I always pay mine in Song Pha ( a remote small town near Dalat ) 30K . You can eat it in both ways ( dipping in the sauce or pouring the sauce over ) . The white stuff on the Bun Thit Nuong is actually pickled daikon ( not papaya ) . The lady pushing the carriage was collecting cardboard for recycling . The fried Spring Roll are called Cha Gio in the South , Nem Ran in the North and Ram in the Center . Nuoc Mia Sieu Sach means Super Clean or Super Hygienic Sugar Cane . The meat balls in your Banh Mi are called Sui Mai . The fruit in your free drink looked like Lychee (Vai ) not Rambutan ( Chom Chom ).

You guys speak my mind, if I go back and live in Vietnam, I will eat at a different place everyday .

I'm too lazy to dip for each bite like northerners, so I pour fish sauce over my banh cuon so I can devour it quickly. 😁 That banh cuon place definitely is northern origin as they sell banh cuon and banh tom (something not seen often, but you should have tried it as it's so underrated and deserves it's place in the great Viet food line up) and the cinnamon sausage - all came from the north. Bun thit nuong is southern origin, but many people say the northern equivalent is bun cha (which I don't think is similar enough for people to keep saying the two are southern or northern equivalents). Nem nuong is Central region. All great eats and definitely worth way more than the $5 for how delicious and fresh they are.

When i was there there was a Polish lady who manages two vegan restaurants in Edinburgh and she confirmed this restaurant serves good food. Baguets are luxury in the Philippines. So French Bread and some little swiss cheese or butter will be a delight. 5 dollars go a long way in Saigon. On my first few visits, i dont trust Vietnemese street food vendors. So i only ate at KFC. The KFC in Vietnam is sooo good, it has salad, soup, and some bread.
