I am grateful to be able to write that around 1980 when I was assistant banquet manager in a famous restaurant in the theater I got to ask Jackie Kennedy if I could pour her some wine. I had heard that she wouldn't speak to people who didn't have the right to speak to her as she wanted to live her life in Manhattan as a private individual. But I was staff so I knew I could approach her. She was beyond beautiful; there was something about her that was ethereal, regal and almost other worldly -- I was happy for all her happinesses and sad for all her sadness -- such an incredible woman!
Such a wonderful story, yet you mentioned nothing of her response to you. I suppose that's a memory you now wish to keep private . . . just one brief moment in time shared between you and the iconic Ms. Jackie Onassis.🍷🍾
@@AlmondJoie Jackie's response to me was polite but minimal and that's why I didn't elaborate on it. I was "staff" to most of these elegant famous people (in fine dining in Manhattan I met many famous people, Jackie just being one of them.)
Intelligent people can see through the superficial facade. People that conform don't think.
Jackie was elegant and majestic. She was the class of a nation during our darkest time. God bless her.
The First Lady to become a fashion icon, talented and admired by many. Knew how to cope with dignity.
Sadly missed x
How she handled such a horrific tragedy with calmness and dignity. She had to have suffered from PTSD.
I remember all of that history and events of Jack and Jackies life. I still remember the day Jack was shot and where I was. One never forgets things like that. They are imbedded in your member forever. Thanks for the memories.
To this day I still have a vivid memory of coming back from lunch and our 2nd grade teacher literally was crying.
She was so elegant and classy❤
I loved the way she dressed and her demeanor!🌹
@@lashonearl6548 I might add she didn't have any family money of her own like the Kennedy's did, she dressed fashionably on taxpayers money. That's why she married Onassis for his money and security. She was a wannabe aristocrat, just because you barely speak French doesn't mean you're Paresian French.
Why compare sisters to each other? “Once again she left her sister in shade” sounded so wrong.
What you said is all facts. Had these women left to their own devices, there wouldn't have been any strife between them that they couldn't overcome. Unfortunately, the media is vicious.
Jacqueline much more famous than Lee. She stole Ari Onassis from her Sister.
Jacqueline had a monstrous ego and spent Millions of Onassis Money! She got a 20 Million Settlement from Christina Onassis! A very spoiled woman!
Teddy Kennedy and NYC Attorneys worked the Settlement ( hired by Jacqueline)!
She was sophisticated, young and beautiful . America never had a 1st Lady like her before .
JFK knew she was a tremendous asset wherever he traveled
May she Rest in Peace.
With love from Latvia🇱🇻
“The first marriage is for love, the second for money and the third for companionship.”
Jackie was a jewel whose background was perfect for being First Lady. I was a child of 9 when the tragic events of Dallas occurred and I'll never forget the graceful and dignified way she acted during the whole funeral. She literally led us in our grief and was only 33 when it occurred. It was a deep wound that took a long time to heal. I followed her over the years and was truly sad at her early and untimely death. She had every right to be buried next to John at Arlington and indeed belonged there. She was a great figure in American history besides her husband Jack. May they both RIP.
me too...and for your info, i was born in the same year that Caroline was...1957.
I was close to turning 9 when J.F.K. was assassinated. My parents were pleased as were many other adults at that time. Why is this truth not discussed? I was not happy about it but many adults were; mostly Republicans I suppose and some other people in the world.
I was 9, as well. In the 4th grade. I remember my teacher crying. I had never heard the word “assassinated” before. I had no idea what it meant until one of the other kids in my class told me. I didn’t think such a thing was possible. The world was never the same after that horrific afternoon. Sixty years ago today. 💔
❤ thank you for the upload of this wonderful video essay.
I love how this documentary tells Lee’s story also and her many attempts at escaping her sister’s shadow. And nothing sums up Lee's place in the world like the title of this documentary. Jackie: A Tale of Two Sisters.
Poor Lee. I hope she gets her flowers from somebody someday before she leaves us.
Lee Bouvier Radziwill (among other names) died February 15, 2019. Too late for flowers.
When Kennedy was running for president his father's past as a pro nazi was completely suppressed. Jackie was a huge advantage to the Kennedys 🎉
Excellent commentary. Thank you for posting this!
That Ron photographer was the definition of a Stalker, what a creep!
Excellent very well done thank you
Thank you! Jackie eas and still is a fashion icon! What a beautiful woman!
She was so classy. She carried herself with class and dignity ❤❤❤. She was beautiful 😊
I have always been so obsessed with JO!!!
