I’ve been on the Austin to Honolulu flight and thoroughly enjoyed it. I’ve done it a few times already. Last time which was in April 2024, we did extra comfort seats and the extra legroom made a difference going there which was close to 8 hours and coming home close to 7 hours. They have great service and yes I loved the meatball dish. Had that on the way
@@nycflyertravel hopefully, either that or they refresh their cabins like delta. You won't even know that some of Delta's planes are over 30 or 35 years old with those refreshed interiors!
7:28, That's the case on my Delta flight that I flew last March from Seattle to Honolulu on the Airbus A330-300 for the 1st time on a full flight and the flight is good and okay, 5 and a half hour trans pacific medium haul flight to Hawaii, the in flight entertainment is identical, responsive to my finger, but it's quite slow and crash for 5 to 10 minutes, before rebooting and it's back to normal. This is my 1st time that my in flight entertainment TV crash and I was disappointed.
As far as we can tell the earliest that we might see the 787 for the east coast flights might be middle of 2025.we still have two more round trips from Honolulu to Boston before the end of year and it'll be on Airbus A330.
Great flight review. I’ve heard those Hawaiian A330’s are pretty beat up. On a 10 hour flight they better give you a hot meal, even if it is domestic. I hope you and your wife enjoyed your stay in Hawaii!❤️✈️
10:16, That's almost similar, but on my international flight, I flew China Eastern last June from Ho Chi Minh to London via Shanghai both flights are okay, my 1st flight is operated by the Airbus A330-300 (B-8972) in the newer cabin (flight is okay, 3 and a half hour red eye flight to Shanghai, but uncomfortable because the seatbelt sign is on for the whole flight, but some passengers, including me use the lavatory, even though there is no turbulence) and my 2nd flight is operated by the Boeing 777-300ER ( my 1st time flying the Boeing 777-300ER and flight is okay, 11 and a half hours, but the cabin is hot because there is no air vent),1 way, I pay $390 from Ho Chi Minh to London via Shanghai and it's very cheap and worth the price.
Nice! Hawaiian is really a cut above other domestic airlines. I’ve done four round trips from JFK-HNL with my adult children (we’ve stayed on the other main islands, much nicer than Honolulu). Believe it or not, one of my good friends is an HA captain, and after eight flights, we finally coordinated our schedules and he flew us back. We felt like celebrities! Btw, the 330s will be scheduled elsewhere once 787 begins; the Dreamliners will be flying the JFK and BOS routes. Unfortunately, my friend is staying with the 330, so I likely won’t see him much anymore.
@@nycflyertravel It was actually crazy! We almost had a medical diversion - my friend was on his break, but they hear emergency announcements in the crew compartment. He first thought it was ME, because I have some serious medical issues. So he went rushing up to my seat, but said I was asleep snoring! It was a teenage girl with a peanut allergy, and she went into anaphylaxis, so we turned toward Denver. But she recovered and we continued on to JFK. It had been in the 80s in Hawaii, but in the 20s in NYC, so it was pretty shocking. I took the captain, after everyone had napped during the day, to Lincoln Center that evening.
What date did you film, your flight to Honolulu almost full, you don't sleep on the plane, even though it's a 10 and a half hour daytime flight and how is your 1st Hawaiian airlines flight to Honolulu?
Surprised that you got a hot meal. I recently watched a review of an Hawaiin flight from SFO or it could have been LAX in Economy/Coach and the reviewer didn’t get a meal, only a bag of chips/pretzels. This was surprising to me as Hawaiin was known for years as the only airline that served full, hot meals from the West Coast to Hawaii in Economy Class. You and your wife should consider yourselves lucky(especially for the Vegan meal 😋 😊) . Have a great weekend.
Thanks! We researched online before and even called the airline to check what kind of food would be served and it really wasn’t clear. We were definitely happy that they served a hot meal and even had a vegan option.
I’ve been on a lot of flights between 10-13 hours, and I clap along with everyone else. I’ve lived in NYC all my life, so I’m really not a hillbilly. I think it’s as simple as when you’re on a long flight, it can seem endless and you’re happy to arrive at your destination. Don’t overthink it. There are a lot worse things than clapping.

Great video! I tried their A330 from HNL to BOS, and it was a very similar experience. Safe flights!
great flight review! Imagine if Hawaiian replaced this route with some A330NEOs or A350... I think they would look awesome!
Thanks! I imagine that they’ll start flying their new 787s on this route soon.

Thanks! We loved Hawaii and already want to go back. I just hope they start to operate their 787s on this route.
Hawaiian I believe is the only U.S. carrier that serves a hot meal on a long haul domestic flight
@@cojoausaviation9862 honestly, I’m not sure. Delta flys the same routes and I’d be interested to see what they serve.
Will Hawaiian be getting the new business class on their a330’s like the 787?
I don’t think so

Wish Hawaiian would fly from Chicago! Hoping they expand with their new 787's they're getting.

This was filmed a few weeks ago and it was a daytime flight so I really wasn’t able to sleep. Overall, it was a nice trip.
I see. What's the registration?
I just came off an air Canada a330 co from Toronto to Vancouver... Very uncomfortable 😂
Wait no air vent ?

I couldn't do 10.5 hrs in those seats. I'd be one sore, angry, and very uncomfortable person.
The extra comfort seats aren't bad.
