲台灣跑去中國大陸，而飛來島國玩通常有台灣朋友或譬如單車環島等目的性，不然不會順道經過，並且機票不便宜，但來過的都說讚！
常遇到外國的朋友，至少我的老外朋友(不一定是歐美)，對我們台灣的親切都讚不絕口!
至少... 也可以從你開始喔!
也要感謝善良的台灣人文阿！才能讓外國賓客有這麼好的經驗與評價～

補充一下：因為久居越南，我知道越南的觀光宣傳做得比台灣差非常多，而且越南在購物、人文、景觀、安全、價格、服務及友善度，以及當地交通狀況，都差台灣非常非常多，特別是北越，整體感覺上落後台灣3~40年，但每年依然有大量觀光客來越南觀光，而且人數比來台灣觀光來的多。這又是為什麼呢？所以很多時候，並非我們自己做得不好，而的確還是有一些客觀因素產生了很大的限制。

我旅行過亞洲的大部份國家，包括現在久居越南；若評估各方面條件，包含：購物、人文、景觀、安全、價格、服務及友善度，台灣肯定是最值得外國背包客來旅行的前三名亞州國家。但台灣有個先天上的弱勢，就是地理位置。比方說，當背包客來台灣後，只能在台灣一個孤島上旅行；但若去泰國，還可就近玩緬甸、寮國、柬埔寨及越南；若去新加坡，可以就近去馬來西亞和印尼；若去日本，可以就近再去韓國。
我在越南，每天都在請我的越南朋友，以及我在越南路上遇到的外國背包客來台灣玩。為數不少，所以才會得到以上的地理位置因素。而其實老外都知道台灣。背包客主要希望的是用少錢就可以看到最多東西，台灣一個孤島的確會影響他們來的意願！
至於越南的朋友，我問過，他們最想去的地方有三個，依序為：新加坡、泰國、香港。至於台灣，對越南人來說，除了感到陌生之外，最主要的是越南人很難能拿的到台灣簽證，因為過去有許多外勞跳機不回國的事件（包括泰國、印尼、菲律賓），所以台灣政府做了這個管制。這也是越南人和其他東南亞人來台觀光的一個很大的限制。而新加坡、泰國...等其他國家，因為都是東協的成員，所以相對來說，越南人要獲得簽證則十分容易，比較沒有這樣的問題。

不能接受國家落後的事實，將永遠無法進步。只可惜現在仍然有許多人有著「台灣已經很不錯了」的想法。
