One of the Most Beautiful Voices of All Times! Enya uses this Gift most impeccably as an instrument to frequently lull us into a trance! My Mother turned me on to Enya back in the 80’s & she remains one of my Top Three Female singers/song writers through all these decades! I AM SO GRATEFUL! ❤❤❤❤❤❤❤
This song has been around for over a century and many musicians have sung it. Enya by far does the best job. It sounds very fairytale like. The first song you hear anything Heaven's gates.😃
This is one of my favorite songs of all time. I listened to this a ton when I was little and it’s honestly just gotten more and more beautiful to me over the years
Just finished watching The Age of Innocence with Daniel Day-Lewis and Michelle Pfeiffer and this song was featured in what I consider to be one of the most beautiful scenes of the movie.
I don’t understand how beautiful this song is…it’s like literal Beauty in song form. Everything about it is so beautiful. Everything is as beautiful as it could possibly be. The background music, her voice, the backup humming, the melody…it’s like whoever made this song sat down one day and thought “Hmmm…I wonder how I could make the most beautiful song of all time.” Even the overall feeling of this song is just pure beauty, pure grace and pure peace….It’s unreal….I feel like this is one of the only songs that truly makes me think of Heaven and what I think Heaven will be like….This song is really so Heavenly. I guess that’s a good way to describe this song…Heavenly.
I've been searching forever for the song... I originally heard it in (believe it or not) an old Laurel & Hardy movie from the 30's called "The Bohemian Girl." I've loved this song since I was a very little girl in the 50's.......
"Believe it or not": I do believe. I myself have been haunted by this tune since I heard it in my childhood in Vietnam, in the fifties, through watching the "Bohemian Girl" with Laurel and Hardy! And it was only in the nineties that I rediscovered it through Enya's mesmerizing rendition.
Yes, I also remember it from the L & H movie. Watch that scene carefully as you will see that Oliver Hardy loved it so much he was genuinely moved to near tears.
Thank you Mary. * The greatest woman ever, told me 'once'. Some people are like a bucket with a hole in it. No matter how much love you pour into them, they are never satisfied

One of my favorite ones that she has done! Love the lyrics! Like an old folk ballad, but I think I heard that it was an opera aria! Gorgeous! I can imagine hearing it through the Pearly Gates if my soul's so blessed!
You can hear that very same hum at the beginning of "Evacuee". But fainter, like coming from far away. I wonder if those two songs are linked somehow..
@@patriciaedwards6793 because I grew up among religious people. Delusionals in particular. As I am talking to you,one of them is saying am playing rubbish. A heated argument. are you irish or american?

I wish that there were actually more like her but she's in whole different class herself, she's incomparable. She's got something going for her that many obviously do not.
Oh, my goodness, this is simply beyond beautiful! I first heard Enya sing this at the end of an endearing 1994 made-for-TV movie, Good King Wenceslas, starring Jonathan Brandis as the good Prince Wenceslas. It was exquisitely beautiful, and quite appropriate, for that film.
I got hooked on this song when Andy Griffith played it in the movie 'Angel In My Pocket', at the burlesque house when searching for a new organ for the church.
Qui Enya si supera , per la gioia di noi mortali , e ci regala uno dei pezzi più belli di sempre . Magia e maestosità si rincorrono con felice sintesi .
Will always be my one of my favorites ☺️❤️ "But I also dreamt which pleased me most That you loved me still the same, That you loved me You loved me still the same, That you loved me You loved me still the same."

Very beautiful, but you should check out Jessye Norman and Joan Sutherland doing this as they both have among the most beautiful voices of all time. These trained opera divas lift this to another level.
