This was a very funny episode.
I listen to hundreds of old time radio comedies and I watch every old television comedy that I can find.
The Jack Benny programs stand out in all categories- performers, writing staff, music and good enjoyment.
Thank you for sharing all of your many, many uploads.

The reference to “television” in this 1936 episode caught me by surprise.

Television was getting close. The first TV baseball broadcast was 1939 at Brooklyn NY

I only listened to Jack Benny in the 40's and 50's. I decided to try something earlier. This episode was hilarious. I guess I will now listen to earlier episodes. Thanks for sharing.

Interesting how Phil Harris underplayed his part in some of the earlier episodes in reality Harris was as different from his on air persona as Benny was from his I would argue they were the best comic performers of the radio era (male performers)

I agree, timeless. Jack and Mary’s daughter Joan still looks healthy at 87.

This episode is an excellent example of Bill Morrow's/ Ed Beloin's early work in developing the Benny's ensemble personalities.

@@label1877 I hate to break this sad news to you, but Ms. Joan left us on June 10,2021 just seven days before her 87th birthday. R.I.P.

That FAKE “laugh” that Mary Livingston always does is irritating.

It is a little grating. By all accounts she didn’t like performing. However, there r times when her sarcasm & timing r brilliant!