I loved her. Such a strong woman who I have always admired for her grace.
Video is very well done.
Thank you
too young to deal with what she had to deal with.. tragic life, but then, this is part of American history!
Beautiful work 😢❤
OMG that paparazzi was way too obsessed with her in an unhealthy way 🤦♀️
Wholesome and vulnerable , just enough within these pictures. Would be a dream having black and white film or documentary done ! Isn't much fun living like a Kennedy and not looking the part.
'shine a mirror on him "😂😂 love that!
This story! Brought tears! 2 my eyes!😢
My brother's friend saw her in-person when he was a student at Harvard years ago when she was visiting Caroline. He described her as "arresting." I like how the designer Valentino described her. He said "she was not a classic beauty, but she was extremely striking. Meeting her was like touching the sky with your finger."
She was before my time, but so interesting to hear about, via documentaries & 📚... she was clearly an intelligent women, & savvy in regards to "marrying 💰" which helped her to maintain a certain lifestyle, that is obvious. 🤔
Jackie O was a beautiful and intelligent woman.❤❤❤ Who contributed to the Kennedy Legacy.
Iconic and incredible
Her style is gorgeous because of the 60's era. If she lived in 80's she would wear horrible makeup, shoulder padded oversized jackets and frizzy hair. Fashion style of the 60's is very flattering to women.
Puff ball skirts, rah rah skirts, massive collars on women's dresses (Princess Di used to wear them when William was a baby).
In the early 80s when William was very young she was pictured wearing dresses with massive collars. Sarah Ferguson was pictured in a puff ball skirt.@@meeeka
N’all, Oleg Cassini dressed Jackie O. She would not have had big hair and shoulder pads. Trust and Believe
Jackey went down into history as "the Greatest Lady Shopper" along with her tremendous collection of shoes and bags :)
The losses of the Kennedy family - one of the greatest tragedies of America.
❤❤❤Jackie Kennedy . Admired her greatly .
Jackie Onassis: "That man is terrible" (referring to MLK for being an adulterer).
JFK: Hold my back brace...
Yeah, but MLK was a preacher man. The FBI files on him will cause a commotion when they're finally released. He treated women like dogs , just like the Kennedy men did. Some say worse.
You just have to love how the photographer states he lost his case because of who appointed the judge, but not about the details of the case.
Incredible documentary of insight into Jackie. Bravo
Jacqueline was a social climber and money hungry. The marriage to Ari Onassis was a financial deal!
@@kdtennis1 what's your point? Bc that's obvious. Lol. My praise is for the documentary itself. And the insight it gave me. Never did I compliment Jackie as a person. Especially bc I agree with what you DO say. 🤦
Very good - she looked v like her father- a very unique life
Wonderfully done! Loved the video footage of the JFK death
Jackie was brought up to be a social climber & gold digger since her own family had fallen on hard times. Lee was terribly jealous of her older sister. Then Jackie stole Lee’s sugar daddy… Onassis. This was a family bent on making the best of their names. Money was everything
That's the culture of that era. Using 21st century ideology to judge women who were brought up almost 100 years ago doesn't sound wse, actually quite narrow minded. Society has evolved since, so have women.
@@sherry8339 its not era -- it is still happening right this moment. so dont blame on it being a different era. what remains constant is rich ppl have more to lose and therefore will do anything to protect and maintain their status
@@User-19382 Completely agree and then I'm trying really hard to see her physical beauty !
Jacqueline had status as a Former US First Lady! She was not beautiful, but had class and wore stunning and stylish clothes!
❤😢a legend of greatness
I love her. ☮️💟
R.I.P Ms. Kennedy. You will forever be missed. 💐
Thank you for putting this Story of Jackie & Lee together. I remember Jackie as a beautiful young lady & I to was disappointed that she chose to remarry Mr Onassis.
She needed the protection for her children. They came first, good mother. He could offer her the best protection.
Love the British flair given to this video to make sure you know them and the Kennedys at royal!
Jackie and Diana - role models!
Vern & Lee here so sorry for the loss of your father in law....he sounded like a treasure and I hope fond memories of your times together flood your minds so sorry for Ben we love your chanel and thank you for your videos we e nj9y them so much and 7m hoping to harvest my lavendar stems for flavoring my sugar like I saw c on your chanel. I often try to incorporate your ideas 8nto my home with my southern bent towards it. Including flying the grand union in honor of rev war family soldiers. Our hearts see end love and prayers on your loss I believe a e are getting close that a similar situation with my father in law hes older and dealing with many health issues. Guess its the age if things for our generation. Still hard to accept even when 8t is expected. Love to all.
