    I LIKE the different fonts in which the words "Match Game Productions" are written (different every time, almost)! 🙂

    H/H match update:
    ...
    Today's action:
    Going into round two, our challenger needs to match all six celebrities to achieve a tie. Never easy, but after hearing her question, I'm going to say it's impossible this time. Let's see who will play the part of the "villainess" today...
    Today it's Elaine who sends the champion home after a single victory and $2,850 in winnings...
    Today's audience match question: "Put ______ " (My thoughts: Off, Away, it in writing...)
    The celebs: Richard (-ting me on), Fannie ('em up! / it in the slot), Brett (up or shut up)
    Once again, the celebs came up with totally different answers from mine. Their choices actually sound better to me. If I were the contestant, I think I'd take Brett's answer...
    (After the contestant's selection, Scoey offers "Put down" which also sounds good. And Elaine hollers put "out" as a suggestion.)
    The choice: -ting me on
    The answers: Out, Down, On
    (Well the celebrities and I did equally rotten today! - Well, the celebs he picked gave rotten suggestions, anyway. He should have picked Scoey and Elaine, apparently.)
    This is now the *THIRD* audience match fail in four shows!
    No H/H question today!
    ~~~It's been a long time since I posted the list of celebs with exactly two H/H matches (partly because the list hasn't changed in hundreds of episodes), so I thought it'd be a good day to post it now. Only three names on the list are still "in play" (still have future weeks on the panel) with a chance of making that third H/H match and being promoted to the big leader board. Bill Daily is the most likely: he still has 8 weeks left, several of which occur after the Star Wheel is introduced. George Kennedy only has two weeks left (both before the Star Wheel). Jack Klugman has only one week remaining, but it's a Star Wheel week.
    Here are the celebs with exactly 2 matches (in alphabetical order):
    Note: Each celebrity's total number of weeks on "Match Game '7x" along with his/her first and last appearance is indicated.
    (An asterisk before their name indicates they've "retired" from MG, and their H/H stats are now complete.)
    (*)Charlie Brill 2 out of 3 attempts (66.7%) - (3 weeks total. First week: 281-285; Final week: 426-430)
    Bill Daily 2 out of 3 (66.7%) - (15 weeks total. First week: 101-105; Final week: 1451-1455)
    (*)Ann Elder 2 out of 3 (66.7%) - (10 weeks total. First week: 51-55; Final week: 491-495)
    (*)Stu Gilliam 2 out of 5 (40%) - (2 weeks total. First week: 41-45; Final week: 51-55)
    George Kennedy 2 out of 2 (100%) - (5 weeks total. First week: 666-670; Final week: 1166-1170)
    Jack Klugman 2 out of 5 (40%) - (5 weeks total. First week: 1-5; Final week: 1321-1325)
    ~~~Finally here's our standing leader board showing the 11 celebs with at least 3 H/H matches, ranked by accuracy:
    (Note: An asterisk before a celebrity's name signifies that she has "retired" from the show and her H/H stats are now complete.)
    (Note: For tied scores, I consider the one with the greater number of matches to be higher; if the matches are equal, the celeb who first achieved that score goes on top.)
    Orson Bean - 100% (4 wins in 4 attempts).
    TIE: (*)Jo Anne Worley - 75% (3 wins in 4 attempts).
    TIE: Joyce Bulifant - 75% (3 wins in 4 attempts).
    Gary Burghoff - 71.4% (5 wins in 7 attempts).
    TIE: Charles - 50.0% (33 wins in 66 attempts).
    TIE: Betty - 50.0% (19 wins in 38 attempts).
    Fannie - 48.3% (14 wins in 29 attempts).
    Jo Ann Pflug - 44.4% (8 wins in 18 attempts).
    Richard - 41.8% (266 wins in 636 attempts).
    Brett - 41.2% (28 wins in 68 attempts).
    Bert Convy - 33.3% (5 wins in 15 attempts).
    *These stats include every head-to-head match from episode 1 through 978, excluding the lost/missing/damaged episodes: 31, 32, 33, 311, 312, 313, 324, 325, 645, and 910. (As per MatchGameProductions, these episodes "are nowhere to be found and also aren't in the Goodson/Todman Library. Sadly, looks like they are lost forever!") -- Also, note that episode 849 was never produced. Additionally, these stats do, however, include the H/H results of missing episode 968 as those results were revealed in episode 969.

    Hey, Lorrie. You're a groovy chick. Want to come with me to the Peter Frampton concert? We can take my older brother's old 67 Cougar with power windows and a new 8-track deck and stop at Burger City on the way.

    When Stella said she was single, the camera did not focus on Richard Dawson as usual.

    3 xs they chose Richard's answer and they struck out. Yet, if they don't choose his answer and he's at the 500 mark he really rags on them. 🤔

      The reason why he gets on my nerves sometimes.

    • @kevansf
      @kevansf ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Yes, it's hard to blame a contestant for not taking Richard's answer because he's been known to berate them if they don't: "Why didn't you trust me? We would have been playing for $5,000 now!" I imagine he's (sort of) kidding, but his tone and facial expression don't convey any humor to me.
      At any rate, here are some recent examples of when Richard was chosen to give the first suggestion but his answer wasn't anywhere on the audience match board: Episodes 901, 902, 906, 911, 914, 921, 923, 927, 949, 975, 977, 978.
      So when Gene says (as he did in an earlier show) that Richard is always right, I have to shake my head.
