I've followed the tutorial exactly as you explained, but my landscape does not look like yours at all, and the control parameters don't seem to work the same way as yours, its not as clean as yours. Are you adding any plugin or blocks that we cannot see? can you share final code layout? Also I am trying to offfset curve with the negative parameter, but it does not work, it gives me an error and just says that the curve offset failed . have you experienced this? and any idea on how to get the code to work? thank you again for the video for teaching us grasshopper !

There are no hidden components-everything in the video is exactly as shown. It seems like you might be trying to copy it all at once and expecting the final result immediately. This tutorial is meant to be followed step by step, with each section built incrementally. Check as you go, and if each part is matching, the final result will be too. About the curve offset error, it typically happens when the curve has self-intersections or non planar. Try lowering the offset distance or using a different method, like scaling from the center. As for the final code request , you can check it in the description.

Hi.. good video.. Though i tried it on a parametric surface but it didnt quite work, i was using the quad panels component from the lunchbox plugin to do it and i extracted the centroids of the panels to use as geometry

I recommend following the tutorial step by step first. Once you achieve a working result, you can make changes. The issue might be with the quad panels - are they on a planar surface? If not, that could be the problem.

@@3DBeastI'm also having this problem and it doesn't work for me..and I've followed all the steps

Thank you for the awesome tutorial!
Do you know if there is a way to adjust the size of the attractor's influence on a point-by-point basis? All the points in your example affect the same circular area. Is there a way to have certain points with a larger influence and others with a smaller influence?

Good question! Yes, it’s possible. The easiest way to explain is to think of copying the project twice-one for each attractor. For the first attractor, let it affect only the grid it belongs to. Then, do the same for the second attractor. After that, compare the results from both grids and pick the more affected tile. If a tile is equally affected by both, just pick one.
This gives you the idea but can be tedious. Instead, you can apply the same logic using data trees and mathematical operators to handle all attractors at once.

@@3DBeast Thank you. I appreciate the help!

@@jaxon.roller You're welcome! I just thought of an even simpler solution you might find helpful. Without making any changes to the tutorial, simply move the attractor point in the Z direction. The farther an attractor is moved in Z, the weaker its influence becomes

as always i am amazed with what you do ,what i am about to ask you is something i know the answer to yet i want to go for it as i know you have a patron or kind of exclusive membership but for those of who cant afford such thing can you do some basic tutorial but are vital and essential work around techniques and which component to use and how it works a basic one i know the basics matter much and thank you

Thanks for the suggestion! I’ve mainly been focusing on specific techniques lately, as that’s where most of the interest lies. I’ll consider how best to cover the basics in the future

Which engine do you use for rendering, looks nice?
