I'll just stick to reaction channels like koko3op because every reactor (who are professionals in different things, like dance, voice, performance, producing) on there knows how to give respectful criticism and opinions without being rude and disrespectful. I clicked on the video hoping to hear some constructive criticism, but half of it was just showing off superiority and a 'I know better' attitude from the guy on the left. Not everything must look 'cool' or 'sexy', or fit the pop standards as you're used to. This video and others like this one deserve a fat dislike. well... in my opinion saying that aespa's vocal direction is poor is certainly a choice, aespa is one of the most outstanding groups when it comes to vocals these days and that's linked to their unique musical sound, these types of songs wouldn't sound the same with other types of voices and ad-libs, it would sound boring. aespa has many other melodic songs that demonstrate their undeniable vocal talent, such as lucid dream, thirsty, welcome to my world, hold on tight, etc. They even have ballads, but again, their tt will always be extra and I personally think that the way they handle their voices is what completes the structure of this type of sound, which it's not so melodic but experimental- hyperpop ish.
and maybe some comments weren't supposed to be rude but the way they were said sounded a bit off, so take that into consideration. It's my advice take it or leave it.

Honestly, the AI/Storyline sort of put me off them at first; I still find it silly. Their music and personalities won me over, though. Ning Ning is my Bias in the group, btw, though they are all really cool humans.

But the "hater" is extremely straight-forward when it comes to expressing likes/dislikes. He gives plenty of compliments, pointing out aspects he likes such as vocals & production. He says the "spiiiiCY" phrase is annoying, which is valid, and plenty of people agree (not me though, I love Spicy!) My friend, for instance, thinks Spicy is annoying, but she likes many other aespa tracks. No one is "trying to hate". It's preference. And no one has to justify why they find something annoying lol. I love how polarizing aespa is. I love their sound, and it's really interesting how songs I love by them that other people dislike, and songs I don't vibe much with (like Supernova) other people love. That's the great thing about music. We all find our own value and interpretation in the same set of notes :)

Y’all have to remember that not everyone has the same tastes in music, everyone has different opinions and ways of expressing themselves. They weren’t even that rude or mean with their comments as everyone here are trying to make it seem, sure some were more at face value and at times nitpicky (which they themselves acknowledge since they liked some songs/parts of a song) but that’s how first time opinions are formed, how redundant would it be if it was another reactor with nothing to say other than they are pretty and talented like a bunch of others trying to not upset the fans of said group they are “reacting” to (and I don’t blame them considering the comments under this video) In my case I LOVE aespas songs, lore and concepts and I can still get the points they are trying to make to “improve” the songs WHILE strongly disagreeing and finding the songs fine as they are.

Kazinho mentioned that the hook or the last hook or the last hook rather is where you make your impact. There was a time when that was true. Any producer or songwriter in todays age of streaming knows that you have 20/30 seconds to capture the lister before they skip to the next song. Skip the music intros and get rite to the point. At 51:00 I agree that the repetition is extra, but I actually loved that it was there. In my opinion, it only adds another layer of quirkiness to the alien concept aespa went all out for with Supernova.

well... in my opinion saying that aespa's vocal direction is poor is certainly a choice, aespa is one of the most outstanding groups when it comes to vocals these days and that's linked to their unique musical sound, these types of songs wouldn't sound the same with other types of voices and ad-libs, it would sound boring. aespa has many other melodic songs that demonstrate their undeniable vocal talent, such as lucid dream, thirsty, welcome to my world, hold on tight, etc. They even have ballads, but again, their tt will always be extra and I personally think that the way they handle their voices is what completes the structure of this type of sound, which it's not so melodic but experimental- hyperpop ish.
and maybe some comments weren't supposed to be rude but the way they were said sounded a bit off, so take that into consideration. It's my advice take it or leave it.

I read the comments before watching the reaction & expected forced negativity in the video. But the "hater" is extremely straight-forward when it comes to expressing likes/dislikes. He gives plenty of compliments, pointing out aspects he likes such as vocals & production. He says the "spiiiiCY" phrase is annoying, which is valid, and plenty of people agree (not me though, I love Spicy!)
My friend, for instance, thinks Spicy is annoying, but she likes many other aespa tracks. No one is "trying to hate". It's preference. And no one has to justify why they find something annoying lol.

I love how polarizing aespa is. I love their sound, and it's really interesting how songs I love by them that other people dislike, and songs I don't vibe much with (like Supernova) other people love. I really dunno why they keep looking for upbeat parts in some songs when the genre doesn't even match that... its not supposed to be upbeat, the chorus is not supposed to be upbeat, theres no point to include a upbeat ending, the 'ah oh aye' is the lyrics that most people will repeat, its catchy, its supposed to be repeated...

They weren’t even that rude or mean with their comments as everyone here are trying to make it seem, sure some were more at face value and at times nitpicky (which they themselves acknowledge since they liked some songs/parts of a song) but that’s how first time opinions are formed, how redundant would it be if it was another reactor with nothing to say other than they are pretty and talented like a bunch of others trying to not upset the fans of said group they are “reacting” to (and I don’t blame them considering the comments under this video)
In my case I LOVE aespas songs, lore and concepts and I can still get the points they are trying to make to “improve” the songs WHILE strongly disagreeing and finding the songs fine as they are.