❤Jackie knew how to play the game ❤. Sr. gave her an enormous amount of money.
we are living in times were people are worshipping celeberties, intelligent people can see past the facades.
PFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFT
I'm assuming you're one of these "intelligent people" ? Yet you don't even know the difference between were, we're and where?
God bless you and your family
Jackie was terribly close to Hugh, merry mothers second husband. He was very good to Jackie during her dark times of trouble and worry.
Even on Wikipedia which too many people depend on as reality, there is no mention of the FACT that Anthony Stanislaw Albert Radziwill worked in Chase bank's executive offices in Manhattan around 1980. I know he did! My friend's wife trained him! I don't have the exact year but once his training was done and his identity was revealed to a Victoria Wroblewski at that time, I've never read anything about Anthony and Chase bank.
I knew Victoria very well. I still have conversations with her husband quite often. Victoria or "Vickie" as her friends call her is married and she no longer carries the name of "Wroblewski". There are so many important omissions about people that are significant. The most important thing for me is Vickie's descriptions of him at the time that he was a nice, very stylishly dressed gentlemen and well liked.
I was in 5th grade when Kennedy was assisinated. I always considered her my role model even though a kid doesn't really understand that. It is a crying shame that the kids nowadays do not have good role models from which to learn. Thank goodness Lee was such a good sister, especially during the trying times. Paparazzi should be dearmed with all public figures carrying mace so if those bas.tards get too close, aim for their face. Another example is Princess Diana and the horror she faced. Beautiful documentary, thank you.
Jackie a "good role model"- what a joke! Can you point to one contribution she made to make your life better?! You're certainly welcomed to recommend Michelle Obama/Hillary/Katie as additional phoney role models for future inane leftists who seriously believe that the higher up a person's social status is, the more admirable he/she is... I bet you trust those characters more than you trust your own neighbors for the simple reason that you know nothing about them! Here is a clue for you to use on your possible, but not probable growing up journey: those "Paparazzi" that you find so objectionable, are actually the ones who feed you the fairy tales you subscribe to regarding your "role model" celebrities (really moronic/socially ambitious materialists in the best case scenario, or degenerate/criminal in the worst), whose pictures accompany some made up story by the bribed lying media you consume mindlessly.... Happy grazing & of course boostering, courtesy of those who lose sleep over your wellbeing....hahaha!
I was also in fifth grade! My family had taken me and my siblings to San Francisco for fun. But, JFK was assassinated. Every restaurant we went into had the television on. Everyone was in shock.
Well it isn't exactly politically correct to say anything negative about the first lady. I still think she was self serving.
I love you Jackie!
Examplary of elegance
Lee is a beautiful name.
This woman is a cultural icon and highly influential woman in American history that people need to let rest. Her wide set eyes were a genetic condition and people can’t constantly bash her now for not being beautiful.

The narrator introduces Maurice Tempelsman, the guy standing beside Jackie in the photo is not Maurice Tempelsman.
Somebody was editing in their sleep.
Jackie Kennedy Onassis...Declan's beloved granny. I wish that I could have met her.
If JFK was captivated by Jackie's beauty and intelligence, why did he have so many affairs?
Sex addictions in powerful men have absolutely nothing to do with the wife’s beauty, kindness, gifts or lack of same. They find a place to put it. People are objects.
JFK had a first wife, who his paid off for a divorce and silence, so he could marry Jackie. An arranged marriage and the fact he was a pig.
Ron STALKED her. I'm happy we have these images, but at what cost to her and her family. Everything in moderation.
Shame on the photographer who constantly stalked her. Targeting a grieving mother trying to raise young children being constantly harassed and he seems so proud of himself.
In my view, Caroline Lee Bouvier, later Canfield, Radziwiłł, Ross is most certainly NOT American royalty. She was the sister of a beloved, gracious former American First Lady, period.
Plus she mostly lived in Europe at the time so Americans didn't see her much
What nasty comments. It is bad karma to speak ill of the dead.
What a life, right !
It's funny how they want to glorify this golddigger attitudes and comparing her to Cleopatra who is a legend. XD
Clothing, refreshing.
God doesn’t see Lee Radziwil as just the sister of Jackie O., even if some did.
