  • It isn't what you might think. I did finally quit a bad habit of mine though. Unfortunately it wasn't soon enough and I have had to deal with a few health related issues. All in all, it could be much worse and I am doing just fine.

Glad you are doing better. Praise Jesus that you went to the doctor before it was a bigger issue. I quit smoking about 17 years ago, not easy but definitely a good decision. God Bless! Kevin

So glad to hear the good news about your health concerns. Crazy about the hutch. I’m impressed for the most part the birds stayed in. My hutch is in a shed. I put a screen across the shed door when I leave it open to keep unwanted critters out. It never fails… if I forget and leave a hutch door unlatched, I return the next time to find at least five or six quail on the floor of the shed. The hutch doors swing open from the top so they are either literally falling out or are so curious that they investigate the crack at the bottom of the door. I’m always thankful I have the screen because it also keeps the birds in. 😅

Interesting. I have a board across the bottom of mine that they would have to jump over to get out. I wonder if that is what keeps them in. Just a thought.

Oh my goodness. I'm glad to hear that you are OK. I quit smoking last year, and it was 3 days of me rocking back and forth like a crack addict. It was awful, but I pushed through it. I'm happy you had no complications with your procedures. See you around the youtubes.

I am glad you quit smoking. I quit over 30 years ago and it likely saved my life. I had a stroke a couple of years ago and fully recovered. I tried the meds but had several MAJOR issues from very bloody urine to peripheral neuropathy to my BP over 200/100. With natural products and supplements like niacin I am doing fine. I changed my diet and eat more healthy foods. In the 1990's I lived on 15 acres in the country. I raised some chickens and turkey. The next door neighbors did not want animals close to them (even though it was in a farming area) as they were city folk. We had strange things happen to our poultry as well. When we were not home things that could not open/turn on would be found open/turned on when we got home. Then my ex-wife seen the teenager next door come home with something in a cage. The next thing you know, all my bantam chickens were killed but not eaten. I placed a trap near the chicken coop (the regular laying chickens were still alive) and I caught a weasel. I was working the night shift (12 hours) and by the time I found it, it has died of stress I suppose. Anyway I would place a camera out by your coops as it is likely a person who does not like animals and lives close is doing the evil deeds, OR maybe young people looking to cause trouble. God bless!

We lost all our Chickens one time. We were gone for the week end and a friend of my son's came by to visit. They were always interested in our Chickens and went out to see them and left the gate open and left. My own dogs wiped them out for me. We came home to find the carnage and didn't know for a month why the gate was open.

    1) Kudos that you managed to quit smoking. I did too, many years ago, and did it cold turkey - no patches/gum. Also, glad to hear you are doing better.
    2) May as well put some cameras out now to avoid any losses, can't hurt.

Good morning Chris. I am glad to hear that you have quit smoking. As far as your condition is concerned, I can tell you that cholesterol and smoking do have something to do with arterial diseases! I am a retired nurse, I worked in the cardiology for years. If you change your diet to a low-fat diet, you'll most likely be able to stop using the statin at some point. My advice is not to do this without medical advice. Please stay in touch with your cardiologist. If you have any questions about heart disease, I'll be happy to answer them.

I smoked for 30 years and quit last year.
I switched to vaping slowly by going high nicotine on it, real high. Eventually I became addicted to the vape as my body realized there was more nicotine in it and I quit the cigarettes. Then I stepped down the nicotine to zero over the course of a year on the vape, and by the time I hit zero nicotine I had no desire to really vape.
Each step down was hard. I would vape extra but eventually I got used to the new nicotine level and then I would do it again.
Never going back and have no desire to do so!
    Congrats man!

Good for you for quitting! As a nurse, i recommend you get a second opinion on the statin. I would seek out the opinion of a DO as opposed to an MD. MDs unfortunately often do what the AMA and big Pharma tell them to do.

The Dr has replaced your smoking habit with highly questionable pharmaceutical habits that you'll have to see him constantly to maintain.

Try Nicolette gum. It makes quitting smoking easier than usual because you chew the gum but keep smoking. What it does is slowly wean you off of smoking so that you end up not even wanting to smoke. Then after quitting smoking you might chew the gum for a couple of weeks then quit the gum.

Almost 3 years of changing symptoms so confusing. Quitting inhalers helped. I quit smoking last year. Hard to do. Gained about 7 pounds. Can't find relief in my chest. Harder to function.

Its kind of harsh but I tell them don’t lie to yourself, you only say it to make yourself feel good but you didn’t quit you only took a brake. I never smoked. My wife smoked most of her life . We’ve been married 19 yr. she only stop because 2 yr into our marriage second hand smoke stated to affect me. She stopped smoking 17 years ago and thank god she has no desires to smoke again. Hopefully you quit smoking and not just took a brake.👍🏼
