EXCELLENT video! This exactly how I got to where I am today as well. Wokring hard and occasionally getting out of your comfort zone is the only way to get where you want to go in life. WELL DONE!
here iam in the same exact situation with film school, I just droped wish me luck, the doubt is soul killing but i got a pretty good feeling about it though, i'm free.......... but feel like somthing is wrong in all this hope i'm wrong. thanks for sharing this feels like a gift video for my birthday
Best of luck! It will get discouraging but if you can keep pushing through, you can figure it out. It might not be the path you imagined, but for me I’ve tried to embrace and appreciate the path I’ve found
I was a former USC student as well.i had a Doble major in film and chemistry, but I was really passionate in filmmaking than chemistry. After I was forced to drop out due to financial reasons I felt lost and a little bit heartbroken because I had studied so hard for nothing. My question for you is how did you manage to get a job as a freelancer without getting a film degree?
Sorry to hear that... Well for me, no one has ever asked me for a resume or asked me if I had a film degree. What gets you freelance gigs is your work and your network. My current full time job I got after freelancing for them for a while.
How did you make money and seek out opportunities like being a PA that were just for experience? I am currently a college freshman looking to gain more experience but also make money during the summer.
I mostly just networked with people I knew in the business. But you can also check out Facebook groups, staff me up, or just emailing production companies in your area. Good luck!
So incredibly proud of you and what you've created. I'm back in classes this semester and CAN confirm: school sucks.
Thank you Sarah :)