And that’s really what matters.
you talked to god? you called him on your i phone? he texted you back? he told you this? sure sure
@@annedonker4795God isn’t shallow like humans, that is the point the commenter was making. People (humans) love Jackie because of her style, the fact she was a high status and rich man’s wife, that she herself came from those things and had good breeding. ALL those things I just mentioned why people love Jackie for ARE shallow things.
No not true they are highly valued in an increasingly mentally ill world over reliant on so called metal health experts@@SnowLeopardForever
Thinking of Princess Diana ❤
I just love love love my princess Diana❤️❤️❤️
Listening 🎉 compliments 😌
She was overrated & money oriented.
There was nothing „stylish“ in the way she ( with the assistance of Edward Kennedy) treated Aristotle‘s beloved daughter Tina after Ari died.
It was Tina who displayed style when she ordered her lawyers to: „ Pay that woman whatever she wants and get her out of my life“
Jackie Kennedy represented most people‘s weakness of adoring rich & famous people whom they wish they could be.
The daughter who gave Jacqueline, the $20 Million was Christina Onassis. Jacqueline and Teddy Kennedy had several top NYC Attorneys fight Christina over that money. Jacqueline got the big settlement because Ari Onassis was deathly ill, and died.
Christina despised Jacqueline ( the money hungry Former US First Lady/ with expensive tastes) and paid her the $20 Million to be rid of her. Many books have documented these facts!
Jacqueline was not nice and would fuc___ up someone over money. Money had always meant everything to her/Facts!
She escapes American darkest age. She is the only who knew who killed JFK. And off course the shooter(s). No body else. She was a very very strong woman, elegant, very smart and so beautiful. RIP
It goes to the game of BOB. Brains beats Brawn, Owner beats Brains.
It's a big club and you're not in it....
George Carlin I believe..😂😂😂
Jackie wanted to be more European, notibly French than American. I have dual citizenship France and Canadian. It was Jack Kennedy I was more interested in. As American presidential wives Elenor Rosservet that captured my attention later on. She said she 2as her husband's legs. I have a great deal of respect fot her. Jackie was not French she spoke a bit of French on her trip with President Kennedy, but as a Canadian and very young & returned to France she was thought of by the French people although liked as still American. She brought some style to the Whitehouse and not much more. However, she suffered and did honor to her husband at his funeral. But as first lady did nothing for all Americans, just those at the top of the ladder. 44:20
The beautiful people, right
I have always thought of Martha Washington and Dolley Madison as the favorite first ladies. and Abigail Adams! so, I would probably place Jackie in the top 15 because of what she did for the White House - and her personal style - but not the favorite.
She’s my favorite ,but she had the humility to actually agree w what you said .You always claimed she did nothing to achieve such fame ,she hated the attention
What's really a shame is how many leopards and other big cats had to die because Jackie Kennedy had to have a leopard skin coat. She set the fashion.
No I don't care either you are just delusional?Leopards take their chances in the wild that's just how it is and would kill you in a nano second if you were in the way.@@austindarrenor
Lee Radiziwill is a second best slag-seriously!
Since when is “The Philadelphia Story” a play by Tennessee Williams?! It’s by Philip Barry!
They credited that play to Tennessee Williams?!
LOL
Little glitch in the research department?
I had the sound down and so learned this from your comment...
Mine is the first married is an accident as a young woman, the second is stepping stone, the third is accidentally without condome having pregnancy in my wedding, 2 weeks after my son was born... VPO.. TY!
Lee was much prettier.
But you see, it had nothing to do with looks, jack married Jackie because his father told him to. Jackie spoke several languages, graduated from Radcliffe and had a job before the Kennedys. Her father Black Jack Bouvier told her how important it is to be independent.
she became controversial when she married- onasis - americans wanted her to remain a wife/widow of kenedy-plus their is a thing when they said robert kennnedy did not approve of onasis... its also thought that kennedy was killed by mafia boss onasis and robert was also killed by him.
The Perfect wife?
The Perfect life?
Love comes third in High Society.
No thank you.
Once is e enough for me ❤
Does anyone else realize that Lee had THREE Church annulments? Can anyone tell me how she pulled that off? Or did she throw around a lot of money?
Yes and Ted of all people was allowed a Catholic burial. It's the money and fame but that doesn't count at all on the other side.
Bradkey Univ in peoria Il,...what do theyknow?
Nothing against her but my favorite first lady is Rosalyn Carter and I’m sad she had passed. 😢
Princess Diana’s mother was deb of the tear at same time 1952
I love you, mo.😊
I remembered as a little girl growing up
I was so fascinated by her beauty , her role as flotus n her fashions . Just love everything about her .
