I have a 2006, It's greeenish-blue. Let me say this. Once you start having kids you'll not only understand the trim levels, but also how they work. lol I love mine. For what they are, they are way, way better then most of the competition but not in any great way. We've owned or drove Ford, Honda, and even a Toyota and each have their pros and cons. When it comes to minivans Chrysler just gets it right, even if less then awesome. One might say hey this brand is better or this brand is better and chances are they're right about that feature, I am talking about the over all package. I might like the Honda quality and high spirited drive, I don't like replacing timing belts and transmissions. I also don't have a tons of cash. Gutless and archaic as that 3.8 v6 is, it's highly dependable. That van might rust apart in the snow belt, but it will start and go. Thousands and thousands of miles latter... and yes the seats are wonderful.
They are awesome for price or value. The resale value might decline... they might not be amazing as the imports. But that 3.8 and with proper maintenance on fluids(radiator, engine oil), as well the tranny is amazing. Driving these for hours around 80mph to California, does not make you hesitate because no timing belt but chain is their valve drive power. They last a long time! Very Solid and their aerodynamic design is amazing. I prefer this over the timing belt driven valve Odysseys.
@@RavenMoonMkpGaming Yes, assuming your going for the SXT model it will come with cool things like Stow and Go. 2005 was the first year for this feature. The Chrysler minivans also saw numerous other upgrades. We had both a 2002 and 2006 model, and both treated us really well. I wouldn't recommend the 2008 and newer vans however. We bought a 2012 model two years ago and have had to replace a lot of stuff. It just turned 160k and second transmission for example. Others I know have had similar issues. Our prior vans got up to 250k with very little problems. Mainly brakes and alternators. The overun clutches tend to rust up from the inside causing the van to sqeak and gravel. Keep the power doors oiled and you'll be golden for years.
Besides the crazy amount of rust I love these vans so much and I daily drive a 1998 and also have a 2005 that I'm doing body work on and in the process of restoration
Thank you for the tour. I currently own a 1999 grand caravan se that ive put nearly 222,000 miles on and its still going strong but im looking at a 2005 online so I am grateful for the visual walkthrough of this year although the review would have been better without all the negative comments. Lol Im really glad you showed how to stow-n-go the seats since im buying it from a woman who has never put them into the floor.
One of my family relative owns a van like this! It is a 2005 van, just like this one, has a DVD player, it is red, and it's a Special Edition! Love these vans!
From my 12 years owning this model, mines actually had a lot more options like the upgraded radio, heated seats, power liftgate, a control for the rear wipers, leather seats of course, etc. I can't really give a great comparison on if this minivan is any better then competitors, but I can certainly say that with all the abuse its taken, along with it being driven nearly every single day from short to long road trips, I can definitely say that these grand caravans are built tough, If i can, I would buy another one just because of the fact I've only had it fail 2 or 3 times within the past 12 years I've owned one. Its almost at 122,000 Miles, and apart from a few dings from other people hitting it with their shopping carts and running away, ours isn't as bad as that, that one on the other hand has definitely seen way more abuse and no love at all, so in that case, if you're looking for a review on how much abuse it can take, here you go, not pretty but still holding up.
Okay, is he trying to sell it, or tell you not to buy it because it’s “crap”? I’m confused. He had everything negative to say about it. Then had a bipolar moment and said this a great van! It’s like he was trolling the van 🤣🤣🤣 anyone else agree?
I completely agree also. This Salesman is an idiot. You can’t trash the whole van, every part of the van, and then expect someone to buy it. Plus this idiot has no idea about these vans. They were the number one selling minivan for years! Everyone loved them. This guy has no idea what he’s talking about. He would not be working for me if I was his boss after I saw this video. He’d be back at Burger King serving fries.
Loved driving these for my taxi job. You're right about the smell, and I could never get the f/ing stow and go seats figured out on the first try either.
Oh my God finally I know what you're talking about when you go inside the car it smells it's not a bad smell it's a good smell it's the seats cuz I have a 2017 Grand Caravan and it has leather seats and whenever I go back in it smells like leather and I love it
Im thinking of buying this car.. instead of the iphone X.. Iphone X = $1000 Dodge caravan 2005 = $700 Total = dodge caravan 2005 = $300 less = (worth it) 😀👍💰
