I’m also relatively new, being introduced via TGWDLM through my friend, and Black Friday was my first one I caught the release for, but I’m in love with the community surrounding Starkid. I’ve not been to any of the live shows (due to being a Brit) but the community is so excepting of all the different opinions of people and I love it. Honestly you can probably find a bunch of my comments around the YT platform in general, but especially around Starkid stuff.
Already feeling like this is the strongest soundtrack we've ever gotten from Starkid.
I’m glad to see dirty girl and nerdy prudes must die as high up as they are. Dirty girl especially seems to be towards the bottom of most people’s lists while I love it. Angela and Will’s voices just sound so good together
They're both my top 2 favorites at the moment.

Eh it's not the messaging for me. I think the melody is just really clunky and too low for too long in some places. I like the chorus though.
as someone who saw this the night they flimed, i can say with pride that dirty girl is one of my favorites. seeing it live was ANOTHER level
It reminds me a LOT of Dead Girl Walking from Heathers, and even though it was uncomfortable it was so well choreographed and it slapped.
I love “Just for once” I relate to Ruth so much, the itch to be on stage and not be in the background, and the “i used to dance, i used to dance” just makes me so sad for her and me

Personally it’s also one of my lower ranked ones, I’m really curious why you like it so much! There are totally some good moments (but to be fair there are those in every song in this musical, they’re all so spectacular) but I would love to know what makes it stand out for you? Perhaps give me some more insight on a part of the musical I hadn’t viewed before :)

The top 3 are just addicting melodies that I can't get out of my head and the most well composed from theme to execution. Can't stand Dirty Dudes Must Die tbh it's just a massive downgrade from NPMD in every way except everyone's favorite who will pray for you line from fan favorite Angela, and the last line. Best of You is corny but underrated. Just For Once is fine. Love LL and have since I was 13 but the song is boring and I'm clearly not as much of a falsetto's fan as everyone else is lol. Bully/Bury are fun and well done and the minor/major chord change-up is musically very interesting but they're just not put on repeat and jam out to songs which is my only criteria lmao. My last thought is that Go Go Nighthawks is the most middle of the show filler song I've ever heard and while the "fuck you clivesdale go get fucked" part had me in tears and I want to tattoo it on my body permanently, the rest of the song is just too high school football game rah rah for me to vibe with.
Edit: On second thought I really like Cool As I Think I Am and they deserved to be higher so I swapped them with Bury/Bully. Joey doesn't get enough credit for his emotional performances and lead vocals. Such a unique voice!

I love hatchet town being so high here although I wish the chorus was included because it's sooo catchy it's always in my head. Also dirty girl being up there is awesome I feel like it's underappreciated honestly. I would put highschool is killing me higher mostly for Ritchie's and Ruth's part at the beginning esp the chords in the background (which also really remind me of something but I can't figure out what)
Also I think it's cuz I'm sick rn but I kept crying during this like I was fine and then cool as I think I am reprise came up and now I just keep tearing up. Also just for once and Ritchie's "I'm not a loser" in npmd kill me why did he and Ruth have to die😭😭😭

I really think this show has Starkid's strongest tracks, especially vocally. Like, Black Friday still has my favorite Starkid songs of all time, but it still has songs I'll skip when watching. I'm especially pleasantly surprised by how much I loved Lauren's voice in this show, since I just did not like her songs in BF (maybe the writing just wasn't right for her voice? idk). But everyone in this show sounds excellent. Joey and Jon had some major improvement since BF too, imo. I'm also just in love with Angela's voice constantly.
This is such an unpredictable ranking honestly, but I think get where you are coming from (and I completely with Dirty Girl being high on the list)

The who will pray for you part of nerdy prudes must die is the reason i found the musical in the first place and i find it just so all encompasingly evil and dominating (reminding me a bit of vecna in stranger things). I just love it so much!

Even though everyone has a very different list I don't think I have seen The Summoning or Hatchet Town outside of the top 5 and High School is Killing Me is usually pretty close to the top (number 6 here). Everyone has Just for Once in the middle of the pack because, I think, that song shouldn't be that good but Lauren Lopez draws so much emotion out of it.

I think I’m all “the summoning’d” out because I’m a big Creature Feature fan and so the chorus is completely nothing new to me, not Starkid’s fault that Creature Feature just kinda got to the spooky music thing before they did. Nerdy Prudes Must Die (song) is my #1 for sure. I like the rest of the song enough to justify it but good lord does that ending segment carry it for me. Especially because it’s the song/section that reminded me that Starkid indeed exists (I’m a fake fan I know) and I had heard it in this TH-cam shorts animatic by ThirdChildProductions if I’m remembering the name right that pops up when you search the song name and it is FANTASTIC. It takes the section from feeling sort of out of place in the rest of the song and makes it feel like Starkid’s equivalent to Disney’s Hellfire.

* 9. The Summoning - I'M SORRY IT'S SO LOW, this song is just a little too chaotic for me but also the way they sing "T'nooyyyy Keraxissss" scratches an itch for me, not much else to say about this song though
* 8. Hatchet Town - Reminds me of older Starkid with Act 2 opening with a group number, we stan the cameos but otherwise I'm not super fond of this song, Bryce's interlude, as angelic as her singing is, kind of just kills the mood of it for me
* 7. Bury The Bully - Hi so just in advance, I'm a sucker for Mariah's vocals and like, this song isn't amazing but her "It's gonna NEVER HAUNT ME!" and her acting in this song is setting off the lesbian alarm bells in my head and it may have moved higher than it should have cause of that
* 6. The Best Of You - WEEOO WEEOO LESBIAN BELLS ARE RINGING, I once again am in love with Mariah and I wish this was the final song, her voice really compliments Joey and hfdjshgkjhfg they're so cute together
