I love the idea of having a home game... but on a neutral site I believe the lesser teams would have been more "competitive". They all looked overwhelmed, the home crowds were insane
The Committee cant get it right, the 4 team playoff committee couldn’t get it right. Heck in Georgia’s back to back championship season there were blowouts. Ga vs Mi 34-11, Michigan deserved to be there. Ga vs TCU 65-7, Ohio state was the better team but the kick at midnight ended it for them. TCU deserved to be there. Ohio State could have been the Champs that year. Give the committee a break, blow outs will happen regardless. We may see a few more blowouts before it’s all said and done. Oh and Go Dawgs.
Im a GA fan, and I like the Bulldogs chances, but if Ohio State plays the rest of CFP like they did against TN. Man....they are going to be hard to beat.

Maybe have same 4 get auto bids but reseed after we are down to 8. Since those aren't home games doesn't matter who plays who and where. Like we could reseed 1 Oregon 2 UGA 3 Texas 4 Penn St 5 ND 6 oSU 7 Arizona St 8 Boise St. Those 2 teams still got the bye for their regular season. Stop with the USC glossing. They only beat Clemson by 3 and luckily did that. Comitee got it right for what it is and we need to be realistic about SEC being the God conference if 5 teams should have ended with 2 losses but 3 of them fell to crap teams.
Look at the format and the rules for this year's playoffs. The goal was not to get the best 12 teams. The goal was to get the best 12 teams within the rules and parameters of this year's format. You are making a straw man argument here. Two additional, important goals of this year's format were: 1) to make the playoffs more inclusive to more ranked teams from more conferences; and 2) to increase and broaden interest in college football. Both of these goals were achieved, and that is good for the future of college football. I do agree the format and rules should be tweaked by not giving lower ranked conference champions first round byes. And maybe the byes should be eliminated altogether since there is a tremendous advantage in the first round already for schools playing at home. What I don't want to see is a change that further limits the ability of 2-3 lower ranked conference champions to make it into the playoffs. And I don't want to see more automatic bids from the SEC and B1G. Maybe the format should expand to 14 teams. There was always going to be growing pains with the expanded playoff so this is not unexpected. It may take a few years to get it right.
In any case, I think Oregon takes that game against Ohio. I've never seen Day win an important game against elite competition. He is just wound to tight. I remember in the quarter of the Georgia game where Day started jumping up and down simply because Georgia missed a field goal.....I think cream will rise to the top. I have no doubt he will outcoach Day if they meet

@@larryhatcher8927 If you google the game the box score had Gunner down for 12/16 71 yds and a pick. I'm not saying he'a trash, but he isnt good. The coaches didn't trust him which is why he was throwing screens and running draws. And Texas is probably a tad overrated. Clemson is not a great offense and they scored more then the dawgs on that defense