These are great vans. This idiot salesman has no idea what he’s talking about. Any Vehicle that’s only $700… Will not be reliable. You get what you pay for
Mines has 122k on it, and its much more clean, everything in this one is faded, apart from the climate control power button, non of the switches on ours is faded, this one wasn't taken very good care of :/
I don’t understand how you can like disguise review of used cars? He trashed his van the whole video? I would completely not buy this van… If I didn’t know anything about cars and just listen to this idiot salesman
I have a 05 grand caravan with 200k miles on it no issues as of right now still runs pretty decent that I got for 1000 dollars and have had it since 2017
I just today got one of these as a graduation present. Under 1000 dollars too. The only powered item appears to be the front windows. No console, but I can probably make one.
I threw away all three seats of my 2005 Dodge grand Caravan and converted it into a little camper. I’ve been living in it for two years! I haven’t had rent for two years! These are absolutely great vans
One of my grandparents own a van that looks exactly like this one (Except for the color). It's a very popular minivan choice of minivan. Where I live, many taxi companies often drive a Dodge Caravan or some other Chrysler minivan. However, I do not recommend towing anything with these Chrysler minivans. If you want a small van that can tow, get a Chevy Astro or GMC Safari.
U hold down the washer wiper button to was or u push the button down and when u see an orange light on then the wiper is on and working to turn it off u push down til u see the orange light go off
To me they don't look all that dated even now. I always liked the 3rd and 4th gens of these, so to me they are kind of timeless in a way. I especially like the 2005-07 styling updates they did.
agreed. look, it's a minivan and in a minivan world there's only so much style. Maybe it's just me but I think they look better then a Honda and certainly the bug eyed Toyota. Given the utility and price I've always thought this era was solid. I actually would love the newer RT version. For a minivan, it looks really cool.
These are great vans. The salesman is an idiot. He talks bad about everything on this van and then expect someone to buy it? These are great vans. The most popular van for decades
One thing you didn't mention - the overhead console small screen that gives you east, west, south, north direction- outside temp, gas mileage while driving, how much gas you have left in the tank. My van also has power rear tailgate goes up and down automatically. Same color as my van. Excellent cond! Only 63,000 mi!
I purchased at auction three yrs ago a 2003 caravan c/v with the 3.3 from the Post Office($800).(They're changing over their fleet) ....has 89,000 miles on it.....besides oil changes and minor repairs this vehicle runs like a top. If you' re looking for inexpensive transportation that won't drain the wallet the Dodge Caravan fits the bill.
I beg to differ on the power of the engine mine gets up n goes mighty fine . Speakers 2 in the dash 2 in the front door 2 in the rear. Window wiper rear switch is a multiple switch
The back wiper is on my van in the same spot u hold the button in to send the washer fluid out of the third tale light and to have the wiper just run push button in and it will lite up orange on the little light
This was recorded with a Sony Handycam that's about 3 years old and has taken a fall off the back of an F-150 at 55 mph onto concrete, believe it or not.
Thinking of getting one , it has 145,000 can anyone tell me how many miles should I expect? It's a 2002 and I'm not sure of they typically go 200,000 or so? Seems to an all around good van?
If that is a stx it sure has no options. Our 05 has way more. That flip out thing isn't for phones it's for the dvd remote, and there should be 2 wireless headphones in there too.
it came back to me and the engine was destroyed and the inside was dirty the 2nd row AC models were down on the floor and the middle with 3 AC models were half off the dodge logo on the staring wheel was rip off tail light was busted non of my car chargers was working the passenger door was bent and after I got rid off it and I got a Chrysler 2007 Town and country and I still have it I only had the 2005 dodge grand caravan for 1 year I got the town and country in 2010
I need a van for me and my handicap sister, she was born with celbarpasy and we lost our parents a year apart, and my health has cost me to lose my job, we need help
Not necessarily true abt 0 power I have a navy color 1 same yr same make model sub model engine size and mine has power mine is an 05 Dodge Grand caravan sxt 3.8 liter v6
What kind of a salesman are you, if you dislike this vehicle so much, why do you have it. You put that vehicle down every chance you got, I have one of these vans, very dependable and great on road trips
Love my 2004 Grand Caravan. 215,000 miles and a beast on the highway....

