In my opinion, Kipo and the Age of Wonderbeasts is the best animated series since Avatar: The Last Airbender. It made me feel like I was 6 years old again. I cried at the end. I wasn't even building up to it. The credits started rolling and then I just broke. I'm like stone cold emotionless, so it's very rare for that to happen to me. Very well done.

Why didn't they show that though? They had a flashforward where we saw everyone hanging out, and we know based on Benson and Troy that showing LGBT relationships isn't an issue. They could've at least had Asher be in this scene.
I'll wait until its actually in canon materiel. It's just as silly as the "Dumbledore is gay" in Harry Potter. Asher is barely even important and has very little screen time, let alone time with Kipo.
I love this world too much for it to end. Honestly if there was a sequel series that would be so awesome. Different characters, different city, but also have some callbacks to the original.

I loved this series but hated the fact that the cured mutes stayed like that... Specially since apparently it was confirmed that Brad (the rat that got cured), who was one of my favorites characters is death in the epilogue since rats have only a few years of life span...

My HC is Hugo is NOT dead. He was just playing it up for the family before. Like "whoe is me guess I am dOOMed now." Then got up while trashing something and laughing maniacally (for fun!). They still built him a statue though because he really likes statues of himself and he did save the day! Right now he's off doing a concert and being totes alive.
Okay so I'm putting my own headcanon on the shell to make it less for me Hugo can still hear her and speak to her that's what the statues for and everybody is happy and Hugo still gets to see and speak to his little sister and she still gets to see and speak to her big bro

the only sin of this ending is the fact that they never cured the vaccine. so all the animals that were reverted back just stay that way forever.
