Pac is more literal and emotional. Lupe is more intellectual and metaphorical. just different ways of expression but both have the same motivations, speaking about the world's ills. Pac no doubt has more influence but Lupe is better technically imo
So here’s what plays in my head - there’s a veteran superhero fighting alongside a young prodigy - keeping the city safe from villains. When Lupe says “says he hates this city now” it shows a scene of the two superhero’s on the roof where the young one says to the veteran he’s had enough and is retiring, leaving the veteran to fight alone. The veteran faces a powerful villain too strong for him to fight alone and he takes a beating. All the while u see news reports of where has the young prodigy gone and the city needs him. The young prodigy is seen sitting in a cafe incognito with hat trying to live normally. Switch back to a stand off on a rooftop between the veteran and villain and the villain where the veteran is beaten to his last breathe and the villain issues a final blow sending the veteran off the roof falling to his death. Back to the young prodige it shows the cafe waiter turn away from the prodige to get his drink, and when he return to bring it he’s gone “busted through the roof” flies super fast and catches the veteran just before he hits the ground. The young prodige is now back. He finishes off the villain and in true last scene he carries the body of the veteran now dead - walking down the street with the crowd on each side distraught over the loss. He lays the veteran to the public to give him his final send off and the young veteran shoots off in the air to continue his career as the new superhero. End
Most amazing track from Food And Liquor Part 2 The Great American Rap Album I loved all of the tracks Lupe Fiasco never disappoints! I also got a lot of respect for this dude since 2006!
Yeah really under rated track! I found this on "Slight Work 3" mixtape the very last track by pure accident. Can't get enough. Really progressive and awesome. Loving the crossover beats
See the message brother we ain't just talkin bout blacks being oppressed he talkin bout not havin hatred in our hearts. At the same time the real enemy is the ones we cannot see; the few men who rule this world monetarily... They turnin us all against each other.
Think about it... We always pointed the finger at each other while the fuckin 1% keep chillin and getting richer over our fucked up shit. We should protest against them sorry ass mfs bruh. Go to the Federal Reserve go to the World Bank; wreck Bill Gates home.
Anyone know who did the music on this or what was sampled? It's a very familiar sound/style and can't quite put my finger on it. Love this shit! Been on repeat.
Lol @ people getting offended at Lupe being better than pac. First off, they're on different pages, barely the same book. I love Changes by Pac. All I can accurately say, is if Lupe and Pac were both given IQ tests, Lupe would score off the charts.
let me just start off by stating ive been a lupe fan since FnL, with that being said lupe is about 31 pac died at 25. The influence and vision pac had surpassed lupe no doubt. but I guess if you just base being "better" on IQ, then that really doesn't matter
Pac certainly accomplished a lot in his 25 years. I think that's the age Lupe released Food & Liquor. I'd say Lupe's artistry surpases Pac's. But that's because Pac had so little time to accomplish such mastery
American Terrorist 2 he shows that the terrorist was a hero at some point . Two sides to every story , a terrorist in one persons eyes is a hero in others. In 2 u get the broad view of a person transitioning from realizing the people he want to save actually represent the evil in the world that he despises. In 3 u get a more personal look at who the terrorist is. Really cool song in my opinion.🙌🙌🙌🙌
How the hell did the lupe vs. Tupac argument start?? Their totally different types of artists! And I know I'm gonna fet attacked but bottom line pac was overrated. #Facts btw Lupe is 1 of the illest out right now. He is ALWAYS on some other shit, taking HUGE risks to make the music he wants to make instead of just taking mad$$$from a label & agreeing to "take suggestions &do what's in the companys interest. 90% of "signed" artists are told how & with who to work with on their music. Especially albums! Mixtapes are a different story... im done.

i got chewed out for saying that Pac wasn't a lyricist...and it's like...he wasn't. he was a rapper who spoke about some real stuff at times..but he's not a lyricist like Lupe or Wale...
you ain't saving them from danger; you're keeping danger safe.
This line though... From Black Lives Matters to the State's ears.
That line alone, Hit so damn hard!
This line has never felt so apt!
Lupe will always be relevant it's a shame he's so underrated
He's a shining light to those who have eyes to see and his music is a taste of freedom to those who have ears to hear.

Random hi yoh
@@BoxingPanda56 Random Hi to you
Honestly I agree about the Pac being more emotional and Lupe being more methodical but idk that he's better... I haven't listened to too much Pac tho
Lyrically pac wasn't the best, it was about his voice and message, so lupe technically a better rapper rapper
Nas and Pac are Lupe’s influence. He credits them in “Hurt me Soul”. He is great in his own right and honors his rap forefathers.
2020 still listening
How did this not make it to any of his albums thou, shm. Lu been deep since.......
I wish someone made an animated video for this lol
I would love to see this happen.
That would be dope . But not better then the one in my head that plays as the song plays . Vivid bruh

Lupe, in some ways, is like a new age Pac. This is powerful
Some of his most in depth creative work to date. And he's still impressing.😎
Remembered this song when going through artists i don't listen to anymore, used to be a huge Lupe fan and this is still a banger.

Think you underestimate Pac tbh. Lupe is a genius though, musically he is one of the best. Occasionally gets it wrong though.

Can someone explain to me the continuity between the 3 american terrorist songs? Like I just don't see it.
American Terrorist 2 he shows that the terrorist was a hero at some point . Two sides to every story , a terrorist in one persons eyes is a hero in others. Under-rated track. Nuff said.