are they the same as the 2005 model from the inside?

I’ve got a 2006 it haul’s ass.I put 16in Weels on mine with aluminum mages. Sets higher and handles better
Besides the crazy amount of rust I love these vans so much and I daily drive a 1998 and also have a 2005 that I'm doing body work on and in the process of restoration
I've got 285,000 on mine. Everything still works, no leaks, runs like a top. You obviously don't like Chrysler products.
I’m glad you said that bc I just bought one for a second vehicle with 209k lol and it’s an 05

Haha they're unique vans for sure. Dead reliable, though!

This van is identical to my grandmas right down to the trim level and color! Ah the memories

Any Vehicle that’s only $700… Will not be reliable. You get what you pay for
For the year and miles this is clean! The previous owner must have taken good care of it.
Good video!
+© Maxxtruck9906 They definitely did! Found out it was actually a one-owner vehicle.
Nice!
Mines has 122k on it, and its much more clean, everything in this one is faded,

this one wasn't taken very good care of :/
EliYourCarGuy can you review a "92 Grand Caravan LE?
I like when you review used cars 👍🏻👍🏻
+RAJohnson713 Lol thank you! I enjoy doing them for sure. Just hard to find them unlocked.
+David C Schlesinger YES! That's the true test of a vehicle; how it lasts over time, not how it is right after leaving the factory

I have a 05 grand caravan with 200k miles on it no issues as of right now still runs pretty decent that I got for 1000 dollars and have had it since 2017
My dad gave me his 2006 grand caravan and I love it
Really would like a van just like this! 🚌
we also have a grand caravan, its the same year, same model and also has the automatic and manual sliding doors. But its midnight blue
This exact one looks just like my grandmas van!

My sister has a 2013 Town & Country...really nice van, with the Stow N Go Seats.
I think the smell he is mentioning is usually from the heater core leaking at one time into the carpet.... very common.
To me they don't look all that dated even now. I always liked the 3rd and 4th gens of these, so to me they are kind of timeless in a way. I especially like the 2005-07 styling updates they did.

