Hey friends! Hope this tutorial helps you out :) You can find CHORD CHARTS on Patreon: www.patreon.com/garrettnoganacoustic?fan_landing=true Love ya'll!
I’ve practicing the guitar for about a month, and your videos have helped me the most! I just have a passion to minister through worship and learning an instrument has been challenging but I thank the Lord for your lessons! God bless you brother! All the way from Hawaii!
I’ve only been trying to learn to play for like a week. I find all your videos so helpful and just wanted to say thank you and God bless. I’m sure in no time I’ll be able to play a few songs with your teachings and help.
@@GarrettNoganAcoustic It went really well. Thanks. The songs are starting to flow quite a bit easier now. I started to use the light gauge pick that you advised and changed my strings to 10’s. Way easier on the fingers. Especially being that high on the neck.
I'm obsessed with their new album! Been playing it non-stop! I love this song! This song reminds me of a new take on a hymn. You're the best Garrett! Blessings!
Thank you for this! And for telling us about the 5th fret! I was able to play along with the song on Alexa, and I only started playing at the end February ❤
good one! i love beginner friendly tutorials, makes my life so much easier! if i may, can you teach us how to play "you will be saved" by elevation rythm? God bless, brother! Much love from Brazil 🇧🇷
Hi garrett thank you for the lesson love this song. Would it be possible to do a video on reading online guitar chord charts? Sometimes it’s confusing when they don’t give you the option of the key and put chords like F#m and all those without telling you. Maybe it’s obvious but I am confused and feel like I’m not 100% sure I’m doing it right. And all the / / / written down. Maybe how you can simplify things… thanks again!
@@GarrettNoganAcousticI assumed each link you provide sent you to the song you are teaching on in each videos but i think I assumed wrong? I believe the link you share is only to get you to Patreon then we have to search ourselves for the song we are looking for right?
@GarrettNoganAcoustic I ama goin lol. I'm playing at church for the first time Friday. I'm a little nervous but I feel you have taught me well. THANK YOU! 🥰 I have been recommending you to folks.
Would it be possible to request "I breathe you in, God" by bryan and katie torwalt? I love your videos and how helpful they have been with my journey playing guitar.
When you put the capo on the fifth fret, and you play the G chords, it makes it in the key of C, Why don't you just play the song in the key of C at the first three frets?
There are two reasons I personally do this at times. One is if I prefer a certain set of chord shapes over another. And the other is that if you learn the song with C shapes on the first frets and a singer wants to drop the song to a lower key you now need to switch all your chord shapes whereas if you are “capoed” up you can just lower the capo a step and keep the same shapes. I’m not super awesome so I prefer to not have to switch chord shapes on Sunday morning if someone called in sick and someone with a lower range is taking over the song for example.
@@douglascollins3335another reason that I have found at my church is that there are a lot of guitars playing already in the standard C chords. For instance, electric guitar 1 and 2. EG 1 will most likely play more lead riffs, but playing with a capo helps create layers 👍 hope this helps!
@@jerturner2977 It helps a lot. We just got a new worship leader at our church, and he plays acoustic guitar. Sometimes I play bass and acoustic. He is very good at guitar and uses a capo a lot. We discussed me playing acoustic guitar as a second, and one using a capo, and one not, or both using a capo each on different frets, and using different chord patterns. I will learn a lot from our new worship leader.
