Im a ford man but i think these model camaros are some of the best looking camaros chevy ever made.i would love to park this thing beside my grand marquis. Sharp car!!
Bought mine new from Schonlaw Chevrolet in January 1973.Mine was 'Midnight Green'. Also a 4 speed with positraction. Window sticker was $4190. As I recall it had a claimed 245 HP. It was just okay. It was a 'rattle trap' from the moment I drove it off the lot. Going over any kind of rough surface like a RR crossing, the whole dash shook. I still remember taking my then girlfriend, now wife, to the drive-in just after I bought it and she asked if it was normal for the dashboard and doors to "make noises like that." LOL. It looked FAR better than it ran. Had it about a year when I traded it on a new '74 Porsche 911. Got $2800 against the 911's $10,690. Needless to say, THAT car was as tight as the proverbial drum and far more car than the price difference reflected. Different horses for courses I suppose. GLWS
Back in the 80s, my buddy had one. Before I even had a drivers license.. that came in 1982, I got my drivers license and I got to drive the car. There was a blond that owned the green one.. with a stick. Used to always see her on cruise night.. Marquette Park. From 9 o’clock at night till the cop showed up to chase out of the park. Good times.
Nice car…I had a 70 1/2 in 85 when I was 18yo….had a 350ci w a 4spd M22. Paid $2k with a fresh black Imron paint job…god that car was awesome…and laser straight. Even came with a brand new factory GM dash pad because EVERY Camaro had the dreaded dash curl where it meets the metal…I noticed that yours has some too.
I had the same color combo in a 1970 1/2 RS Z28. I had a high spoiler and high back seats. Also 4-speed with console and deluxe interior. I did not have the original rims. Mine had polished solid Centerlines.
I have two 73 Z28's. One is black with white stripes and the other one is just like this in red with white stripes and the same black interior. Mine red one is also a 4 speed with the original shifter still in it. Only has 73,000 original miles on it. Numbers matching front to back. These are fun cars to own and drive. This one looks really nice with the black stripes. I like this color combo better. Nice to know they are worth that much $$.
Unibody frame, watch out they can twist if not reinforced with subframe. Rebuilding that rock crusher Muncy tranny would be a pain. Ask me how I know Happy New Year’s y’all
Someone needs to tell the guy who is driving you never jump on these things when they're cold. He actually says in this video that he recommends waiting until it reaches 150 to 160 degrees before taking off right before he decides to get on it and go through the gears and you can clearly see the temp gauge hasn't even come off the stop. Smfh. Most of these classic car dealerships are the perfect example of ignorance is bliss. Pretty sad