Not sure on that one but my 2005 Dodge Caravan which I love, has 2 buttons on the back of the steering wheel that controls the radio.
I purchased at auction three yrs ago a 2003 caravan c/v with the 3.3 from the Post Office($800).(They're changing over their fleet) ....has 89,000 miles on it.....besides oil changes and minor repairs this vehicle runs like a top. How do you use the back wipers 😭 I have not a clue, the whole reason I watched the video
Those are good cars but I'm gonna sign off and look for another review. Seems that you are bashing the car more than promoting it.
I beg to differ on the power of the engine mine gets up n goes mighty fine . Speakers 2 in the dash 2 in the front door 2 in the rear. Window wiper rear switch is a multiple switch
Agreed I love the 3.8
I've always wondered if it is even legal to look inside dealer's unlocked cars
+Paultwice22 I believe it is, but I could be wrong. Who knows.
That wasn't the cheapest car ever. Old dodges besides the ram are known to be cheap newer ones have gotten much better
That button is the wiper button if you hold it it washes
+Carson Maillet Ahh. Good to know! Thanks!
The back wiper is on my van in the same spot u hold the button in to send the washer fluid out of the third tale light and to have the wiper just run push button in and it will lite up orange on the little light
I personally like dodge
This guy is an incredible unknowing.
These vehicles ain't crap there good Chrysler and GM r 2 good company
Is it just me, or does this minivan look like the one from the "Diary of a Wimpy Kid:The Long Haul" book??????
The minivan used in the movie is a newer Toyota Sienna. As for the book, not sure. These older Dodge/Chrysler minivans look quite similar.
TheBoeingRailroader I meant the one in the book
IDiddlyDolphin yes it is the one in the book
What fuse is it that operates door locks &dashboard lights.
Did I just see that the rear view mirrors are not actually attached to the doors?
+FanaticGuide's Video Game LP's and more... Yep that's how these were made!
+RCGCarReviews And when the mirrors are folded, you can't open the door. I find it to also be a safety issue.
+FanaticGuide's Video Game LP's and more... Lol they'd fold out very easily if you pushed the door into them. Not a big deal
Please tell me how much is 2005 Dodge Grand Caravan Tour
?
The key fob starts the car great
هذا سيار تمساح قوي جميل جدا 😊😊😊😊😊😊😊😊😊😊😊😊😊😊😊
So weird bc the wiper switch is the power button for the AC lol someone screwed that up. The wipers should be by the hazard switch.
How many gears does transmission have? Whether 3-rd row be folded into the floor in order to have a large place for a loading?
I believe it's a 4-speed. If the 3rd row is folded down, there's still plenty of luggage room, but the deep well will be filled with the folded seats.
Can you please tell me what kind of camera are you using?
This was recorded with a Sony Handycam that's about 3 years old and has taken a fall off the back of an F-150 at 55 mph onto concrete, believe it or not.
oops sorry. what model number please?
No aux port??
Thinking of getting one , it has 145,000 can anyone tell me how many miles should I expect? It's a 2002 and I'm not sure of they typically go 200,000 or so? Seems to an all around good van?
I've got 285,000 on mine. No problems so far. Maintenance is the key
Ike the ranter thanks so much!!!!
Like. My grandpa's but gold
If that is a stx it sure has no options. Our 05 has way more. That flip out thing isn't for phones it's for the dvd remote, and there should be 2 wireless headphones in there too.
This dude is hilarious 😂
Awesome van too i had back in 2005 for my first child and is a awesome to drive on highway and inner city too great in gas if you how to handle her
Bought one today
How much, what city, what condition.
I don't get it, it sounds that you think is a junkyard van. Not buying from you...
He forgot the radio controls on the steering wheel.
The salesman has no idea how to sell a car. Maybe he’s the owner son, and get fired from Burger King. These are great vans
That carbon fiber trim tho lol
BASED ON THE VAPID MINIVAN IN GTA 4 AND 5
This the one I have
Golll.. con el comercial de los tennis homy
I have a 2002 chrysler town and country limited.
.......how not to sell a 2005 Dodge Grand Caravan......
that's not the same engine from the jeeps maybe is the 3.8 v6 but this engine was made for the van only
I took the 15 in. Weels off and put the 16in on with the aluminum mags rides better
There sure is a good amount of negativity about this van which bothers me a bit because I had one and it's was a great van
It seems like he doesn't want to sell that van.
I only have 125000 miles on my 06 dodge grand caravan. Rusty but all good
it came back to me and the engine was destroyed and the inside was dirty the 2nd row AC models were down on the floor and the middle with 3 AC models were half off the dodge logo on the staring wheel was rip off tail light was busted non of my car chargers was working the passenger door was bent and after I got rid off it and I got a Chrysler 2007 Town and country and I still have it I only had the 2005 dodge grand caravan for 1 year I got the town and country in 2010
I need a van for me and my handicap sister, she was born with celbarpasy and we lost our parents a year apart, and my health has cost me to lose my job, we need help
you should probably not hold the camera while you're talking.
Not necessarily true abt 0 power I have a navy color 1 same yr same make model sub model engine size and mine has power mine is an 05 Dodge Grand caravan sxt 3.8 liter v6
Chrysler/Dodge make their money off of bullying the consumer LOL
+SeattleAlaskan Seems to be the case lately.
beware mine got stolen get 2007 Chrysler Town and country
Xbox Guy There more likely to steal a Town and Country because they are worth more. So you're logic makes absolutely no sense.
Matthew Kinney well thanks I really didn't know like I though that because I had a 2004 dodge grand caravan
Batter’s should have been a more out put
What kind of a salesman are you, if you dislike this vehicle so much, why do you have it. You put that vehicle down every chance you got, I have one of these vans, very dependable and great on road trips
while driving van just shout off all panel lights come on
the 3.8 is actually one of their best motors. its the 3.3 thats bad
