Tour was very informative and your food places some who I am familiar with hit the mark 100%. Thanks for compiling this great video. You and your two guests are vivacious and fun to see.
Thanks so much. We had a great time. And were happy to be able to make a video for our channel on Chinatown as well. Zeene showed us all the best places.
This video prepped us for a perfect day trip to Chinatown. Two adults with our 4 kids ages 7-11. All of the kids said it was a fun day. A great mix of food, shopping, historic and cultural experiences. Great neighborhoods, playgrounds and outdoor spaces. The only catch is a couple of the food spots mentioned (Boba spot and butcher) are no longer in business. That aside, I highly recommend this video as a great guide to a packed SF Chinatown day. Thank you!
🙂. Zeene and STUFR, thank you for stopping by our butcher shop!! 😅. I’m glad you liked our stuff! Loved the part where you guys were crammed on a bench eating. 🤣.
It was one of the highlights of the chinatown tour :) Simon was fantastic and gave such a fantastic overview of the product. We could really tell how passionate you guys are about the quality. Stopping by again soon to buy some more of that delicious meat!! 👍👍
Awesome video! It brings back all these amazing food memories and the fun we had on our tour. Thanks again for this amazing day and collaboration. We had a great time thanks to you 🤩😎😊
I love your Icon, its too cool. Great video. I have done several Chinatown walking trips, your video has shown me that their is lots more to explore. I can bet you there is lots of hidden treasures in need of exploring.
Really enjoyed this video. It was excellent. Just limited to Chinatown. The brief history in the beginning was interesting. It been age since I've been to Chinatown. My family use to go walk up the mountain and afterward head to SF for grocery shopping( roasted/bbq meat and bao etc). Your list help tremendously. Love to try the Steap tea shop too. Want to try your fave Purple Drink. Tfs🙏
Purple Rain is pretty awesome! However, if you can't get out here to SF, you can try making it yourself. Butterfly Pea Tea can be purchased off Amazon. Make it iced with a bit of lemon and simple syrup.
I love watching your videos!! I live in the area, but always learning new things in your video! If you ever have time to do one on the best izakaya and ramen, that would be fantastic! ❤️ thank you!! And please making new videos!!
One small correction. Portsmouth Square was named after the US sloop of war, the USS Portsmouth, that was anchored off Yerba Buena Cove. Montgomery was captain of the USS Portsmouth, which took possession of Yerba Buena on July 9th, 1846. Portsmouth Square/La Plaza as it was called at the time, was not a port. It's where the flagpole stood since 1833. The shoreline was at current day Montgomery Street and east towards current day Embarcadero. That's where the landfill starts.
What a beautiful street in Avenue really never seen food and Chinese traditional cousin...i wanna try there dish current yummy...also friendly person love it..usually happy such a happiness
I noticed that you haven't posted a video of any kind in nearly a year. Are you OK? Have you survived COVID? I would love to see a series of videos on San Francisco's recovery and which of the shops you highlighted survived.
Your videos convinced me! I went to Good Mong Kok yesterday for the first time and took some friends to try it also. (After participating in the “Stop Asian Hate” march & rally.) The har gow was great! Wish I bought more. Their egg custard tarts were also very satisfying. I’m not a big bao fan but I bought two, plenty of tasty pork filling. I didn’t see shumai until I was waking out the door (darn it, it was covered w another tray of bao) - I’ll get it next time!
Thanks for very informative videos. I'm planning on going to SF and film my youtube videos. I've watched almost all of your videos and it gave me so much information! I hope you can do best sushi place in SF.
Awesome! I covered Oma SF Station in my latest Japantown Smackdown video but will certainly add this to my list of future videos. :) Also check out Ju-Ni. Let me know if you need any help with your videos - feel free to find me on Instagram and DM me.
I just subscribed on your you tube channel have uou been to Chinatown SF lately ,how was all those shop stops ,are they still open coz were going to SF next week
Thanks for that Zene and the boys I haven't been to SF in a few years but I always come through there and as we always arrive at sparrows fart in the morning I drop my bags off at the hotel and head straight for Good Mong Kok I will now add Hing Leung to my next trip
Wow i.m watching your video over and over again can.t take my eyes off you...San Francisco China town walking tour relly interesting which like that Beijing duck bbq shop relly impressed for me...because family business generation after generation family business... specially exciting Chinese custom and culter very important matters anyway you are so gorgeous...
@@ZeeneInRealLife we are going home. Managed to try Mongkok bakery, the Siew Mai was nice. San Francisco is a beautiful place, we hope we can come again when this virus is under control. Will go yumcha next time.
Hi Steve, the hop on hop off buses can be expensive but depends on your budget and itinerary. Generally I find they are helpful to get a lay of the land and if you plan to only do a quick drive by of the major sites listed on their route just to check them off your list. Otherwise it's cheaper to take MUNI and get a multi-day passport. If you decide to take the HOHO tour, look into bundled discount services like the Go San Francisco Card which also includes admission to museums and attractions.
Hello! So glad you enjoyed the tour! Unfortunately I don’t have time to do private tours much as I enjoy meeting people. Luckily there are a ton of really great Chinatown food tours. Let me research a couple and get back to you!
@@ZeeneInRealLife oh thank you sooo much❤️! My wife and I are going to San Fran next month from 14-18th and we really want to do a food tour we have been researching a lot and found your Chanel very informative. So we would very much appreciate your help, this will be our first time to San Francisco and we our celebrating our 20 year wedding anniversary we want to make it so special and memorable.
OK, here are a few you can look into -- I haven't taken them myself but they seem to go to the right foodie places!! "Adventures off the Eaten Path" hits Golden Gate Bakery, Kam Po BBQ (I prefer Hing Lung but you get good BBQ here too), an authentic tea experience, and the must do Golden Gate Fortune Cookie visit. "Stretchy Pants" *seems* to hit Sam Wo, Eastern Bakery, a tea tasting and Golden Gate Fortune Cookie (from the pics but can't verify). Then finally "Wok Wiz" which seems to be the most authentic experience but also the most expensive (the tour guides are legit so you are definitely catching the local flavor on this one). Hope that helps! Happy anniversary! 🍾
Thanks! Yeah, sometimes my mouth doesn't cooperate with my brain. :) Can't tell u how many times I've had to blooper myself out. Thanks also for the pointer on the statue 👍
Find food? You would have to be Forrest Gump to miss food in San Francisco Chinatown. Grant Street is the main drag....and ask the locals where to go/not go in the City otherwise you ruin your vacay

Make sure to put these amazing restaurants on your list. The flavors were amazing.

That was awesome. Thank you!! I’ll have to bookmark these places. Went to the Taoist temple on our 1st visit many years ago.
I can't wait to come back to the Bay Area. I'll use this video as a guide. You're "The Best!'

Thank you for my English teacher...
Going to have to try the butcher shop, I’d usually go to Eastern Bakery, it’s funny the debate which is the better bakery between the two.
Highly recommend Hing Lung -- some of the best BBQ I've had!
Was there yesterday (16th March 2020), it was very quiet.
Have another viewer vacationing here this week and he sent me some eerie pictures of empty streets...how are things going trying to get around?

Yes! You can also find me on Insta under "ZeeneInRealLife"
Unfortunately it looks like Steap tea bar is permanently closed and Golden Gate bakery is temporary closed at this time
I saw that about Steap -- so sad! Another victim of the pandemic :( And hopefully Golden Gate Bakery will open again soon.
